This spice shop is so adorable and fun to visit! We had a wonderful experience here and we will definitely return next time we need a restock on spices, or we are looking for something out of the ordinary. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in and the customer service was incredible during our entire visit. I would rate the customer service above 5 starts if I could. A very sweet woman helped us and although I did not get her name I hope that somehow the store manager sees this and is able to pass along our kind words to her. She was so outgoing and friendly from the second we walked in, she made incredible recommendations and just overall was a joy to be around. We went around 1:30pm on Monday 1/29. We purchased some rose water to use for baking after seeing great feedback about it online in comparison to others that I could find on Amazon or anywhere else. Everything here was also so affordable and the rose water I purchased seemed like great quality and was cheaper than other brands. We got the everything aioli and the rose water which was only about $15 all together, then they gave us a very large sample of another spice that we cannot wait to try. We will absolutely come back here again. With my experience as well as the other positive reviews for this place, it is clear that this store is loved and cared for by whoever runs it and I will be recommending to anyone that I can.

This place has really taken my food to the next level. Everything here tastes so fresh and vibrant. Not only do they have all of the traditional spices, but also loads of unique world spices as well.

From the selection of Durant olive oil and vinegars to the incredible Silagy Sauce to the fragrant alder wood smoked salts, I really can't recommend this place enough.

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly as well. This is a gem in sellwood.

Great selection, and great experience. I was happy to see the attendant earlier today (whose name I didn't catch - I'm sorry. He was shorter than 5'10" and had dirty blonde hair iirc) knew and warned me about the risks of curing salt, and made a nice orange brownie. Great job!

My fiance and I loved this shop! We cook at home a lot, and this store had us so excited. Everything is neat and easy to find while having a whimsical sense to the experience. We are sure to be back. The owner was extremely nice, as were the rest of the staff.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Most darling little shop with a huge selection and lots of samples. The jams and chocolate bars are to die for!

The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. It's a fantastic place to find some of the more exotic spices that grocery stores just don't carry. It's also filled with plenty of specialized mixed blends. Some are their own creation, the have a small food lab in the store, some are award winners, from BBQ competitions and the like.

So, needless to say, I can't recommend this place enough.
Im actually about to smoke a 6lb prime rib, and I'm going to drive (something I dont really enjoy) across town in rush hour, just so I can pick up whatever dry rub they recommend for this $100 piece of meat.

This shop smells SOOO good! Very helpful folks and a huge selection of spices and blends. Definitely have to go back!

Savory Spice in Sellwood is always a delight to visit. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! We've left with not only delicious spices but creative ways in which to use them. The birthday month sample is a treat as well to try out something new!

Such a wonderful experience! It feels silly to talk about the experience of a spice store but the staff were so helpful and friendly. The selection is amazing and so fun to check out! If you’re looking to ~spice~ up your life in the best way, come here.

This is truly the perfect shop to inspire your inner chief! The second you walk in, you’re hit with an abundance of delicious aromas. In fact, the store carries over 500 different flavors from cuisines all across the glode! Jim was so informative and friendly and let us try a few of his amazing samples! I tried the Smoked Shoyu and absolutely loved it! Also, they have an incredible lineup of cooking classes hosted in house.

Since this shop open I have found more excuses to drive the distance to shop there. I enjoy the variety and it, to me at least, the spices have a more depth of flavor then what you will find elsewhere.
The staff is always helpful and friendly with suggestions.
The premixed package of species (Spice and easy) for a meal is always a good go to if you let trying to decide what to make for dinner.

One smell of this shop will leave you practically intoxicated. We have filled our spice cabinet with products from this shop and it has enhanced every single dish we have cooked. The owner is so kind and helpful, as is the rest of the staff. Completely worth the extra price versus buying at a grocery store. I look forward to every trip here!

The staff here is always so kind & helpful. They are very knowledgeable about all of their products & can make recommendations. They usually have some kind of interesting sample available too.
I love their products, high quality & affordable.

We're pleased and long term customers. We'll drive all the way across town just to pick up a couple of things. Usually we head home with more than what we had on our list. Customer service and selection are both top-notch.

Great selection of spices! I came in specifically for dried corn (for baking) and they didn't have any of the size I wanted so the person helping me made a larger size for me! They were also super sweet and helpful when they rang up my corn and spices and gave me a sample of lime chili powder that I'm going to try on elotes. My dad got to sample some black garlic chili oil and some kind of fun popcorn so he was happy while I was getting my very specific spices. Overall, an excellent experience!

An update on my review from when I first shopped at the store 2 months ago. The Sellwood shop besides having an exceptional assortment of spices and blends has staff that is so helpful.
Very Favorites so far are the Black Garlic Salt and the KM Kansas City BBQ Rub.
It is nice how they will give you a small sample if you would like to try something before buying it. if you cannot get in to the shop they will quickly mail you your order.

We've shopped here before, the product is high quality and unique. Though, this review is dedicated to the unbelievable staff. Highly knowledgable of not just the spices but also varying cuisines and cooking techniques. They were extremely personable. Jim, the store manager had lots of suggestions for spices we could use with smoke cooking! Ocean completed our checkout and was also extremely passionate about working with all the spices. We loved witnessing their enthusiasm. Repeat customers, for sure!

Went in today to pick up some Aleppo pepper for a dish and got treated to a fantastic tasting by Cy. Every time I visit Savory it is truly a treat. Can not recommend this store and the amazing staff enough.

I've been a customer of Savory Spice for some time now, but this was my first visit to the Sellwood store. The staff is courteous, helpful and very well trained in regards to working in this store.

Now onto the spices. I reuse my bottles and choose to buy the packages to refill them. This saves on the cost. But to be honest, you'll pay less if you buy a top quality spice from this store than you would if you were to go to the grocery store. The spices are fresh and I absolutely hate to buy store bought spices now.

They also sell local olive oils and honey as well as other things.

I encourage you to stop in and peruse. They aren't pushy and love to educate.
