The Beer Trappe

About as good of a beer spot as you're going to get in Lexington, without the hype of some of the places across town. There is always a great collection of eight or more beers in draft here, and a few hundred bottles ranging from the normal to the aged and exotic. Kevin is beyond knowledgeable, and will guide you to the right pour for you every time.

This place started my craft beer journey many years ago! Always the best and diverse beer selection in the Lexington area. As always, talk to Kevin as his passion for beer is extraordinary! Cheers!

I love trying new, unique craft beer and this is definitely the place to find it. The selection is great and the bartender was very helpful. Support this local business by stopping in and having a cold beer on tap or making your own 6 pack to take home.

This is My Boyfriend's favorite place to just come and relax with a. ice cold beer and his cigar. Great staff and so many delicious beers to choose from. If you want to know about the beer your drinking go to the class that's offered on Sunday's starting at 6pm. Very interesting and a lot of Knowledge

Great beer selection, Intimate atmosphere, wonderful service.

Definitely a place to go if you shy away from the usual cheap draft. A wonderful variety of craft and imported beer on tap and in bottles. Knowledgeable and helpful staff at the bar and and an impressive wall of beer for sale by the bottle in the back. Quiet music, relaxed interior, the perfect place to go to for a hearty, rare brew. If I lived in Lexington, I would make the trip to this part of town every Friday. And maybe again on Saturday!

Absolutely incredible beer selection. The bottle list is on par with some of my favorite belgian bars in Brussels and Bruges, and they have some excellent beers on draught. The staff is friendly too. I'll definitely plan to go by this bar next time I'm in Lexington!

Overall, this place is a good place to have a beer if you want to chill and relax with good company. The atmosphere is cozy with the dark-colored bar, wood floors, and overall darker-colored theme. The music playing is at just the right volume to enjoy and be able to comfortably talk and hear over, no shouting required. The barkeep was very knowledgeable about types of beer and even hosts a Beer Sunday School on Sunday evenings. The amount and variety of beers on tap was just right with beers ranging from dark imperials to IPAs to fruity sours. Across one wall are shelves of a wide and diverse variety of beers to buy for immediate consumption or to take home. Definitely a good place to wind down and relax after a long day of work or vacationing in Lexington.

Our host Kevin and all the patrons were so friendly and welcoming. We had a great evening! Especially our little dog Magnet out in front with us while we enjoyed delicious Belgian beer! We will be back!!

I LOVED this place. I was passing through on the way home to TN and absolutely loved the bar, the selection, and the GM working there, Kevin (I think was his name). Thanks for taking time talking to us, and giving us a fun history run down of the place. We'll have to stop there again next time we're that way!

Always have a great beer selection! If they don't have the type of beer you are looking for on draft, they definitely do in a bottle. The staff is very friendly and really knows their stuff. I usually stick to draft but since they didn't have an IPA on draft at the time, I was offered a canned beer and it was awesome!

Friendly people, comfortable atmosphere, awesome beer selection. The resident cicerone is not only extremely knowledgeable about every step of the brewing process, beer history and styles, and the latest trends and techniques, he is also funny and approachable, and he hosts a great beer school on Sundays.

The incredible selection presented at Berr Trappe is exactly as good as you've been told! A selection on tap unlike anything else in Lexington, with one of (if not the) the most knowledgeable men on beer behind the counter. The shop itself doubles as a store, offering a selection of bottled and canned beer that you won't have at the largest Liquor Barn or total food in town. The restaurant next door also allows you to walk over and place orders for food to be brought to the Beer Trappe. Get the fish tacos.

Great place to have an imported or craft beer. They do not have Domestic beers such as Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller Lite, etc.

Probably the best selection of singles and out of state craft beer in town can be found here. Their tap selection rotates often with varying themes. Prices are about standard for craft on tap around the midwest. Dont expect to grab a bud-lite here.
