I am giving this store five stars for effort, when in reality, I have been so very frustrated with this pharmacy. I have been a loyal Walgreens customer for at least 20 years, and have used Walgreens on the east coast, the west coast, and in between. I’ve never had any issues with any other Walgreens as I have at this store.

To begin with, I’ve experienced phone wait times for up to an hour. I just gave up on calling…I go directly to the pharmacy and wait to speak to the pharmacist. I take a lot of meds, and there are times I have to personally request the pharmacy to fill certain prescriptions, as Walgreens online won’t allow me to electronically file certain scripts. Luckily I’m not far from the pharmacy, and driving over is no big deal for me. If you need to talk to someone in the pharmacy, just save yourself the frustration of calling.

I used to be a Job Coach, so I didn’t just want to hate this pharmacy…I wanted to understand what the problem was (is). The problem is, they are always extremely busy, and maybe understaffed. There have been times I have visited the store when there were at least 15 cars in line for the pharmacy; the line being wrapped around the building. In addition there were also times where there were up to 10 people in line at the pharmacy. I’ve sat and watched the employees working, and they are all working like crazy. Nobody is on their phones, no one is standing around talking…they all seem to be working just as hard as they can. In addition, I’ve always been treated with the level of kindness and professionalism that made me a loyal Walgreens customer many years ago. When I’ve been there I’ve heard the phone ringing constantly. But In the pharmacy employees’ defense…they are so overwhelmed with customers in the store, no one has time to answer the phones.

Walgreens, if this pharmacy is understaffed, help them find some more employees! There are a ton of people who depend upon this pharmacy for their medications. Help this pharmacy to be better!

Sincerely, an extremely loyal Walgreens customer.

Waited for over 45 minutes at Publix across the street for a prescription to be told they did not have it and would not order it for me. Came swiftly to Walgreens right after to be in and out with the medicine I needed and no hassle in less than 10 minutes. You guys have my business from now on, thank you for caring about your customers!

I have always had a great experience at this location. The customer service is always great. The pharmacy management is very polite and went out of their way to help me with a mistake that I made. I would recommend Walgreens at the corner of Pierce and Summerville to anyone.

All the employees I have dealt with have been very friendly and polite. Every time I have used the drive through or went in store it has been a good experience and fast one also

This Walgreens is so much better then the one on Crawford rd. However, I have been trying to get my prescriptions for a couple days now but they have been super busy. I was finally able to get there at a time there was only one person in front of me. They literally looked for this lady's prescription for almost 30 min and I had to leave. They could have at least had her wait to the side and grabbed the line full of people an mine and had the one person look for the meds. Finally able to wait in line for however many hours I needed and now they have to redo a prescription because I waited to long to come and get it.

As of using the store part for shopping is excellent. But as for the pharmacy the pharmacists are excellent. But there is one cashier in the pharmacy who lies to customers about how soon they can fill certain prescriptions!! I think it is wrong that this cashier has the audacity to manipulate people's lives. But the higher ups keeps letting her get away with it or they just don't know or just don't care!!!!! So beware!!!!!

My husband and I have been frustrated with this Walgreens recently. We have been filling our regular prescriptions here for nearly 10 years and never had a problem until the past 6 months.
One example was the last time I tried to get a refill of my blood pressure medication. I requested the refill online. I had to go to the store 4 times to try to get this refill. The first time, the line was wrapped around the corner of the building and the wait time would have been around an hour based on previous times I've had to wait recently (another issue at this Walgreens). When I came back, the entire store was unexpectedly closed with only a brief sign on the window, and no alternative option was provided. On my third visit, I waited in the drive-thru for about 20 min only to be told that the systems were down, and I could neither pick up the prescription nor forward it to another location. They could not say when the computers would be back up. After all this, I received a reminder email that I had a prescription ready to refill. I discovered that they had restocked my blood pressure meds that I had been trying to pick up for the past 3 visits. I had to place another refill order and once it was ready, I decided to wait in the long line inside because the car line was again wrapped around the corner of the building. It took about 20 mins to pick up my order inside and during that time the drive-thru line had only processed 2 cars. Despite my repeated efforts to get my refill, this pharmacy delay resulted in me not being able to take my blood pressure meds for 3 days.
Another example - my husband made an appt to have the flu shot online. The website said that he should fill out the info online through his Walgreens account, which he did. Then the email confirmation that he got said he should download and print out the form, so he did that as well, entering the exact same info now twice. Upon checking in for his appt at the pharmacy, the technician informed him that neither of those forms was going to be used because they needed him to fill out paperwork in the store with a specific barcode on it, so he had to yet again fill out a lengthy form with info that should have already been in their system. Despite this inconvenience, we decided to make appts a few weeks later for our COVID-19 booster shots. We again filled out the info online because it seemed to be required, and it had specific questions about eligibility/previous COVID shot dates. When we checked in, we were again asked to fill out paperwork with the same questions. Online, the form reserved my husband for a third shot as opposed to a booster. At the store, however, the same form qualified him for the booster dose. The technician who administered our shots was very unpleasant. We tried to clarify about the difference between the additional dose vs the booster and why we got different results doing online vs in-store forms, and she was dismissive and almost appeared that she wasn't going to talk at all. Her mumbled response indicated that she was just going to follow what the pre-printed portion of the paper form said (a generic booster shot line on the form) and she made no attempt to verify our identity, intent, or background for this shot. At this point, because we had waited around 45 min after our "reserved" appt time despite no line, we decided to take the booster dose for both of us. We didn't feel it would be productive to try to carry on further conversation. She was also very rough handed when giving the shot and caused my husband's arm to bleed, which is unusual for him. She acted as though we were putting her out to even be there, much less to help us feel confident in the health care that we had just received.
Because of these experiences and how poor the service has become recently at this Walgreens, we will definitely not be making any further appts to receive vaccines from here, and we are seriously considering moving our prescriptions to another pharmacy.

It's very frustrating that no one can be reached on the phone to ask if a product is in stock at this location. Calls are screened by a robot, making it impossible to speak to someone in customer service.

The most unorganized pharmacy. Very slow Have 5 people working and all they are doing is walking back and fourth. Got to get better.

I am officially changing to a different pharmacy. They are always slow, pharmacist will randomly not be on duty. Been dealing with this for years an now today I waited in line for 45 minutes to get meds. As I pulled off I realized they forgot the one that I needed the most. Pulled around to get back in line. As I am waiting for another 15 minutes they put the sign in the window that pharmacy is not on duty. Everyone in line has to pull off without medications

Absolutely the slowest pharmacy on God's green earth. Staff is friendly enough. Just overworked.

I wished I could give them zero stars!
This is not the 1st time this has happened but this time it was an emergency!
My husband never complains but he has been in severe pain after taking 3 days worth of antibiotics so we call our doctor after hours and he immediately sends a prescription to the Walgreens pharmacy on Summerville road phenix city Ala. They then proceed to say we are out of the drug and won't have it till Monday
We then asked if they could check other pharmacies for availability and they said no!
I then said mam it is in your database who has it, then she immediately put me on hold and said you can call this pharmacy and see if they have it...
This is your job not the patient!
I will be calling Monday morning to report this store!

This pharmacy has gotten terrible. Takes HOURS sitting in line just to pick up a prescription. Getting someone on the phone is nearly impossible. When I finally did get someone on the phone she acted like it was an inconvenience to answer my questions like she hates her job that bad. Switching pharmacies as of now.
