Reasonable prices and good amount of food! I really enjoyed the crispy chicken khao soi! The khao soi was not very spicy, mild but the tables are provided with condiments where you can add spices to taste. Thai iced tea and thai iced lime tea both yummy. Friendly service and super quick to get your orders! The dishes came out super quick! Pretty small restaurant but cute interior, and there was no wait around 2pm on a Saturday.

One of the best street Thai restaurants around Boston!
We have a lot of quality Thai places in Boston, but Dakzen stands out by focusing on street-style dishes, having more than your typical pad thai and drunken noodle options, and a smaller, but focused menu.

Dine in: The food was amazing when I picked up and dined in, but having the food piping hot from the kitchen is just unbeatable. Everything we ordered and ate left a big smile on my face. Each bite was like a perfect hug and you just had to pause for a moment and d take in all the warmth and flavors. The staff were very sweet and the chill ambiance allowed you to enjoy the meal unhindered.

Takeout Experience: Despite my unintentional sabotage, the food was still phenomenal even 1 hour after the pickup time. I wish I could’ve eaten this piping hot, but traffic and bad timing meant it sat in a bag for an hour. Despite that the food was still amazing. The Khao-gra-pow was an amazing rice dish and the veggie chive cakes were perfect with the sauce. Can’t wait to sit down and have these piping hot!

Great Thai street food in a small cute place by Davis.

Fried gyoza was crispy and hot. Good to start while waiting for main dish.
Khao soi curry noodles are so flavorful. Coconut and rich broth with crispy noodles and protein of your choice. My go to.
The khao grapow is good choice if you want rice. It’s savory and spicy with fried egg wow amazing.

Service was good. Friendly and quick. Water always refilled.

Limited space inside it’s small but cute. Also parking might be rough but it’s worth it. They have good drink options to juice and coffee.

Great authentic Thai food. If you like spicy food then this is a great place. They have some nonspicy dishes too. Place is a bit small so prepare to wait for a table bit well worth it. Khao Soi is a must try.

Dakzen is a very special place. Highly recommend the Khao Soi. One of the best dishes i’ve ever eaten. Creamy. Spicy. Delcious. They have many other tasty dishes here too but the Khao Soi is my absolute favorite. The dining room is small so be prepared to wait a little bit. I usually eat here for lunch on a rainy day. That’s the best time to go. The wait is usually short. Lunch/Dinner rush on a nice day be prepared to wait longer. Food comes out quickly. You can be added to a wait list when you get there so you can walk around without losing your spot. Highly recommend. 10/10

The Tom yum noodle soup was very addicting and I loved all the toppings in it every bite was new and interesting. The prawns were also perfectly cooked nice and tender and the tail was fried and crunchy and the sauce was sweet and nice. The staff here was also very nice and helpful and I felt well taken cared of

Affordable Thai street food place with great food and quick service.

My friends and I came here on a weekday for dinner. It was pouring outside, but we still had to wait in line to get seated. They seemed to be quite popular among the college students in the area, and it was understandable given that most things on the menu were below 10.

We got the moo yaw tod and a couple of the entrées, and all of them were good. Moo yaw tod had a chewy texture and went nicely with the chili dipping sauce. From the entrées, my favorites were the beef boat noodles and the khao moo dang. Wontons and crisps added interesting texture and flavors to the noodles, and the topping sauce on khao moo dang was very flavorful.

Great experience overall, and I would definitely come back when I get jaded with Thai food options at other takeout restaurants.

Small restaurant BIG flavor. Nothing fancy but expect top notch Thai food and very quick/caring service. The inside is cute and has a few tables to eat in. They do TONS of takeout orders around lunch/dinner times. Easily one of the best Thai places around the Somerville area. Won Best of Boston Thai 2019!

This is a regular dinner spot for me. Fantastic quick lunch or dinner place. Their noodle dishes, soups, and apps are flavorful, full of great proteins (tofu or meat) and veggies.

Dakzen is a small restaurant with a single location in Somerville, Massachusetts serving Thai street noodle bowls, desserts, drinks and more! The Atmosphere is small but cute and they have outdoor seating as well. Service is fast casual and friendly. The food was fantastic and presented nicely. Prices are reasonable and fair for the portions and quality and overall I'd say this is great place to try out some tasty Thai food without breaking the bank. Would definitely recommend and would love to see them expand.

