Westlake Ace Hardware

July 3, 2023: Great experience. I purchased a fire pit on-line to be picked up at the store. A couple of hours later I arrived at the store only to find that my order had not made it to the store. Not sure if it was a corporate issue or operator (my) error. Regardless, we agreed that I could purchase it while in the store and take it with me. The store assembled the (mobile) fire pit in no time. The store agreed to cancel my on-line order once received from corporate. They set me up for a good July 4th. My hat is off to the team!

Young employee helped me select correct size nuts, bolts and washers for complex home repair job.
Impressive. He could tell I was unsure which combination to select from large selection. Great attitude and very knowledgeable!

Great hardware store... They made a new key for my mailbox...the original key was inserted into their computer...the computer program identifies which key blank will work. The duplicated key works like an original key.

The guys at this store were so incredibly helpful in solving a repair dilemma that I had. I got such great advice and was directed to the right things that I needed. Fantastic service. And great group of people working there. Wish I could give 10 stars!!!

Old school friendly place!!! the hurricane, knocked out their power and I really needed some items to make some repairs around the house. They walk each individual customer around with a flashlight and got you taken care of with five star service. These are the type places I remember when I was a kid shopping with my dad.!

Never had a bad experience at this store but this review is for Alex M. Bought a new stihl chainsaw and couldn’t figure out how to get it started so I brought it back and asked for some help. Alex spent around 20-25 minutes showing me every in and out of the saw, unflooded it (oops on my part), and even adjusted the chains tension when he realized it was a bit off. Didn’t think I would be able to get the job done today, so can’t thank him enough! 20-30 trees cut down like a hot knife through butter, love the saw.

They had what I needed and were very helpful in finding it. Great place--been going there ever since they opened at that location.

I needed a string trimmer and a few other yard tools for my daughter. They were open Sunday, and a gentleman set me up with an awesome Stihl trimmer. Knowledgeable staff! They beat the big box joints for service every time!

2/24/21 - I don’t normally write reviews for anything which I guess is a cliche thing to say... but from the second I walked in and the whole ride home I was stoked on my visit. The store is laid out really well. The staff had were super helpful and not overbearing. I typically don’t want to talk to staff in hardware stores but they was terrific. I don’t know any of their names but those five staff members that I saw are top class. 🤙

I was purchasing my first nice grill, Weber, but I was concerned whether or not to let someone else assemble it. I had taken a sliding door to ACE at Westlake in Cary NC to have it re-screened. They did such a good job with the new screen, I decided that I could trust them with assembling my new Weber grill. I worked with Joey, the manager, Alex and Logan. I was very pleased with the help in purchasing the grill and the extra effort they put in to find the right size grill cover for my new Weber. They did an excellent job of assembling my grill and Alex and Logan were very helpful when delivering the grill to my house. Thanks ACE (Westlake). This picture is the very first steak, ribeye, that I cooked on my new grill. Check out the sear marks. It tasted as good as it looks.

The employees at Ace have always been helpful, honest and friendly. Today was no exception, they went above and beyond to help me in the store and in the parking lot after a fender bender. Thank you for your help and excellent customer service.

They have a precision knife sharpening machine that does an excellent job!

Absolutely love this place and all the employees. Help is across every step of the way within the store. Erika at the paint shop is awesome and always energetic (even if we run few mins before the store closing) !!

I purchased a replacement key for my Honda CRV and later purchased a new case for an old key. Both experiences were very pleasant events not only from the help received but also from the money savings! Joey went above and beyond helping me with new case for the old key. It had been superglued shut. Joey worked very carefully to get the old electronics out of the superglued case and then to fit them in the new case. Great service!

Hidden treasure!

The quality of paint (Benjamin Moore) is much better than what you'd find at the big box hardware stores.

The selection of tools is also superior to what you'd find in the larger stores and customer service . . . they know what it is!

Also, they carry a good selection of quality pet food brands.

They had the car keys in stock. they cut them and they work well!

This Ace hardware is brand new to the area, and conveniently located at the intersection of Penny and Kildare, which makes it an easy stop on the way home. Everybody was very pleasant, welcoming, and immediately offered assistance finding anything. They've got a small area with most everything I'd get my dog- food, supplies, toys, and treats (when she's good). I'm happy to have a non-box store nearby for quick part runs.

I'm really happy that this Ace hardware opened up near us. I love hardware stores in general, but Ace has a tendency to hire people with above average technical knowledge and experience in specific areas. I've gone in many times with projects including wood restoration, small engine repair and plumbing and every time there is someone in the building who is not only able to help me find what I'm looking for but also help me with the actual project planning. Don't go looking for a lumber yard, but if what you need is a general neighborhood hardware store, this is the place.

Wonderful service! Staff is friendly and helpful, if one person didn't know the answer, they would call over another associate who did. Glad to have such a quality store in the neighborhood.
