El Potro Mexican Restaurant

Quiet little place but the buffet was great. The prices were good and the micheladas were nice, not too overpowering with flavor so it was refreshing. Definitely would come back.

Ok so... this place.... legendary. 10/10 will eat here forever. The cheese dip, downright spectacular. The taquitos. Perfection. The taco salad, superb the tamales and tacos were to die for. I just found my new favorite restaraunt.

12/9/20 update: again, on my way home... I did stop on my way down in early November as well.
Tamales are so good! Love them Naked (sauce on the side)... It was nice to see V again, she is the nicest & she remembers me ❤ I feel like a local.

8/12/20 update: stopped in on my way North. Had the tamales, so good. Still clean and nice inside. Hostess V. Was wearing an official El Potro mask, I want one too 😉 upgraded to 5 stars for consistency over 4 visits.

A good spot just off i-95. Had the lunch buffet, it was good. I'll stop again and try the traditional Mexican dishes. Friendly staff too.

It's hard not to love Mexican food but to add a buffet puts me over the top. This is an excellent lunch choice.

The best tacos al pastor around! The service is always outstanding and the menu priced very reasonably. Best margaritas ever. Our favorite Mexican restaurant hands down.

Staff was nice, food was great. Being from Texas I wanted good texmex. This place was exactly what I was looking for. It is not a fancy place but was clean!!!! Intend on going back to try the Buffett

This restaurant has a buffet. Something you don't often see at a mexican restaurant. Great food and friendly people. I will stop again if I get the chance.

The food was great! Been trying to catch the dinner buffet and finally scored the opportunity. The only thing food wise that I could suggest a change to, would be to have some soft corn/ flour tortillas in a warmer nearby. The decor could use a refresher... very dated and plain and dark. But overall enjoyed our visit. Thank you!!!

I came here with my parents and we enjoyed the buffet. The meats are well cooked and the staff are so sweet. Most of the food tasted really good. I recommend their horchata. It is so yummy and sweet. Does not have that sandy texture, so it is smooth and refreshing to drink!

The place I love!
I went to many Mexican restaurants once in Pooler and Savannah and visited the other twice because the staff was pretty. But I've only visited this place about five times.
Both the menu and the buffet are very delicious. Among them, Orchada is my favorite drink in this place. I want to come here often before I go back to Korea

My husband and I love the Sunday buffet. If you don't find anything to your liking, then you really aren't hungry. Sounds boring, but I love their rice and taco salads. Covered and smothered with all the things I love.

Absolutely Top tier service! The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and just seemed to really be focused on the dining experience of the patrons as well as the cleanliness of everything during our dining experience. All four of my group enjoyed the buffet and did not regret it a bit! It Was Fantastic!! All the meats, cheeses, quesadillas, tacos, tortillas, chips, salsas, nachos guacamole, and everything you would want to add to your Mexican culinary creations was fresh, plentiful, and delicious! Our beverages never ran anywhere near empty. I would 100% recommend El Potro to anyone looking for great Mexican cuisine. 👍🏻👍🏻

Favorite Mexican place in Pooler.
My wife and I love coming here. She gets the King quesadilla and I usually do the buffet.
Great quality food and friendly staff.

It was not too bad for being a buffet. The food was fresh and the employees were very attentive of keeping it stocked. The spicy section was enough to catch me by surprise.

This is one of those restaurants that you might just drive past if you didn't know it or if no one mentioned it to you. I'm mentioning it. The food was great. Nothing else needs to be said. If you're close, go and eat.

Perkins restaurant is absolutely awesome., If I give it 5 stars all the way across-the-board., the staff is courteous,, ,,friendly,, polite, and helpful., I would recommend this restaurant to everybody I know,.. And will continue to patronize this wonderful restaurant., The food is to die for,, And love the atmosphere.
