Salem Five Bank

After buying a house with my husband, I worked very closely with Ori to set up a new account with Salem Five now that our mortgage was with them. Ori was very personable, professional and skilled in his position. He was also very attentive/timely in answering my questions and making sure the process of opening my account went smoothly! Someone attempted to transfer $1,200 from my account to a Western Union account in Atlanta, GA, however fraud prevention caught it. Thank you Brian Reynolds from fraud prevention for spending the time on the phone to verify everything and stop this thief from stealing from my account.

UPDATED: Branch manager and complaint manager followed up several times, complaint manager was especially kind and helpful. Most importantly I eventually got my marriage license back.

Terrible experience at this branch. This branch lost my marriage license, insisted that they returned it to me and then found it after I left the property. They never gave me the option to come in to get it, said they mailed it but I still don't have it a week later. Their solution was apologizing and saying it was an "unfortunate situation".

Opened a bank account with them after moving to Salem due to our old bank not having a physical location nearby as we needed to deposit Canadian checks from a major Canadian bank which required a branch to do so. Salem Five was unable to process the check and still charged a processing fee of $15 which because they never gave us our routing number and we were waiting to move money into the account till the check was processed made the account balance dip below $0 and then threatened to charge additional fees for a delinquent account and threaten our credit score because they charged us fees for not being able to do something they said they could. They also refused to wave the processing fee in order to retain a customer so clearly they're not interested in our business.

We checked the bank the check is from and there should have been no issues on their end.

We've been wasting half a day handling their incapability to do what they said they could do.

Opening an account with Salem Five was a mistake that I won't be making again in the future.

My experience with this bank was an absolute nightmare. I spent hours on the phone trying to retrieve my money. They make a bunch of "mistakes" then hold your money hostage. Customer service did nothing but fight me tooth and nail while I fixed their wrongdoing. Be for warned you'll be spending hours on the phone with this bank. Never ever ever will I do business with them again.
