A great neighborhood gem. I showed up with kids, going fishing for the first time. The store is packed with stuff and the owner was friendly and happy to share tips for a sport he clearly has a passion for.

The man was super helpful. We wanted recommendations on where to fish in the area, and he took us through the full process, great guy.

Captain Morgan Is the place To go for all your fishing tackle and bait needs. If you have any questions about the local hotspots or what bait is working in a particular Time or spot the captain knows. His weekly advice column in the source and online is a must-read 4 all Anglers. If you need a gift for hard-to-shop-for dude wander around a few minutes in the shop and you will find it.

I have not been there for several years but have always had a good experience in this store. My five stars go out to this guy just for his responses below. Good for him! FINALLY, someone who owns their own place and isn't afraid to stand up for himself and his business. Clearly a bunch of self centered, entitled, self important babies crying in here! I bet my hat that if 99% of you showed a little respect and common courtesy you would have had a better time in there. It hurts when you realize the world doesn't owe you something? Well, I'll be in the store next week to pick up some crabbing stuff and hopefully a fishing license and will definitely give this man an ATTA BOY for sticking up to your types. I'm sure he's glad you won't be back. I'll be sure to show him how to remove some of your terrible reviews that are so obviously YOU just taking your wounded pride out on the business. Try acting like an observant, caring and empathetic human being and you might be surprised how pleasant your experiences are.

Just a quick trip this time, but they always have what I need and the owner was quite helpful. I'm not a devout fisher so I find it best to ask for as much help as possible! If you want to get the most help, go during the week, a few days before you want to fish and nicely explain what kind of fishing you want to do. Lots of great experience and knowledge is available for the price of some equipment you are going to need anyway.
A perfect example of why buying local is so important!

Captain Morgan does a fantastic job helping people who want to catch fish. He is not at all arrogant as some have said and he is very knowledgeable about where the fish are biting and what you need to catch them.

I periodically stop by to get some advice and buy some tackle and the guy is always helpful. Also...just wanted to mention this...last week he gave me a ton of advice, fresh bait and I was able to bag 5 nice stripers. Honestly, this guy is great and if you are in a rush...just tell him.

Came in to find clamming gear not available online or several weeks out for delivery. I got it here. A real gentleman and respectful. I guess you'll find what you are looking for. Local knowledge and respect.

Capt. Morgan has been giving out free fishing advice (and weekly online reports) for about 20 years. Yes- its pricey stuff, but this is RT1 in Madison, that's a given... Excellent quality tackle and saltwater bait variety. You will not find a better made clam rake than the stainless steel ones he's got there. Also, his shop is a weigh-in location for the annual Bluefish tournament.

Very helpful, advised on bait and locations. Fair prices. Wear a mask, his wife is very sick. No big deal.

Captain is a real pro. He guided me to bait that aligned with fish in the area and threw in some pointers.
