Great place to buy plants and produce. It's way cheaper than the WNC farmers market. I will definitely come back more often

First Step Foods sells fresh produce from their own farm and from other farms. They are following Covid19 guidelines for the shoppers safety and theirs. Friendly, helpful staff!

Good selection of well grown plants for vegetable gardens and flower beds. They also have planters and hanging baskets. Locally grown less than 5 miles from the store. Good prices and supports a good cause.

This is a great place to get your yearly flowers. At the beginning of Spring, First Step's green house is completely full of annuals, perineals, herbs and vegetables! They have gorgeous hanging baskets! Unfortunately, by this time of year, most of them have already been bought. I was still able to get 4 different colors of petunias to put in my hanging baskets.
That's not all First Step Farm has to offer. They have fabulous mountain grown vegetables! You don't need to go to the farmers market. First Step has you covered! They've got beautiful tomatoes. They have a cooler for things like lettuce and blueberries. Of course, everything is seasonal and fresh!
When the Holiday season comes around, First Step Farm sells wreaths and Christmas trees.
I almost forgot to mention that all of the money raised by First Step Farm goes towards helping men and women recover from addiction! It's these men and women who grow all of the flowers and produce. It's a wonderful program!
They do have a handicap entrance in the back. It's not visible from the front.
I highly recommend you stop by and check it out for yourself!

My first choice for produce and plants, much of the inventory is grown at the men's and women's recovery facilities. The store is also staffed by participants. Everybody is very friendly, extremely helpful. Wide range of seasonal produce, mostly local, including hard-to-find items like spring ramps. Shop here and know that you are supporting a program that changes lives.

A great place for starter plants. They have a great selection and also have some beautifully arranged large potted plants and vegetable starters. I was surprised to see the produce stand inside the building! Nice folks to work with.

Suprised that sugar baby watermelon was fermented. I understand things can happen. First time thinking watermelon was going to explode. Hope further produce will be as good as usual produce bought on other trips. Returned again. Produce was excellent. Replaced watermelon without being asked. Good business practices and will continue to give them my business.

First Step Farm is always my first choice when looking for my yearly splash of color for my landscaping. Great choices, healthy plants and for me, it's just as much about supporting a great cause! It's my way of making sure I contribute to keep them helping people in recovery!

Great place to buy Christmas trees and get free hot apple cider and candy canes.

Fantastic place to get a wide variety of beautiful flowers and veggies! Great prices and a wonderful local business to support instead of the big box stores. We will be back!

Went up there with my buddy to pickup tomatoes. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I really liked dealing with them.

Not only does this place have a great mission of helping people get back on their feet after drug addiction, but they really know their stuff! Very knowledgeable and very friendly! Got sl our seedlings from them and they grew well!!
