North Shore Farms

Truly one of a kind grocery store and the highlight of the area. Quality gourmet foods, fresh or prepackaged. Enormous cheese and fish selection. Excellent baked goods. It's fun just to browse this store, you never know what you'll find.

I have been away from shopping at NSF for more than a year now. But lately I am back again. Still, NSF is one of unbeatable local supermarkets in terms of quality, freshness, variety and very reasonably priced.
I particularly like the seafood department. Because like I mentioned in my previous reviews this section offers many fresh/ previous frozen organic/wild caught fish and other seafood. The display stand is always tidy and unsoiled. Yes, service should be the number one priority in any business besides quality. NSF certainly does not fall short on it.
Here, at NSF, the man who is the master behind the scene is Raymond (the manager of the seafood department I believe, also mentioned in my previous reviews). He is a few good men who has high EQ, has absolute street smartness and he interacts with customers. For example, today he asks me where I have gone for shopping because he hasn't seen me for so long. He remembers seafood I buy and offers me some very nice fish etc. the conversation is simple but makes me feel special and feel like an old friend. For that how any customers wouldn't be loyal?
Most staff who work at produce depart are also good. They seem to be caring and diligent. They make sure all produce are sparkling. They try to help you even they don't speak much English. That actually gives some characters to the store. Sometime, words are not necessary. Feel warm people more by actions.
In short, I am glad we have NSF in the neighbor.

Very friendly staff. Especially Chele, who kindly helped me find a specific item for me. The store was clean and organized.

Good selection of products including high end cheese varieties, fresh food, deli, produce, etc.

Really good, they have some of the best cuts of meats you can find in the area, they are a bit pricey but you are getting solid quality. They have perfect cuts and meat selected for BBQ's and their fruit is fantastic. The staff is always busy, so finding help can be difficult but they are friendly.

Very efficient and we'll organized. The deli department people are the best! I am here a lot. Now I have their weekly flyer via email. They are open from early a.m. to 10 p.m.

Most reasonable A grade green grocers in the area compared to the couple of ridiculously expensive organic food store on Forest Ave. They staff is always willing to help with picking fresh fruit. They will gladly help you pick ripe fruit and best vegetables. Super cooked food variety with plenty of samples available for tasting. Love this market. Total bang for your buck.

Tremendous cheese department. They have lots of prepared foods and various spreads, sauces, soups and pastas and organic produce. They do same day DELIVERY! A couple items were missing, but a very nice staff person had them delivered the same day thankfully since we really needed them. Thanks!

Great Small Supermarket that has pretty much everything, and they have a great selection of gourmet stuff, Their fruits are always fresh, their meat department is being upgraded at the moment but they have the best lean meat in town, their Deli has so much to offer, I feel the staff is always nice and friendly. Tom at the Deli has done a great job teaching everyone, Julio is great, Karim, MD everyone still works there after a long time.

A nice gourmet market, that is still priced well, very clean and organized! The produce, meat and seafood are fresh and well stocked. There's a sushi bar, deli and cooked foods along with breads, cheeses and prepared dips.

Great store. Nice deli, butcher and fish depts. Fresh home baked breads and pastries. Great cheese assortment. Often samples out. Good prices on many items but need to watch. Lots of fresh produce.

Amazing deli, great service. Most of their items are store-made. Really delicious marinara sauces. Love love their chicken parm. Desserts are tasty especially capucino yogurt muffins. Go go go....!

I love Northshore Farms. Everything from the Deli to the Prepared foods are great. I really don't do much in the grocery area but when I venture in there I always find what I need and I think it is priced fairly.

The staff seems o.k. and everyone I have spoken to speaks English and has been able to help me. Never had anything expired jump into my shopping cart. So far so good when it comes to Northshore. I rather go here than to the big brand supermarkets.

I honestly don't under stand some of the bad reviews on here. I don't get what people expect from Northshore when they shop a hug and a kiss on the way out? Its a super market for Christ sake.

Anyway I am glad Northsore came to Glen Cove.

By far the best North Shore Farms, for proactive, friendly customer interactions. It made shopping that much better. Observed and personally experienced how the employees kindness, respect, patience and honest interactions led to the customers extended the same interactions to other customers near them. The customers would engage others, making them part of the conversations. I've been to North Shore Farms in Port Washington, Glen Cove, Mineola, Great Neck, and, Whitestone. Love shopping at all the locations. But, the Glen Cove location, truly gets up front and personal with all their customers. The mgr takes feedback to heart and makes any necessary changes to address any problems or concerns. The employees behind the deli, service IS a 10. The store's layout and products are in your face, in a nice way. I wanted soup. I didn't know which one I should get. The customers showed me, right in my face were small cups to sample the soups. I loved it, and it contributed to me purchasing two different kinds of soup. No surprises when I got home. I already knew both soups were delicious. I always had a soft spot for North Shore Farms in Port. The deli there, everything was great. But, when I shop at the others for the same kale salad and, grilled salmon. Or, the chicken wing and or soup. I found the taste and presentation, was not the same. Well, the Glen Cove location reminded me why I enjoyed North Shore Farms, so much. Yes, well, hello, North Shore Farms, in Glen Cove, I'm back. P.S. I still won't buy fresh salmon. Personally, all NSF's are over priced, $19.99, $25.99 or $29.99lb. Love them, but will go elsewhere for fish.

Today I finally got a chance to ask him his name, the best fishmonger in my eyes, Ronald! So I can properly say "Thank you, Ronald, for making shopping at NSF that much more warmer and pleasant!

To posses traits of being a master with craftsmanship not only must you have unparalleled skills but evenly important to have integrity in my opinion if not more. Ronald got it all. He always prepares my fish cuts so neat like preparing for sashimi. He answers phone order with gentle and responsible voice. He is always attentive to customers.

Wait, have I mentioned Ronald also got some good people skills? He talks with confidence and street smartness. A business can have an employee like Ronald is like winning a lottery. People makes the essence of a business.
