Great location! Drive up here from the South Shore to pick up Agricola. They were nice enough to hold the game for me for a couple days! When I arrived they helped me locate an expansion as well! It was a popular store with lots of people playing games in the back. That was nice to see. It’s also in a very convenient location on Route 1.

I always have a great experience at the Saugus location. Everybody is so friendly and knowledgeable. If I ever need help, all the employees go above and beyond. I wish there was a location closer to me so I can support them more. Fantastic staff!

Wonderful game store, perfect for miniature painting supplies. Or for finding a DnD table to join.

My first visit on 12/4/22 was not quite what I expected. This hobby/card store/role playing destination featured some of the friendliest staff and players.

The store itself offers card and board games for purchase as well as many tables to host games and socialize. As an avid Dungeons and Dragons player, they offer dice and game books to suit many levels of play as well as covering a broad and varied subject matter within the game. All at reasonable prices.

The store also offers snacks and drinks and will not raise a fuss if you bring your own items into the store. However buying one or two items from their larder does help support the business.

Do not hesitate to check them out.

I don't usually write google reviews, but I had an absolutely incredible experience at Battleground Games last weekend. I was in the Salem area from out of town for the weekend and was looking for somewhere to play in the MTG LOTR prerelease. I called ahead and spoke with Michael over the phone. He was enthusiastic, courteous, and quickly answered all of my questions. I showed up for the 7:30PM prerelease and had an absolute blast. The store is clean, has a very generous gaming space, and has a ton of well organized MTG singles. The staff was very helpful and the folks playing in the prerelease at the store were very welcoming. I had a blast playing and would HIGHLY recommend this as a great place to play, especially if you're a local, or like me where looking for an event on your vacation. 10/10 would recommend

Love this store, friendly, knowledgeable staff, nice selection of individual MtG cards for sale, along with other games too. Large gaming area as well. Very clean and neat.

I've been to this location once to support them on their grand opening, but if I lived closer I would definitely visit more than that. This store has a great community. My partner and I brought a game with us (Scythe) and were able to play with 2 others that we just met. You won't find a more welcoming group of game stores!

This is the best local game store I have ever played at, and I have played at a LOT of local game stores. They have great organization, nice monitors posted in conspicuous locations with helpful information to run tournaments, and clearly labeled tables. The judges and organizers here are always fair and well prepared. Prize support for events is always fair and competitive, with most prizes allocated to the top scoring players, and plenty of promos are given out each night. Excellent place for playing card games and card game tournaments. They also offer a good selection of beverages and snacks, helpful for hungry gamers.
The main problem at this store is the mediocre inventory. It may be hard to find the cards, toys, board games, or gaming supplements you may want. This store's inventory is noticeably smaller than other stores in the area. While you can place an order at the counter for delivery of something from an online catalogue, the shipping is GLACIALLY slow. I often wait 3-4 weeks for delivery of a card or a game, and sometimes it doesn't arrive at all (but they offer a refund). Notably, they do NOT allow you to use store credit to pay entry fees for tournaments, further limiting options to spend your prize.
All in all, expect excellent organization, fair judges, spacious clean space, and good prize support for tournaments. Just don't expect a robust inventory of cards and games.

Great store and really friendly staff once you get to know them. Find a game that interest you and see if they have a community night for it, great way to start playing!

Only complaint is like so many other hobby stores it can be at times dominated by the magic crowd scene, but thats not really anything new.

Great selection of more interesting or obscure board games, plus Warhammer and other miniature games, Magic and other card games. Big selections, and the staff brings it together with knowledge and friendliness. They really nailed it in every way from games you might pick up to play to play with your kids to being able to join their regularly scheduled magic games at the tables.

Excellent game store north of Boston. Easy to get to, tons of products to choose from, great staff, and a lot of tablespace for gaming. They have events of various sorts nearly nightly. They even have an accessible restroom. I haven't tried it with my wheelchair yet, but have been able to use it on my crutches easily.

Great selection of magic: the gathering singles, deck sleeves and bundles. Big open area with lots of tables for game days. Real friendly and knowledgeable staff. They really made me feel welcome. I look forward to FNM!!

Discovered this shop while driving down the highway and saw their sign and I just had to check it out. This shop is awesome. The staff are so nice and very helpful. The selection is excellent. They carry all of the hard to find games and their even harder to find expansion sets.
