El Amigo Mexican Restaurant

This is some of THEE BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had!!! The restaurant is big with plenty of seating & parking & the service was pretty good as well. I ordered the fish & it ended up being 2 huge pieces of grilled fish & it was DELICIOUS!!! I also tried the margarita flights which were also bigger than expected but were good as well. Food portions are definitely hefty & you’ll definitely be full afterwards 😋

I’m gonna start with the margarita! It’s the first thing I order when I come to a Mexican restaurant and it also determines if I’m gonna order food! So I ordered the house Margarita and that gets a 5/5. For it to be a house it was very good and I felt the buzz. The food was good and seasoned. I ordered the fajitas that had chorizo, steak and chicken. Very flavorful and great portion of meat. My husband ordered the fajita nachos, he loved it but said the cheese sauce was very watery which gives it a 4/5. Great and clean atmosphere and service was great! Highly recommend!

My wife and I went there today with some friends and she had a California burrito which is absolutely excellent. I would highly recommend it. APC with chicken was also good. I had the combination plate and it was good but not very filling. Service was good. Restaurant is clean. Bathrooms are also clean will go back for sure.

The ever prevailing question for me when I visit a New Mexican restaurant is always: Do they have lunch/cheap Texas fajitas?
Yes, El Amigo does have them.
If you’re traveling on i85 passing through concord, it’s a bit off the path but definitely worth the few minutes it takes to get there.
Service was fantastic, food was delicious. Texas fajitas weren’t over cooked, and were seasoned just right. There is plenty of seating so you don’t feel cramped, and everything seemed extremely clean. I Will definitely be back.

From the moment we walked in it was a great experience. The hostess was warm and friendly. She saw that I am pregnant (9 months belly is huge) she sat as at a booth I could fit in. She was very considerate. I asked where the restroom was she asked me there herself. I mean stellar customer service. Waitress was great as well. Fast service. And the food was super authentic! El Amigo is topped our cuisine list.

Pretty typical Mexican fare as far as what they offer on their menu. However, when I compared them to others online, their menu was a bit more extensive than their competition. The grilled shrimp tacos I ordered were really good, and their tableside guacamole was delicious and made very meticulously! If you're in the area, definitely check them out!

An issue I run into with Mexican restaurants is that they all seem to taste the same. I see this especially with combo plates. I ordered a combo plate here the other night, and while some of the items tasted the same as other restaurants some were definitely better. I really enjoyed the poblano. The salsa and queso were super flavorful and that’s one of the things I scrutinize the most. I did not order a margarita but I heard they have the best ones around. The service was good, the restaurant was clean. The amount of food for the price was unbeatable. I’ll be back for sure. Also if you’re wondering, they serve Pepsi products.

It was Cinco de Mayo and the food was delicious. They were slammed busy but nothing was lacking at all. It was my first time here. I'd definitely return

This is out go-to spot for a local Mexican restaurant. We eat here usually 2-3 times a month. Service and food are great! We enjoy the chips-salsa, ACP, California Burrito and Taco Salad. Highly recommended for everyone that enjoys Mexican food!!

Yo... amazing. Best margaritas, we had the mango pitcher. The California burrito is top notch. For kids?... a great selection of food. Ask for the SPICY salsa and ride that capsasin until your food comes out! Our waitress was so friendly and fun. Bring the family! This place is popular so don’t be surprised at a little bit of a wait!

Usually have dinner there at least once a month and we always have a very good meal and fast efficient service. Staff are all very friendly and prices are good. Highly recommend this place.

The food was very good and the owner was extremely nice!!! I just moved to the area and will definitely be coming back!! I will say that the margaritas are too sweet/sugary for me.

Ive never had seafood fajitas and let me tell you it was sooooo good . Boderline euphoric with my picture of margarita. Also had the elote and 3 el pastor street tacos and those were amazing as well. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant is busy but the staff is very good and customer oriented. Awesome dishes and atmosphere inside.

If you want real authentic Mexican food this is the place to go. Handmade tortillas, great staff, well clean. Plenty of plates to choose from. Final un restaurante auténtico mexicano con tortillas hecho a mano.

OMG the best food ever!! Usually very good service. Last 2 times service was slow and waitress was fast and rude! The 5 stars are for the food!!

This food was so good I needed to be by myself so I could take a biscuit and clean my plate with it. I will definitely be back this was my first time checking out this spot.

Easily the best Mexican restaurant I've ate at in the Charlotte area. The food was fresh and the quality was on point. And the prices are also really good. I'd definitely recommend trying this restaurant at least once. Will definitely come back soon!
