The Hook Catfish Restaurant

Catfish is one of my favorites in central Arkansas. We go out of our way to eat here. Breading is light but crispy. Hush puppies are the same way, and one of the best tasting coleslaws I think. Food selection was excellent also from chicken, shrimp, sandwiches, and other staples associated with catfish restaurants. The Restaurant was clean and well kept and yet felt like a proper hole in the wall restaurant. Very nice to see them honor veterans and the military itself. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting to try it.

The food is delicious. I recommend the Tour of The Pond. It includes 2 fried catfish filets, 4 fried shrimp, and 2 stuff crabs. Get the Pinto beans as one of your sides. The atmosphere is okay it is an open building with tables for 4 or long tables if you bring a crew. I'm sure you will enjoy.

If you love crispy fried REAL catfish, then this is your place to be! My baby shower was hosted here. Brandy and Tiuna were simply amazing! There were 50 of us and not one person had complaints!! This place has a superb reputation amongst central Arkansas residents! The only complaints I have received was afterwards in regards to why people weren’t invited to eat this food. Forget welcoming my baby girl. Why wasn’t I invited to eat “The Hook”. It’s satisfactory guaranteed!

This is the best place to eat in Jacksonville. Food is always hot, fresh and the fish is well cleaned and drained. Excellent and fast service with a family atmosphere. It deserves 10 STARS!!!

Been going here for years. Fish is awesome, hush puppies are the best I've had and love the tomato relish. Extra bonus is you don't have to wait long for your food.

Fish didn't have a pond taste, good crisp cornmeal coating. The coleslaw was like grandma used to make, fries were hot, nothing needed sauce but it was available. And portion size was right. No heavy greasy taste, excellent food. Enjoyed looking at the service members on the wall. I want to go back.

Awesome place for catfish!! And it was very busy on early Sunday afternoon!!

There were two rooms of seating.. a LOT of tables.. I, nor any customers after me, had to wait for a table.

The food was hot and fresh, and delicious.

Portions were good and waitresses were ON IT!! The owner or manager was walking around checking on customers.. love that!!

So far we have tried the fried catfish plate. Fried shrimp and the New Orleans shrimp. We like the fried catfish the best so far, but all are pretty good. The catfish is fried to perfection. Nothing greasy. Nothing overcooked. We love the pickled tomatoes appetizer. The atmosphere is VERY basic. The French fries are delicious. You can get a baked potato or pinto beans. We've had lunch here 3 times. It is our goto stop for fried catfish.

We love the hook. Hubby got the special shrimp and cheese grits. It was amazing. Love their catfish. Best around.

Service is excellent and fast. Food is steaming when it gets to your table, staff always keeps your glass full. Always with a smile and a great time.

FANTASTIC! Real farm-raised catfish and NOT swai!

If you are looming for a delicious catfish dinner with real catfish and great service, this is definitely the place to eat. My food was fresh, the restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. Oh and the prices were pretty reasonable consider inflation these days.

I would definitely go back again, especially since my family and I our full-time RVers now @TheCrossCountryAdventures (IG).

This is my family's favorite place to go out to eat. The Hook holds some very special memories for us. When eating out at The Hook in Jacksonville, check out the corner wall to the right honoring Veterans that were from this area! The food is always Amazing & the staff is very friendly! A must to check out if you have never been there! 💖

Great food at fair prices. Friendly staff. Very popular with the locals. Not only do they have great catfish, but also great chicken and hamburgers. Highly recommended.

U have been here many times over my lifetime from childhood. It is always good! The fish is delicious. My daughter always has some kind of shrimp and I love to get stuffed crabs. The green tomatoes are part of what brings me back often. In recent months, I have been attending meetings with a group in their meeting room to the left and it is perfect. They have screens that are utilized for announcements and presentations.

Super busy Saturday night, still had excellent food and service!
