Big Lick Comics

In the area visiting family nearby and decided to visit. A huge store, much larger than it appears from the front. Some street parking but large lot in back of the store.

Tom and his brother were great hosts, taking time to explain their origins and family history dealing with antiques. Huge selection of comics, along with tons of figurines and hobby kits. As a comic collector of some 65+ years I was impressed with their knowledge and willingness to share.

If you’re a comics fan and in the area, be sure to stop in and look around. I stopped for a few minutes and stayed two hours!

Nicely sized store with many new and old comics! Love the mini arcade with the arcade 1up machines. Friendly staff. Willing to come back again whenever I'm in the area.

Just letting it be known that I am a comic book nerd. The store is huge, well maintained, a large selection of comics, manga, and memorabilia to choose from. A coffee bar inside the shop completes my love of the place. Just wish there were sugar free options. Also, Batman Day! Number 3 replica of the Batmobile outside the store, thanks to Eric for the throwback to my childhood. No shame in my game. Lots of Batman themed treats in the coffee bar, music from the Batman movies playing. Nice little touches that were appreciated. Went back yesterday to buy more comics. Will be back soon to buy more.

Exactly what Roanoke needed! Not just a comic book shop. A story. A destination for all things Marvel, DC, Star Wars etc. You’ll want to bring your kids because there’s things for them everywhere! Can’t wait to see what else unfolds here because it’s gonna be great!

I had to run in to pick up something from an employee and I had never been there and the store was really amazing. Everything from Star wars memorabilia to Harry Potter. Definitely worth a trip to come in and browse around.

Really helpful employees and a great selection of comics. If they don't have it they can easily find it and order it for you. Also a nice selection of collectibles and signed memorabilia.

Great new shop! The selection and service are top-notch. They sell an experience; not just comics and toys. Bring the kids! I have a child with autism and they are very understanding and friendly.

The store has recently expanded their key-issues wall. The new layout is even more open and inviting!

These guys are not just selling comics and toys. They are building a comic community in SW VA as they help promote and unite other stores as well.

Very nice, large, stylized comic book shop. My husband loves to stop here whenever we are in town and my son loves the overall playfulness of the store. Booths up front with coloring books and crayons for little ones. Large Funko assortment with other figurines, toys, memorabilia for sale in addition to comics. All the staff are extremely nice and knowledgeable about all the various titles they carry. Highly recommend!

Always my first stop for comics! Such a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment filled with fun easter eggs and chill music. The staff here are truly wonderful and fun to talk to. They remember your interests and cater to them by offering amazing suggestions for good reads and holding onto variant covers they think you’d like(thank you, Wayne!). Thanks for everything y’all do at BLC!

Met the red/blue ranger at Big lick. He was amazing very professional and caring. The staff was awesome super nice and very knowledgeable about the store and every question you could possibly ask. Most prices on things are decent. Some thigs ive seen better other places. Love this place wish they had more figures though.. they did have some i have been looking for.

As a previous owner of a comic book store and someone who ran a comic book store I have to say that I was VERY impressed with this store! Adam and JD are very friendly, the store itself is laid out well and their new issue wall is HUGE!!! I have had a good look at their back issues, toys and Graphic Novels and the prices are really nice for a store this size. I always like coming in when I'm in town to check them out to see what they have new. They even have an amazing kids section which is very rare in comic book stores! I think these guys are great and deserve the success that they have! I have seen less than positive reviews about them and I'm surprised because to my mind this is the best comic book store in the area!

Put this place on your to do list. This store is fantastic. Great place to purchase comics and comic related collectibles. The showroom has plenty of room to browse , a big selection and the decor is awesome. They also have a small Cafe that sells H& C coffee and there are seats for you to sit and read. Facilities are clean and merchandise is displayed with neatness , organized, and easy to find. The staff is very knowledgeable , friendly and makes you feel welcome.

HUGE selection of comics and other awesome comic-related merchandise. The store is well-lit, clean and not overcrowded with items like other comic stores I have frequented. Owner is incredibly helpful and a delight to work with! Thankful to have this place in Roanoke!

Wonderful store and a fantastic atmosphere. The fellas that run the place are very knowledgeable and are always happy to help you. You can walk in the place right off the street, no appointment needed and feel like you are truly welcomed. Great prices with a great selection of comics, old and new. Easily one of the best comic book stores. If you're in Roanoke Virginia I highly recommend stopping in.

This place is fantastic and both of the owners are really genuinely nice. We took in a bunch of comic books that were inherited with the amount being well over 300. They went through them all individually and gave us the total value of what they all were worth. Then they gave us a generous percentage of that amount so that they could still make profit given the sheer amount of comic books that we gave them. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone and will be coming back again in the future.

I have been to many comic book shops. Big Lick is by far the best shop I've ever been to. Hands down the best atmosphere in any comic book shop. Love the place.

Awesome new shop!! Super friendly . The gentleman let me come on in and shop even though he was closing up. There is a nice big wall of comics. There is a nice size selection of back issues. The holy grail of the shop is really cool. I highly suggest stopping in at this store. Lots of first appearance books. Highly sought afters . Thanks Big Lick Comics👍
