SaltYard Restaurant and Bar

I was honestly heading to another restaurant when I stopped to view the menu. Two ladies walked out the door past me and were praising the friendly service. A couple of menu items caught my eye and I decided to give SaltYard a try. I am extremely happy I did. As usual, I sat at the end of the bar and was greeted by a pleasant young bartender named Dodo who seemed generally pleased to be there. He made an excellent drink and was very attentive to the entire bar. His smile, happy attitude, and respectful service was infectious. I went with the Ceasar salad to start. It was good. What was better was when half way through the bartender asked to let me know when I was ready for my main course. Too many restaurants lately want to turn seats or be done near the end of the night. Here, I was able to take my time and take a pause before my main. I could have just as easily asked him for it quickly, but he graciously allowed me to choose my speed. I went with the seafood risotto which was excellent!! He suggested the house made Sticky Toffee for dessert which paired great with a Port. Again, excellent!! I will definitely visit again next time I am in town.

Food was very very good. The burrata appetizer is a can't miss and the 3 entrees my group ordered were all great. The risotto was my favorite and had plenty of little scallops and shrimp to give it a true seafood flavor. The Bolognese and mushroom ravioli were also great dishes as I'm sure the rest of the menu is. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, I just wish our waters were filled a little more, or we had bigger glasses. My only knock is that it is very dark inside and seemed to get darker as the night went on

I ordered sea bass that was great but it could have been served with something more interesting than just a pile of ordinary salad.
Mushroom bruschetta and lamb tacos were delicious.

Great experience! My boyfriend and I came here while we where visiting his mom. It was a random hour, like 4pm and the service was amazing, food was so good. We got soup and gnocchi and shared the they even split it for us. We loved it!

Cute spot with great food. Bar is nice and has a decent amount of seating. They have some wine flights you can get here. I had the Bolognese which was out of this world delicious and had a small bite of the skirt steak which was also super yummy. Definitely will be returning.

I've been coming here for several years, and I'm glad this place has been consistent throughout the years.
The food was delicious. Best sea bass I have ever had, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Water boys were great and attentive! The owner is hardworking and friendly, as is everyone here.

I first tried this place during the pandemic when I got takeout, and I thought it was very good. Recently came here with two friends and ate on site, and it was absolutely amazing. We got the fish, a salad, mushroom toast, and ravioli. Oh, and truffle fries! Everything was delicious, service was friendly and prompt, and we had a great time. Prices are about what you would expect for this area. Definitely make a reservation, they get crowded all the time.

Fun, fresh, and great service. The ambience of this restaurant definitely matches the esthetic of downtown Burlingame. We easily made an online reservation the night before for 12:15pm on a Saturday. We were quickly seated and had the choice of sitting inside or outside. There is construction going on next door so we elected to sit inside. The service was absolutely superb. We had a waiter consistently stop by to refill drink orders. The lunch menu was simple and not overwhelming; the choices were definitely hard to choose from as everything sounded delicious. We didn’t wait long at all for the food and it was beautifully presented with special attention to detail. The bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was absolutely divine! Highly suggest starting with the Caesar Salad as well. Overall, great restaurant, with very friendly waiters, and delicious food.

The gnocchi, seafood risotto and seafood linguine were delicious and received praise from our crew. A few ordered burgers and they said they weren't a traditional tasting patty... but who orders a burger at an Italian restaurant with so many other great options.

Great food with generous portions.
The beet salad with chicken is incredible. A ton of chicken given for $6, was pleasantly surprised.
You can dine inside or outside. Wine walls provide an elegant look. I would perhaps recommend remodeling the restrooms to give it an upscale look.
Prices are good, expected it to be more expensive on certain items.
The man that took care of our dishes and water was SUPER attentive. The woman that hosts with the phone in her back pocket seemed disinterested in working and the patrons.

What an amazing place! I had some great cocktails among them: old-fashion, dirty martini and a whiskey sour made the right way!

Beautiful place with great food. Service was outstanding. Our server Herbert accommodated us well. Definitely going back.

after an absence we came for dinner and it was a fun experience. we sat out side on a sunny day for dinner, the blood orange drop cocktail was nice, a little too sweet but I added ice and some water and it was better, I would rather have a taller drink with some soda. i had the seafood linguini, excellent , wife had the Salmon, also delicious all well prepared. We will be back, thanks

Everything was good here! They accommodated our big group (10 people) last minute and we’re so nice. Nice wine flights. The house margarita was delicious. The calamari was very good. Don’t pass on the chicken parm!!

This place is a must if you're in the area. Everything we ordered was prepared rather quickly. The flavors were spot on!

Amazing experience from start till end. The wife and I decided to sit outside and it was perfect. The waitress was very attentive and polite. She was able to give us recommendations based on preferences. Drinks were a hit! Dinner was immaculate! And dessert was quite literally the cherry on top of such an amazing night out. Can't wait to come back again!

Been a resident of Burlingame but never really noticed SaltYard. Tried for the first time and wow had a great meal. The food was delicious. The drinks were well made. Service was very good. And prices were very reasonable. Had such a great meal that we'll be back.

I always like restaurants that have a limited menu. They know what they are good at and stick to it. The cocktails are pretty good too.

After successfully finding parking in chaotic downtown Burlingame, we arrived at Saltyard. No problem getting a table at 12:30 Saturday afternoon. Spacious dining area decorated with a lot of wine bottles! Full bar and outdoor seating as well.
Very courteous staff got us started with ice water, coffee and bread and butter. We ordered the Seafood Linguine and the Salmon and eggs lunch special. Both were incredible!
My check in with Yelp landed us a complimentary cheesecake which we substituted for the Tiramisu. The tasty dessert accompanied by one more cup of freshly brewed coffee was a perfect ending to a great lunch.

Very cool atmosphere. Reminds me of an old dark wooden library inside of a mansion. Had the cioppino. It was awesome!! Will definitely go back when I’m back in town.
