Rushbrook General Store & Cafe

Each time I go to Rushbook, I like it more. The food is all delicious and served beautifully. It has a friendly local cool feel, which has to be attributed to the people working there. You feel welcomed each time you walk into Rushbook. The staff are all friendly and they want you to find the best thing for you to eat. Whenever we have friends visiting we can take a local walk with a stop for something to eat at Rushbook. Don’t forget to take home some soup or muffins for the next day.

I had breakfast at Rushbook six times, eating there or taking breakfast home. My goto is the Breakfast Burrito Pocket (chorizo, Mexican cheese, rice, eggs). It sounds good and tastes even better. My wife usually has the bacon, egg, cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll. She has also had the Breakfast Fried Rice Bowl, Baby Bear Smoothie Bowl and the Apple Crepe, and has enjoyed everything. She takes soup home when they have it. I love their home fries with my Burrito and I take half my breakfast home for the next morning..

West Saugerties needed a place where you can pick up incidentals and get something to eat. Sometimes it gets busy giving it a nice local atmosphere. When it’s busy you need to be patient as the food takes time, but is well worth the wait. Enjoy the atmosphere and drink some coffee as you wait.

BTW; Google took down my original review because it was posted before the official opening date of Rushbook. I updated my original review twice and I didn’t know it wasn’t live as it showed up on my Google Maps but didn’t on my wife’s Maps page. Looking into it, the Maps help page says all reviews posted before the official opening date of a business are taken down once the place opens.

Just got back from our third visit here, will absolutely keep coming back in the future. We try a new menu item each time and it's always delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. Depending on how busy it is food can either be fast or slow, but everything is scratch made and with attention to detail, so worth the wait. Good coffee, interesting menu items, and a very cool location. The general market also has a decent selection of items as well.
My only complaint is that they are only open for short hours! Would love to come her more often if they had more hours.

I can’t tell you how much we loved this place. Amazing! Everything is so fresh and delicious. The people who work here are the nicest and make you feel so welcome. The interior is so beautiful and it’s somewhere you just want to hang out at. Unfortunately, we stopped on our last day in Saugerties. We just stumbled upon it and decided to stop and before our drive home. The coffee is excellent, we had the most delicious blueberry muffins on the planet… the focaccia bread is lighter and fluffier than any I have ever had and makes the most delicious sandwiches. I had a bacon, egg and cheese on the softest roll. If I lived here, I would weigh 500 pounds, because I wouldn’t be able to stop eating here. You are going to love it… Don’t hesitate to stop here! We will definitely be back every time we are in the area. Thanks guys for everything, A+++

This place is absolutely perfect. It’s beautiful inside, the staff are so kind and friendly, the people who come here are neighbours and locals and the FOOD is absolutely exceptional. They are talented at what they do! We are so lucky to live nearby!! 🩷

Love it here! Great food, cozy atmosphere nice people and a little shopping too! So happy to have this little gem nearby.

Enjoyed a delicious huge sandwich on foccachia bread. The breakfast menu looks great, I'll definitely go back to try that next. Highly recommend the steamed vanilla chai.

Stopped in for breakfast and it was delicious, I had the bacon egg and cheese with homefries. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. Plenty of food and great prices!!!

Wonderful breakfast spot we found while staying in the area. Food was fresh and cooked to order and the staff/owners were so kind! The homemade muffins are a must if you stop by!

Me, My mom, and my son go here all the time!!! It is our favorite breakfast spot!! Delicious food!!! The staff is even better then the food, they always know how to make you feel welcome. Also good coffee and baked goods!! Diffinitely, a favorite we will see all of the staff again asap. Lori and Grady always know how to make us smile 😃

Signage could be better. I drove right past it and had to U-turn back.

I was glad to see that they included some diversity in their inventory.

My one suggestion is that you have a better array of touristy t-shirts. Perhaps some with the name Rushbrooke General Store & Café on them

Truly a hidden treasure at the foot of the catskills in west saugerties. Friendly people, large portions at a fair price. Our new favorite place.

We love this place! I go with my toddler and it's just a nice low key place to eat a REASONABLY priced meal (massive portions!) with friendly staff.

This wonderful addition to this beautiful neighborhood is pursuing a soft opening to insure that they can become a stable success. Open for breakfast until about 11 am right now. We stopped by for breakfast and had a wonderful egg sandwich with awesome potatoes and bacon. The salad served with breakfast were fresh greens, tomato and fresh raspberry with some delicious dressing. The new owners were very friendly and the service and atmosphere were very pleasant. I recommend keeping a close eye on this business and stopping by to take a look at the menu and order a sandwich. They have plans to expand to dinners and increase their hours of operation. You won’t be disappointed and we were happy to support this new business as it opens and grows in the community.

I grew up and live local and it’s nice to see a new business open, so I finally had a chance to stop in this morning and grab a few breakfast sandwiches, I was not disappointed. I picked up two, bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, now I asked for them plain, no salt, pepper or ketchup which I have to say as a person who normally douses his sandwiches with aforementioned condiments is unusual but it’s a new year, anyway, they were delicious, the fried eggs were perfect, perfect I tell you, the bacon was delicious and added the right about of saltiness topped by creamy cheese and sandwiches in between a toasted Kaiser roll, now to be fair I did add a little ketchup towards the last few bites and wish I hadn’t . I also bought a bacon egg and cheese on a cheddar biscuit that was equally as good sans the condiments. The store/shop was bright and clean, the staff/owners were friendly and engaging, there was a little wait for the sandwiches but it was time well spent talking with Gary about expanding hours, how chewy we prefer our bacon fat and our disdain for runny yolks and it was damn sure worth the wait for those eggs. Their hours are limited, for now and I’ve seen peoples reviews about it but anyone that has worked for a new small business especially in the food service business will understand and hopefully they’ll give them a second chance because those eggs were damn fine.

Delicious food and a cozy atmosphere! My daughter and I each had a beautiful plate of breakfast. I should have taken a pic but it looked so scrumptious that I forgot and started eating immediately!!! (Eggs over with toast and yummy breakfast potatoes, served along with some jam for my toast and a perfect bite of salad too)

This establishment is so inviting both on the exterior from the moment you pull in to the cozy country cafe seating in a relaxing atmosphere full of friendly faces. The food is outstanding and I have tried many items from the menu and all were amazing both in presentation and taste. The service staff is attentive and friendly and the cafe/ store is very clean. Will continue to be a regular customer

A bright, cheery and homey spot. The coffee was dark and rich. A varied breakfast menu. I had a generous portion of eggs with rice and yummy home fries, even better the next day.
Can’t wait until this charming cafe opens for lunch and dinner. Bravo, Jolene! You did good!

One of the best places for breakfast. Great spread Tasty. Includes several vegan options as well. Their home fries and sauce is out of the world!

The cafe is beautiful, Gary and Jolene did a wonderful job! The food is amazing, the portions are big. You will not leave hungry! I highly recommend Rushbrook Cafe!!
