The prices here are a bit higher than your average asian grocery store, but it was still fun to look around and explore. While they sell mostly food products, there were also some cosmetics and cooking/cleaning tools.

Great selection of Japanese imports, as well as bakery items and frozen foods. Milk tea and coffees available in a warmer, a real treat. Great produce but show up early because they go quickly.

Small Japanese grocery store that somehow packs a ton of good stuff into it. Japanese seasonings and soup stocks. A variety of sweet and savory snacks. Frozen goods like fish cakes, mochi, and dumplings. Drinks and desserts. Dried mushrooms and seaweed. Curry and stew base boxes. Furikake. Alcohol. A small section with cookware and beauty products. It’s a cute store packed with stuff, and the staff were friendly. I’d come more often if I lived closer!!

Parking is easiest in the rear. Nice selection of seedlings, great frozen food choices, things I haven’t tasted for years. They also carry health and beauty aids. I think I go there mostly to restock on the wasabi nametake.

According to a friend, many products here are local, and I have found gluten-free and/or vegan options. Also, one of the most interesting and delicious foods was the no shi mochi. The staff was helpful with introducing and finding particular goods or reading labels. It has been a wonderful experience exploring Japanese cuisine that suits my dietary need and preference. :)

I’m so glad there are parking spaces available. And I feel so good when I come here and see all those Japanese products and foods. They sell fresh vegetables from Japan, too.

Tetsu and staff were super helpful and patient assisting my girlfriend and I navigate the well stocked store. They are a wealth of knowledge and I can’t recommend this store more! Best experience and Tetsu’s recommendations on home made sushi + miso were amazing. If I could give more stars I would, shop here!!

Been going here for years and the amount of stuff they can cram into that little location astounds me… great selection of Japanese food and items. I especially love their onigiri. They have a pretty impressive freezer section, and I always get more than I can carry from the packaged meal section - no such thing as too many curry rice and miso soup packets!! And can’t forget their condiment section!

Ok but what finally pushed me to review after all these years is the fact they had amasake! I tried it at a ryokan in Japan this year and became obsessed with it but also sad because I doubted I’d fine it in the US. I decided to swing by maruichi and just see if they had it… and was honestly shocked that they did! Same brand and everything! This place really can’t be beat!

This is the best little shop that brings all of your love for Japan closer to home. They carry everything from freshly made Onigiri that's still warm to the touch, to all of your seasoning needs with a great Furikake selection. My wife and I always go for their Karaage seasoning packets to make a great quick meal at home. They have a selection of ramen, seasonings and sauces, snacks, frozen and refrigerated foods, cold and hot popular drinks and coffees, and don't forget the Sake as well. As well as your food needs, they do offer a small selection of personal hygiene products, and other home products. The staff here are always pleasant and willing to help you discover something new. All I can say is, Arigato!

My husband and I can't say enough good things about this shop. It is family owned and has a lovely selection of items, from groceries to beautiful bowls, to kitchen small appliances like rice cooker. The staff have also helped us to select ingredients and made suggestions for cooking Japanese dishes. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask staff, either at the store or by calling on the phone.

Once COVID-19 hit, my husband and I were sad to think we may not be able to visit one of our favorite shops. I am immune compromised, so we rely on curbside pickups and delivery for our groceries. Amazingly, in record time Maruchi built a website that could allow for pickup and home delivery. Each order has been so lovely and very fast-- usually the same day I order or the next day. Particularly in these trying times, it's great for my husband and I to enjoy creating Japanese dishes together. For fun, I added some photos of foods we made with Maruchi's ingredients, with beautiful bowl and plate purchased from their gift shop. Thank you, Maruchi!

Tons of familiar Japanese items squeezed into every square foot of this store. It seems like the regulars park behind the upper part of the building and come in through the entrance on the back side of the store. Too many options to list- if you miss Japan a trip here will help for sure! They even had fresh and warm onigiri by the register!

It is so hard to find Japanese specific grocery stores. At Maruichi, I appreciate being able to buy Japanese groceries without having to sift through aisles of Korean, Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc. foodstuffs like I have to at H-Mart or 99 Ranch.

The staff at Maruichi are kind and professional. They carry a little bit of everything Japanese, which is way more than I am ever successful finding at H-Mart or 99 Ranch.

And we always stop to eat at Temari downstairs. Love this place!!!

It feels like you're in Japan when you walk in the store which is a cool change and I would know I've never been there.

In all seriousness they have a wide variety of things and of course it's very clean.

Rare, authentic Japanese snacks and ingredients. The store layout makes it almost impossible to practice social distance, but people seems fine with masks. Super friendly staff.

The best little slice of heaven there is. I order their sushi grade salmon fish every couple of weeks and it is truly outstanding. I have never had poor quality anything from this grocery store. The owner and staff do a great job with their quality of service.

Cute little Japanese grocery store and gift shop, everything is reasonably priced and the employees are friendly and kind! It’s pretty small, but packed full of unique snacks and cute gift items. Definitely a great place to check out if you’re in the area ☺

Great little Japanese grocery store, often selling pretty rare/hard to find Japanese items. Some things they sell can be found online, but usually it's sold in bulk and is still more expensive than in-store.

Loved this place. I needed Japanese seasoning and found it here. The store is bigger than it looks on the outside. Very interesting selection of items. I want to go back and explore more!

They have saki, frozen foods, soups, seasonings, saki glasses... It's an assortment of various Japanese items. One thing I wish is that they had English translations. Some things I have no idea what they are. Either way, reasonable prices and I really like stores like these.

Maruichi is your best source for Japanese grocery items in the area. They carry essential Japanese cooking ingredients, fresh produce, frozen food, baked goods, snacks and dessert. They also carry household items like beauty products, shampoo, conditioner, dishes, bowls, etc.

Compared to H-mart and other grocery stores, the store is small. But they carry items that are near impossible to find anywhere else.
