Excellent selection of fly tying material and unique flies for the region. The staff were helpful in person and even gave a few suggestions on places to fish on the Willowemoc.

My only criticism was that a few weeks prior to my trip I had called about booking a guide, they took my information and did not call me back. After waiting a week I booked through another shop.

I will say though, that my in person experience was great and I will continue to patronize this fly shop.

Great spot to stop in for flies and other essentials, but also has a great selection of fun fishing related items. One of my favorite fly shops 🥰 Extremely knowledgeable and kind staff. Plenty of parking and easy access from the main road. Seemed to have quite a few customers when I went. Located right across the road from the Willowemoc Creek so you can get a view of the water before you head out!

We also booked a half-day guided trip with Dette Flies. They set us up with Craig, a patient, funny, talented guide and instructor. He tweaked big and little mistakes, demonstrated a variety of techniques, and got us on the fish. Looking forward to our next trip with Craig. Well done!

Great knowledgeable team working here. Dette is actually the oldest family run fly fishing shop in the world. They have been around since 1928. Know that when you come to the shop or book a guided tour you are dealing with the best people who genuinely love what they do! I have worked professionally with them for years and they have only gone above and beyond for me and my guests.

My son an I took a lesson with George today he was incredibly knowledgeable an we learned so much about fly fishing we never did it an in a couple hours we’re hooked …. Great place to learn

My boyfriend and I took a fly fishing lesson with Mike. He was knowledgeable, friendly and so patient with us. We caught two fish each and had a truly amazing experience. Would come back again and would highly recommend to friends!

Great store! Tons of products. From rods and reels to books and flies. Fly line, leaders and tippet. You name it they probably have it.

I brought in an old Martin 61 tuna can reel to have backing and 444 DT4F put on for a bamboo rod. The younger guy behind the counter had never seen a tuna can reel, and this model can be a little tricky, to put line on. He thought about the best way to do it for a few seconds and then did an awesome job spooling everything on the reel. Fished the rod and reel later in the day and it was perfect! And no charge for the Dacron backing.

Everyone is friendly and helpful and the store is neat and organized. Highly recommend when in the area to fly fish. Can't wait to go back!

Update: Stopped in a second time to have another reel spooled with line and to purchase a pair of Korkers wading boots. I have an inherited essential tremor and I asked the gentleman that spooled the reel if he could tie an Albright knot on a different reel connecting the backing to fly line I purchased elsewhere. My hands that day were too shaky. He said no problem! Tied it up to the backing and reeled it up on the reel. What a huge life saver! I'm able to tie flies to leader and tippet with a tool on days where my tremor is bad, but trying an Albright or nail knot would have taken two hours. Thank you again Dette flies! Not sure I'll see you until Spring, but I will always stop here while in the area fly fishing.

I cannot say enough good things about this shop . Went in to buy a Spey setup as a beginner and being completely clueless every employee in there stopped what they were doing and help walk me through everything. Patrick even brought me to the river to cast a few rods and help with casting and give me some tips for on the water .
