Really informational and unique small factory of wool, showing you all the process from raw wool until apparel, in video, short description signs and self-explanatory observation from the decks of the working people. This is a good place to visit from kids to adults, to learn more about how this lifelong product arrives from the lands to our shops in the cities, explained in a pleasant and detailed manner. The entry is free and you can purchase some of the products fabricated in here, from garments to oils.

This was a great stop on our family road trip! Very interesting to see the process on the short self-guided tour. The kids loved meeting Yarnald the sheep and petting him. The building is just labeled "Wool Mill" and you need to drive around to the back side to enter the store.

Mountain Meadow Woolen mill was a great place to visit on our trip. It was off the beaten path and we almost missed it but I'm glad we persisted. I love to knit and was happy to find some beautiful yarn there. Even my husband found the tour interesting.

This was a great place to visit! My husband and I dropped in for the self-guided tour. They have a video playing in a room dedicated to educating the public on the wool milling process. In this room, there are examples of raw wool from different breeds, weaving looms to try, carding equipment and plenty of other things to keep all wool enthusiasts interested.

Outside of this room, you get a bird's-eye view of the facility with the ability to see the entire shop floor. Placards are placed around the railings where you can read about each step of the milling process.

In the gift shop, there's a great variety of machine-knit items, yarn and related things (notions, bags, etc.) available . I bought a sweater's quantity of yarn, with assistance from the clerk in the gift shop. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely come back to experience it again!

Very cool set up and the family had a great time seeing the process of wool that we all take for granted. Very nice tour guides!

Very interesting place to visit; we did the self-guided tour and learned a lot about processing raw fleece into yarn. The only negative is that Google Maps brought us in by the back way, which meant we had to dodge a water-filled pothole (sinkhole?) that probably could have swallowed a Volkswagen. Fortunately, the staff directed us out a different way.

My husband and I were traveling through Buffalo,Wyoming and saw this wool mill on Google maps so we stopped by and did the self guided tour. It was absolutely fascinating to learn about the wool from sheep to product. They have an awesome video to watch and hands on stages of the wool process upstairs. Also, from the upstairs you can see how the process is taking place.

I'd love to take my grandkids here. Anyone traveling this way, it's definitely worth the stop for kids or "older kids" like my husband and me. Can't wait to make a beautiful hat with the yarn I purchased. Love that this is an all American process.

Excellent tour! Very cool to see the process.

Updated 8/26/2021: They've updated their tour, so now you can feel the different types of wool, see how wool is colored, and a bunch of other stuff!

Also, more items in the store. Very Cool!

Very cute shop - but they have a big mission. From lamb to finished product, learn how wool is processed. They are helping the sheep ranchers and the sheep ranchers are helping them. Win-WIN!! You'll get a birdseye view of the machinery and information on how it all works!

We stopped in for a tour of the mill while we were staying at the KOA campground in Buffalo. They had a nice room set up with a video about the story behind the mill and their day to day operations. They also had samples of different types of wool and what it looks like in the different stages it goes through. Our boys had fun running the wool through the little crank machine they had set up. We watched from the loft area as the wool was spun into yarn on their large machine. Our boys’ favorite part of the tour was meeting the super friendly resident sheep, Yarnold! Though we didn’t purchase anything, they have a nice little shop up front with tons of colors of yarn for sale, as well as several products made from the yarn as well. Definitely make time to stop here for a tour if you’re passing through the area!

I toured Mountain Meadow Wool Mill several years ago during a short stay in Buffalo. I purchased a pullover sweater and hat. For years these have been my favorite and most used clothing during the fall and winter months in Santa Fe, NM. I just recently ordered another pullover sweater and beanie hat. Knowing these were made in the USA by small company owners/family and employees also makes a difference. The clothing is warm, comfortable, stylish and very reasonably priced.

Great place to learn about wool and the process to make clothes and other things. Interactive, you can weave, and there's also a store to buy locally made things.

Really enjoyed the experience. The videos were very informative, and the self-guided mini-tour was cool. The kids loved the interactive exhibits. The wool products are amazing! Expensive, but that's what quality is. Would def recommend this place!

We had a fantastic experience at the mill! Our tour was very interesting and the young kids in our group were just fascinated. I don’t knit or anything, but it was incredible to see the process that the wool goes through from start to finish. They have some cute stuff in their retail area as well. We bought a great hat and can’t wait to wear it! If you are in Buffalo, this is a great thing to come see. It’s a family owned and operated business too, which is just fantastic!

A must see place for any yarn enthusiast. Friendly, helpful staff showed us the mill. They were very knowledgeable about their products. The items for sale and yarn are affordably priced. I bought a lovely table runner and some yarn to make socks. I'm so glad we stopped.

Very informative factory tour. Such nice people work there, she went out of her way to find me the buffalo pillow. Beautiful knitted products and yarn. Tricky to find, drive to front of building and drive up "ramp" to parking area.
