Prairy Market & Deli

We loved stopping by Prairy Market & Deli on our way through town to eat lunch and grab some snacks for the road. They have delicious soups made in house, boxed sandwiches with their bread baked in store, and snacks from local producers in their grab and go section. We loved their beef & barley soup, their hummus, and ate a ginger snap cream pie for dessert. They have local ice cream and some items in bulk too! Several of their packaged items contribute to the 1% for the tallgrass prairie program - we bought some German Pfeffernusse cookies to support. All around a great store!

Amazing place to eat and shop! Clearly marked gluten free items that are so good to eat! Look at this soup! There is also gluten free desserts! Just look at that gluten free donut!!! Very clean and friendly!

The atmosphere is Soo good. Staff is Soo nice. A lot of vegan/ vegetarian friendly options. I 100% recommend there macaroni and cheese it is Soo good!!!

Love it. You have to get the pfeffernusse cookies. I prefer the lemon or orange cream. Buy local.

Locally sourced items, fruits, veggies, ice creams, cheese curds, cabbage burgers etc. Beautiful specialty items also, including homemade in store, granola and delicious German pfeffernusse. Non toxic skin care and household products Galore. Cozy and inviting atmosphere. Deli and fresh baked items also. This store is simply amazing.

Everything you need for a delicious, nutritious, locally-sourced meal. Excellent service from wonderful and knowledgeable market staff. Don't have time to make supper, they even offer their delicious lunch counter meals in the freezer section! What else can we say about Prairy Market? ...

Prairie Harvest has a great variety of items. From personal care items, groceries to health supplements, they have it all. They place a unique emphasis on local food products that support the community. They also have seating inside the store. Their lunch options + Thursday dinner options are always terrific meals that are healthy and can be done on a budget. My personal favorite is combining the vegetable chili with the mac & cheese on Saturdays.

Oh my gosh, I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could. Everything about it is a joy - from the space it's housed in to the products they sell, and the way they're displayed. There's so much that's natural, or local, or fair trade, or all of the above - if I lived in Newton I would shop here all the time. I love the deli and the sunny sitting space, and I was excited to see real peppernuts on sale! Lovely space and great items. Visit; you won't be disappointed :)

Great place to shop and eat. Their deli has some of the best food in town - and you get a great portion for the price. They even have many of their deli items available as frozen meals you can take home and pop in the oven for dinner. The event space above the store, which is operated by the same owners, is also top-notch. If you're in Newton, stopping by PHarv is a must.
