One of the best Mexican restaurants in Cedar! Delicious flavorful food and their homemade salsa bar is not to be skipped out on!

Great Mexican restaurant. Loved everything about this place from the quick friendly service to the generous portions and amazing tasting food. They have a self serve salsa bar with lots of options. The place was very clean.
We had tamales, carnitas, carne asada, quesadillas, and tacos and everyone loved absolutely everything. Even my pickiest eaters were happy with their food.

Stopped on the way through Cedar City after a long weekend camping. Wanted a quick breakfast burrito for the road. Saw the Google reviews and decided to stop in. Huge burritos with homemade tortillas. Watch out for the red sauce on the salsa bar! It packs a punch! Bathrooms were super clean too.

This is my go-to place for delicious Mexican food! I usually get a adobda burrito and crispy chicken tacos or carne asada fries. My wife gets the carne asada soft tacos. All the food is really good and the service is usually quick and the people are friendly.

Great value. Breakfast burrito is a lot of food for under $5!
Update: 2 years after my first review I really wanted to come back and give them 5 more stars. Food is SO good and a great value. Chimichanga and ham & egg burrito are my favorites. GO THERE!!

Just driving through Cedar City and wanted something different than the regular fast foods. TACOS EL JEFFE did NOT disappoint!! So yummy. Definitely going back. Authentic and tasty! The Salsa bar with Pickled veggies was great.

I was so hungry when we got to Tacos El Jefe, I ordered Carne Asada Fries to share and the Carnitas Plate! We also ordered several Carnitas Burritos. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The salsa options are also great. I loved the carrots, onions, jalapeños, and radishes too! The service was friendly and fast and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We will definitely go back. Thanks!

Two words: salsa bar! This place has a rockin' salsa bar with pico de gallo and fresh cut lemons! Plus the chimichangas are absolutely scrumptious. My kids liked the burritos, enchiladas and carne asada también! This place is affordable, clean, friendly and totally worth checking out, buen provecho!

Good authentic food . Great value

I got the al pastor burrito and it was really awesome. The salsas are made in house and they’re great as well. Great food. Great service. Great for authentic Mexican food.

Really great food. The food is actually a little spicy - which is what you want when eating Mexican food. Large portions and a great salsa bar. My favorites are the chili relleno and their chimichangas 🤤

Great taco shop, always find time to stop by here on my way to or from St George. It’s definitely worth it. Solid flavors and good salsa bar. I Went with the carne asada fry burrito and it was delicious. Usually we stop by for breakfast burritos in the AM and they are top notch. Service was quick and food was fresh. Give it a try if your in the area.

Open pretty late for everyone who either works late or just want a late dinner! Asada Fries burrito was great! A lot of burrito too!my wife enjoyed the tamales!! Totally recommend!!

Love coming here! I always have a pleasant visit, warmly greeted and delicious food! I like to order the shrimp burrito, it’s always delightful! The staff is also very friendly, I suggest trying it!

Tacos El Jefe is one of my go to places in Cedar City! I’ve always had a great experience here. Classic Mexican food that hits the spot every time. Reminds me of California.

Delicious, authentic food for a great price! The tacos here are seriously excellent! I had the Al Pastor and the Asada and both were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salsa bar is great also! I got the horchata to drink and it was also very good! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back!

The food is very fresh and seasoned well there hot sauce was hot enough for me. The dinning room was clean and organized. Staff members who served us were very polite and helpful. The place was no too crowded. And the service was fast. Prices are in line with comparable Latin style restaurants in town.

I’ve eaten here for lunch about 50 times now. My favorite dish is the #13 beef or chicken chimichanga. Sometimes I’ll upgrade to carne asada which is also excellent.

Their food is always consistent, delicious and reasonably priced. Depending on what you order, you’ll get very large portions.

There’s no drive through and it is not a full service restaurant. You’ll need to order and pick up your food when it is ready but hey, no necessary tip either.

As those who’ve eaten authentically cooked Mexican in Mexico at many places this is legit, folks! Full of flavor, generous meat potions (they even didnt skimp on the chicken in the nachos!) and we even checked to make sure their chicken isn’t seasoned with gluten (as some places use wheat to thicken their sauces) and it passed! The nachos are 👌🏼 amazingly full of flavor as was the three carne asada plates my family ordered. We were about to go to Costa Vids but they’re closed on Sundays and boy are we glad they weren’t open otherwise we’d have missed this food!
Run don’t walk to The Boss Tacos!

Tacos El Jefe has become one of my go-to places to eat in Cedar City! Their food is great, especially their chimichangas. It is also a great price and open late.

The staff is also very friendly and they get the food out quickly!
