Greenwood Pencil Box

What a cool store! They call themselves “Outfitters of Creative Adventure” and everything in the store is designed to encourage, inspire, and guide creativity. All the proceeds from the store support two local arts education non-profits that work with kids and teens: Bureau of Fearless Ideas & Sanctuary Art Center (guilt free shopping!!) I came into the store because I’m a HUGE fan of Blackwing Pencils (the greatest pencil ever made) and they happen to be one of the few authorized dealers in Seattle! But after seeing all the cool games, books, posters, graphic tees (designed by teenagers!), and what they call “Author Gear” (everything from journals to meditative candles) I literally was able to do all my holiday gift shopping for my teenaged niece, college-aged nephew, Mom, and even Dad—the hardest person in the world to shop for! Go check this place out if you’re looking for unique, creative gifts (and Blackwing Pencils)!

Picked up an amazing little journal here. Feel lucky for a place like this to exist.

The hours online said open 11am-4pm Tuesday-Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturday. I arrived at 11:15am on a Wednesday to find it closed, despite the same hours being posted on the door. Too bad. I would really have liked to shop here, as I am a stationery geek, but since my time was wasted I won’t be back. Guess it’s off to U Bookstore instead 😕