My wife and I got two different noodle bowls and shared the Fried Gyoza. My bowl was the Tom Yum Noodles Soup which is a traditional Thai noodle soup that's pretty spicy! It comes with ground pork, BBQ sliced pork, fish ball, fish cakes, mini dried shrimp, nuts, bean sprouts, half of a boiled egg and topped with chopped cilantro and crispy fried wonton pieces. You can also choose what type of noodle you want with your bowl. I was recommended rice noodles so that's what I got. The rice noodles I got were thin and cooked perfectly and weren't the thick flat pad Thai rice noodles that I thought I was going to get. The broth was just the right amount of spice with great flavor. It's a clear broth and was a bit sweet but also had a fishy flavor from the fish sauce they use in it but overall savory. There was plenty of meat in the bowl and the right amount of broth. I finished the whole thing!

My wife's bowl was the Khao Soi which was a Northern Thai Curry Noodle Soup with flat egg noodles, diced red onion, pickled mustard, boiled egg, lime wedge and topped with chopped cilantro and a fried egg noodle ball. Her bowl was also delicious. More broth than my bowl and slightly spicy but not as spicy as mine. The broth is rich with coconut milk and curry and the topping complemented it well. I really enjoyed the egg noodles with it as I haven't had many noodle bowls with flat, thin egg noodles before. The crispy noodle ball gave a nice balance in textures and the lemon wedge added acidity that was definitely welcome.

Our Fried Pork Dumplings, or Gyoza, came with our bowls at the same time and was served with a slightly thick, spicy soy dipping sauce. They were fried to perfection and had plenty of filling and I absolutely loved the savory dipping sauce that it came with. It's a bit spicy so if you're not a person who can handle spicy this probably isn't for you.

Overall the experience was fun and tasty I just have one gripe about it. When our food was served, my wife got her bowl and it took almost 5 minutes before I got my bowl and the gyoza. They should have brought everything out together instead of my wife's food sitting in front of her waiting patiently for me to get mine so we can eat. Usually when you order a "street snack" or an appetizer like gyoza it come out before the main meal but they don't do that here so if you want it before your main meal you're going to have to ask.

GET THE KHAO SOI!!! No need to order ANYTHING else!!! Would recommend the crispy pork as a topping!!!

We got the Rook Chin Tod and Gui Chai Tod snacks! DEF GET THE Gui Chai Tod, they reminded me of scallion fried pancakes, with the chewy texture of mochi!

Also got the Boat Noodle Soup (pictured last) which tasted similar to Pho, but I wasn’t a fan, and wouldn’t order again!!!

P.S. PRICES ARE GREAT!!! 8.95 for the Khao Soi!!!! Such great FLAVOR AND VALUE!!

NEVER in my 42 years on this planet have I EVER had food so flavorful and truly delicious!! This was our first time there and it certainly won't be the last. Staff was friendly - atmosphere was authentic - parking was available - dining area and bathroom were clean. I could not of asked for a better dining experience. This was our first time there but it won't be the last. I got beef boat noodles and fried gyoza. TO-DIE-FOR!!!! I was all excited to try all the flavoring sauces on the table but I couldn't because the food didn't need ANY added flavor!!!! 11 out of 5 stars!!! ⭐🌟⭐🌟⭐💫🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟

It's hard to replicate the experience of Thai street food sitting in Cambridge but I'm not sure they could do it better. Really friendly staff is what I expect from Thai people and they do not disappoint. I've only tried the Khao Soi (so far) and it's visually appealing and is an awesome balance of textures and classic sweet, sour, spicy and sweet flavors. I'll definitely be back.
Update: I've now been back many times and each experience is as good as the last. This place is (now) crazy busy at lunchtime which isn't too surprising, but now they take your order at the table which helps. The Tom Yum Noodle Soup is so much better than and unlike the version you'll find in most local Thai restaurants. Today I tried the Ba Mee Moo Dang, a dry noodle soup with crispy and BBQ pork and my problem is that there are now too many great dishes to choose from, though that adds variety.

Value for money and taste buds. The steamed dumplings are delicious. Great options for vegetarians as well. Authentic and budget friendly Thai option for Cambridge area.

Still awesome since the last time I went here. Despite high inflation, they still manage to keep the price very affordable without compromising on the food quality or quantity. The dining area is kinda small so it is better for takeout (plus you get a small discount for online orders as well).

The food is amazing and flavorful. One appetizer to share and one entree are the perfect combination. I highly recommend the Boat Noodle Soup. The Tiew Kai Toon has a nice broth, but the chicken is a bit dry for me, but still very flavorful. I will definitely come back here to try out more dishes.

I loved the Khao-Soi with Tofu

It was so filling and hearty. It felt like a warm hug. I would highly recommend this place if you are craving some nice noodles with amazing flavors.

I also had the Thai Iced Tea which was okay. Nothing special.

Fantastic price. Note to self - 2 spicy symbols is really hot hahaha. Really good food, great service. Fried pork belly was quite dry, would be best with sauce or in a dish, not as add on.
