This hardware store is a time capsule! This is an old school hardware store also with hobby items like models and model trains. There is also old cars in the back of this store you can view. The best part is its locally owned and willing to help you find anything your looking for.

Very nice people they have everything you need if you are into modeling or trains dioramas.

Where to start, first the proprietor lets me in with a friendly smile and encouragement to look around , even though it was one minute until posted closing time.

I was overwhelmed at the shop. I first spotted model trains, as a smile found my face. Thinking back to my childhood and the set we put together it was shops like this we would go to. Pressing on I found a vast selection of models to be had. Builders heaven!!

Now to sound like a infomercial.....but wait there's more. Wandering further I found this is not a hobby shop but a hardware store also. But not a corporate big box store but a honest to Gods hardware store from yesteryear. A place to grab a pound of eight penny nails from the bin and scoop, to the iconic display case of pocket knives of every make and model. The only thing missing from your standard movie set of a hardware store is the pickle barrel with the checkers game being played.

Dotted throughout and on display are antiques of remarkable quality. If nothing else, you will find something that will spark your interest in this store. This should be listed as a national landmark. It's a true piece of Americana and I'm still grinning for my experience there. Do yourself a favor. Take the trip. Just look around and remember what it used to be to go shopping in an event. A pleasure and experience with a friendly smile. This place is everything chain hardware stores wished they were. Knowledgeable, friendly, and family owned energy. They have been around since before I can remember and if they don't have it, you probably don't need it anyway.

Huge selection. From hardware to model cars to decorations, they have so much to see. Friendly staff. Lots of Howland history inside the store too so be sure to look around.

This is a very interesting place to visit. Not your typical store. So many different things to look at. And the variety is great.

Great place for all your general hardware needs, odds and ends, and also hobby stuff like model trains and model kits. I'm in and out quick with less hassle than the big box stores. Support your local businesses as they deserve it. Prices are just as competitive as big box stores.

This is a unique throwback to yesteryear! There are many antique items on display from toys to old appliances, a very old style phone and cars. He carries tried and true cleaning supplies and wide varieties of screws, bolts, nails and nuts. Will fix window screens for you. Will offer helpful ideas on a project if asked.
And do not forget the model car and train area, complete with a train layout!

Specialize in toy trains such as Lionel and the like. It amazes me to view their inventory of trains AND TRAINS WAITING!!! This is also a completely stocked hardware store. If you're looking for anything specific in either category they've got you covered. If they don't have it in stock they'll get it special ordered for you! Support this establishment, you'll be glad you did!

My sons favorite place to spend his allowance or just stop in to say hi and look around! He loves all the trains but theres a little bit of everything here and a lot of history! Family owned and operated for longer than anyone can remember you won't find nicer more helpful folks! If you want that nice oldfahion general store experience this is the place to go! And dont forget to give the cats a little love while your looking around ;)

Harm is a great guy and he is very good at ordering things in for my husband when he needs something for his n scale trains. We also get odds and end items for around the house that the big stores don't carry or ran out of.

Nice local hardware store. When no one in town had snow shovels for sale - they had an entire wall! Check here for random items & all your hardware needs.

If this place don't have it you are probably not going to find it and if you have extra time to to just walk throug the place and see all the old collections of stuff almost like a museum part store hobby store home improvement mechanics shop landscaping and more prices are so so but is not big box store just loved the place they have so much 😀 😊

You can find a bit of anything here. It's a neighborhood staple. Love this place. Plus many fond childhood memories going with my Papaw to get things.

I go to Andrew's once a month to but 1.64th scale model die cast cars one of the best hobby shops and hardware stores combo very awesome and that make you feel at home lots of antiques like steam car old mini bikes and working player piano just awesome a must try you'll be back
