Bamber's Superette Food Market

Amazing grocery store and my new favorite place in the area. They have things that I’ve never been able to find at local stores and typically order online. While there are some items that are more expensive than major grocery stores are, the exclusivity of authentic items at Bambers and knowing you’re supporting a small business makes it completely worth it to me. The cleanliness, organization, attention to detail, and authenticity are phenomenal.

Fantastic grocery store. Clean, welcoming environment. Great wine and cheese selection, fabulous meats. This is the place to go for Italian specialty foods. The owner is great and the service is the best. In business since 1950!

Fantastic small independent grocery store, for pre-made items and imported foods. Can definitely be a bit costly, but this is where you go for the really really good stuff, not the oscar myer hot dogs.

This place is a must-go before your next Italian meal! Great selections, including Italian wines. Owners are super knowledgeable and helpful.

A hidden gem. The variety is astounding, and the quality is as good as it gets. There are specialty items that I can only find there.
The fresh bread alone is worth the trip.

Items are great able to made the recipes that have been handed down and they tasted like grandma did.

Simply put, the pictures says it all. Family owned. The couple that owns this place knows their store inside and out. Got a question about olives? Just ask and they will not steer you wrong. At least that is what they did for me.

Wide selection of all things Italian and beyond. Lots of fresh produce. Wide selection of cheeses. And the pastries in the case look fantastic and smell out of this world.

Adorable little market that is packed with great ingredients. Picked up some guanciale and amazing pasta to make a carbonara… the lady who check me out guessed right away what I was attempting and gave me tips to make the perfect dish. I appreciated this market!

My favorite place to shop for specialty items. Their wine selection is phenomenal and the owners are always on hand to provide answers to questions.

This little Italian boutique is awesome. They can be a bit pricey, but they have quite a few things you can’t find anywhere else in the area. Check out their homemade HUGE meatballs in their deli counter. There is adequate off-street parking on the property.

A boutique Italian market. The family who runs it is just lovely. Almost everything there is either imported from Italy or fresh baked by the owners. They also have fresh produce. Their prices seem higher, but it is only because they sell higher quality products than regular supermarkets. The place is highly recommended. One of the best locally owned stores in town.

More than just an Italian Grocery store. Bamber’s has many High End gourmet foods and spices. The Vegatables, Wild Caught Salmon and Amish Chicken were outstanding. The owner is usually there keeping things in order and pitches in at the Check-Out. Plus they only provide Brown Paper Bags!

A truly gourmet market and a South Bend experience. I always find the specific, and sometimes rare, item I came in for and ALWAYS come out with more than I came to get because there are discoveries to be made. This is also my go-to for Beaujolais Nouveau Day.

Amazing place! As an Italian living in South Bend, the wide variety of authentic Italian foods is incredible. Great selections of meats, cheese, pasta, and more! The employees are very friendly and helpful. I recently discovered this place, but I have already been back many times.

Bambers is a special place. The variety of unique imported items is astounding. If you are looking to make that special dinner with quality ingredients you have to shop here. And of course they have your everyday needs as well. And if you're looking for catering or specialty food baskets this is the place. The service that Gene and Gini provide is awesome.

Wonderful little neighborhood gem right next to the South Bend Farmers Market. They offer plenty of speciality, European food items you will never find anywhere else in town. Great wine and olive oil selections. Lots of people in the area, don't even know it's there. The employees truly care about the products they offer and are always willing to help. It's always worth a peek inside just to see what they have. I never go home empty-handed.

Stocked up on Italian favorites. Lovely store, great selection, and very friendly staff. The Italian cookies were delicious.

Best specialty grocery in our area. Many items that aren’t carried by the bigger stores . Gene and Gini are incredibly friendly and helpful. Their breads and deli items are freshly made and delicious. If you’re making a Lasagna or any recipe that calls for Italian sausage, use theirs. I can’t recommend it more.
