Hello I'm new to the area I'm so glad I found a real hardware store I was so happy and I couldn't believe how low the prices were I needed some sealant for a gas line and a battery normally I would have just ordered it through the internet but the prices were better here and I really wanted it right away this is going to be my go-to place thanks guys and gals great job. Please help support local businesses don't worry about the corporate places because they're not worried about you. Thanks again guys and gals

This is a wonderful hardware store! My husband loves to visit because he knows that the staff will be able to answer any questions he has. They're always friendly and happy to help.

These guys are amazing. First time toilet repair, they talked me through it, it went perfectly. So many times I have come here with a hardware problem and they have exactly what I need and are happy to help me. If all businesses were run like this one, the world would be a much better place.

This place is great! The guys there are always so helpful and knowledgeable. These guys will tell you what they think you need even if they don't carry that item. The store isn't very big but they have a little bit of everything and what they don't have they can order. Most people don't know but they also have a huge supply of plumbing materials in the back and can help with that as well! The best part about the Builders Store is that it is locally owned and operated. This is my favorite place to shop for home repair and improvement. 😁👍👍

I had heard legends about how good this place was, and they did not disappoint when I came to purchase some stuff for a home project. Old-fashioned quality and service that beats any big box chain out there. Will only go here for any future hardware needs.

Very helpful staff!! Answered all my question's and even understood me as I was trying to explain thing's I needed in not so technical terms!! The gentleman at the counter helped me in deciding on a different all in one screwdriver then the one I was going to buy and the one he told me about that I wound up purchasing was significantly cheaper than the one I was originally going to buy! You just don't find that kind of service in a big box store!

Just love the neighborhood hardware store! Fantastic customer service! I always stop there first for what I'm looking for. Prices are a little bit higher than the big competitors, however adding up fuel, my time driving across town, and little to no customer service, I'm saving money. Keep up the good work guy's your much appreciated

Made keys and when they didn't work correctly they fixed them no problem. Helpped me to find a cure for my 🌹 roses and are so helpful from the time you walk in the door until you walk out of it!

About 6 months back I was looking for a part to fix a dripping faucet, something I had never done before. After spending an hour each at Lowe's and Home Depot with no results, it was suggested I try Builders Store. I was greeted as I came in the door and after a brief wait while they finished helping another customer, they helped me find the part I was looking for and figure out exactly which version I needed for my faucet. After talking for another minute to get some details about the problem I was having, they then told me that rather than buy the $15 stem kit I had asked for, I could just replace the seat washer on the stem for $3 and keep the stem. Worked perfectly and it's become my go to hardware store from then on.

The Builder Store is the greatest hardware store in South Bend! The customer service is wonderful, the guys are all so helpful in finding exactly what you need for any project.

This is a very special place. You're certain to find exactly what you're looking for, whether that's hardware, gardening supplies, tools or paint. However, what made me fall in love with this store is that the owners/employees are always friendly and willing to share their excellent advice with customers. I've never been disappointed, and I've learned a thing or two.

A true old fashioned hardware store like we used to have everywhere they take pride in helping you find exactly what you need to get your job done right I definitely recommend this store

The Builder's Store remains a bastion of Americana, tucked in the corner of an old fashioned commercial avenue, serving a neighborhood that has itself remained largely the same for the better part of a century. The staff are knowledgeable and perfectly helpful in both helping customers find what they need, and in offering expert advice on whatever projects brought them into the store. In an age where big box retail has largely rendered these stores extinct, the Builder's Store is a treasure.

i have no idea why I or anyone else would go to home depot when the people there often times dont know anything. not even where items are. let alone complex questions.
If you come here there will be several very wise gentlemen there to help. they cut keys which are perfect. they are super helpful & right in the neighborhood.

The best customer service around. Very experienced, very knowledgable, friendly guys who have a surprising amount of stuff for a local hardware store in this day and age. Perfect for the neighborhood where the houses are also old and smart (looking).

I <3 this store! The gentleman who own it, clearly know their stuff. I am fascinated by the gadgets everywhere, I've used the side of their building for some beautiful photographs of my daughters, they are a community gem.
