This place has amazing food! I found it when I was googling restaurants in Trenton. I'm a new resident and I'm checking out good places to eat. The reviews were good and I am happy to add another 5 star review to their page. The fish was seasoned perfectly. Not too salty but big on flavor. The mac and cheese was very good. It reminds me of soul food in the South. The cabbage was also good. Overall the food was seasoned well. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant and I didn't have to wait too long for my food. I will definitely eat from there again. I can't wait to try the Caribbean food.

ard to maker it home without wanting to take a bite. The restaurant was super clean both inside and out. I think it is a husband and wife that own and run it along with their daughter. What I typically find is that soul food places up north usually make good meats and proteins, but their sides are mediocre. Trust me when I tell you. Not this place. Jean's kitchen nailed everything. I ordered the fried bass platter candied yams and cabbage for my sides. The fish was a nice golden brown and fried to perfection. I hate to say it but the yams rival my Mama's, which that is not easy to do and the cabbage may be the best I tasted in forever. I also got a order of wings which were fried nicely as well, a little too salty for me, but I'm not really a fan of salt. It came with a piece of cornbread all I'll say about that is......THAT CORNBREAD UMMMM UMMM UMMM. The prices and portions are good. This will be my go to spot when I want to treat myself. Jean's kitchen staff, you all are doing an awesome job keep it up.

Wow!!! I got the fried fish platter and it was amazing. The fish was super yummy and the Mac and cheese was great. The cornbread was the best I’ve ever had, still warm and obviously homemade.

My favorite is the curry chicken, white rice and I absolutely Loooove their cabbage! Could eat it daily! But wait! Grab 3 or more slices of that cornbread!!! Ya won’t be disappointed!!! Try it today suga bumps! You’ll be hooked!

Food is fantastic and priced fair. Portions are large and filling, service is personable, kind, and informative. There isn’t seating on site so plan ahead but there are plenty of spots nearby to sit down and enjoy the food.

The food was really great it can’t be said enough, the cornbread was genuinely the best I’ve ever had, the kind that melts in your mouth and leaves you feeling good. The fried fish was perfect with a little splash of hot sauce.

Wonderful hidden gem right near museums and galleries

There aren't many soul food spots left in the central northeast. And those businesses who advertise that moniker don't really live up to it. I had the fried fish platter with mac & cheese and cabbage...It was soulfully beautiful. I commend Jean's Kitchen as an all around 5⭐ establishment!! Continued Blessings

We found this place through a youtube video and we were not disappointed the lady at the counter was super sweet. The mac and cheese was really good. The oxtails omg!! So tender the corn bread was the best I've gotten from any restaurant. They even gave me corn bread for my son's to try and they were not disappointed we will definitely be back again. Worth the 45min drive!

I've tried the jerk chicken and the fried fish, along with mac&cheese, yams, cabbage and greens. Everything thing is well seasoned and well prepared. The service was excellent and the host was friendly and welcoming. Jean's Kitchen is an excellent place for soul food in Trenton! I look forward to trying the shrimp and the curry chicken.

With not many options for lunch in the downtown trenton area, jeans kitchen is a welcomed addition to the food scene. This is my third visit, each dish has been awesome. The food is GREAT and is served quickly. I strongly suggest you get it a try. The cornbread is to die for. I promise . Warning. They are closed on mon and tues.

My husband and i ordered from this establishment last weekend thru doordash. We was very pleased. The food came hot and it was very fresh. This is hands down one of the best soulfood in the trenton/ewing area. It reminds me of north carolina. I had the fish platter with mac and cheese and yams. The fish was so good, I was able to eat it without hot sauce. Only minor complaint I have is, I wish I had one more piece. LOL. It was that good. My husband had the turkey wing platter and same sides as me and extra side of cabbage. He also thought everything was very good, just wished the portions was a little bigger for price. He gets same thing at a restaurant in south jersey for same price with bigger turkey wings. Prices are going to vary depending on where you are located. Also, the cornbread could be a little bigger. It was a tease. Lol. Very moist and delicious. But, they still get 5 stars from us. We enjoyed everything. Some places, the meats may be good but the sides are horrible or vice versa. I hope they keep up the good work. It seems like the chef/cook, cooks with passion. You can see it in the presentation and the taste. I wish them many blessings. This is one of our top soulfood restaurant we will be ordering from now on. Actually, we are ordering again from this restaurant, today.

Stopped by Jean’s for lunch during a visit to downtown Trenton. I had the fried fish with mac and cheese and rice and beans. Fish was moist and and delicious. Mac and cheese was amazing and the portions were plentiful. They only do takeout as there are no tables to eat there. Will definitely going back next time I am in Trenton.

Everyone needs to stop by this spot, she has the best food in the area, I stopped in after my hair appointment still have a pink bonnet on when I went in. It felt like walking in grandmas house. Warm and inviting and the food super amazing. Extra plus for the location, this my new favorite spot for good food thank you.

The atmosphere was very chill like there was no wait time…I would definitely come back for their Mac & cheese…very cheesy just how I like it

If you love soul food, this place will not disappoint. My main meal (brown stewed chicken), the rice and beans, the sides… everything was perfect. Service was fast. And even when you order the “small” version of the meal, you still get a lot of food. I will 100% be going back.

Trust the reviews! Everything was delightfully delicious. I ordered the akee and salt fish, mac and cheese, jerk chicken and collard greens. Everything tasted better than the next. Warning it is comfort food so I would not recommend eating at lunch. Next time I am definitely ordering for dinner.

The food was delicious, and they are not stingy with the portions,..I had so much I had enough for the next day,..Go support you will not be disappointed.

Food at Jean’s Kitchen is very good, portions are wonderful you can eat some and have some leftover. By far, the bbq chicken has been my favorite. Banana pudding is amazing as well try it, if you haven’t already.

Me and a couple of college friends went to the place over the weekend and we all loved the food. The shrimp the fish and the oxtail were amazing

Food was delicious I got jerk chicken rice and beans and cabbage also fried chicken Mac yams and string beans and a side of banana pudding everything was good just the yams had to much nutmeg but when you eat it with the Mac you don’t notice. I will go back to try something different.

Jean’s kitchen is finger licking good!! Can’t wait to go back for breakfast!! Clean restaurant, friendly staff, delicious food! Its a winner!
