The overall ambiance of the establishment was quite enjoyable, with friendly and attentive staff. However, I must provide an honest assessment of the culinary experience. While the ribs were indeed delectable and highly recommended, the accompanying rice and macaroni lacked sufficient seasoning to my palate. It is important to note that this is a subjective opinion and may vary for different individuals. Despite this minor critique, I would still consider revisiting the establishment due to the positive overall experience.

I am visiting Trenton from up central Jersey. Decided to stop at this place and order the fish and grits which came with eggs and toast. I think that’s the best fish and grits platter I’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly seasoned. And the portion size was huge for a very adorable price. The cook/owner was very pleasant as well. I’m traveling to Trenton for 7 days and will definitely be stopping here again before my time ends here! I’m more than happy to support this man’s small business and will visit again if I’m ever in the area in the future.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant . The food is really good, I ordered the fried whiting with fries. They definitely are not stingy with the food, I couldn't finish it all. The fries were so good, I don't know what they do differently compared to other places but the fries were hitting. The restaurant is nice and clean and they have some entertainment from the television while you wait for your food. The place was not crowded when I went for my order just in case I called in. So I would definitely recommend this place. You have to try their fish It was so good.

10/10 definitely recommend!! We had the 2 bbq chicken and 3 rib combo with rice. I got Mac & cheese, collard greens and yams on the side too. Exquisite!! Great price, quick thorough service, not a long wait time, plenty of options for drinks and chips as well. Definitely will return! Food was so good I didn’t even get a picture but I’ll add next time I come.

First time trying this place and the food was so good. I got the pork chops, greens and mashed potatoes with gravy. I will definitely be back when I’m in the mood for soul food. Nice people also and location was easy to find.

First time getting take out from here, tbh the neighborhood did alarm me a bit but the food is awesome! Definitely returning.

I found way way here based on enthusiastic reviews, and I have to say that they didn't steer me wrong in the least. I ordered Oxtail with yams and cornbread, and it was all out of this world, especially the oxtail and rice!

As I sit here in food bliss, I've still got a mess of rice and half the yams left, and even though I'm completely full, I can't stop eating. It's THAT good. I'll absolutely be back to try more! Great food, great people 5/5!

If I could give them 10 stars I would…. That food was so DAMN GOOD!!!!!! Some of the best food I have had this YEAR!!!!! I had the fried pork chops with the Mac and cheese and yams!!!!!!! 10s across the BOARD!!!! Definitely going back there before I leave the area.

Excellent soul food! I got the Ox Tails and they were the best I've ever had anywhere. Good corn bread too!

Just tried Pitt’s for the first time I have to say I’m highly impressed. The owner opened the door for me and I felt like I was at home. The food is fresh and made to order. Everything is so flavorful. I got fried chicken wings, collard greens, Mac and cheese, and candied yams. The price is very fair and the customer service is superb. Will recommend to friends and family.

Best damn soul food up north!!! It appears to be family owned with a good history in the community. Very clean little spot. Had chairs to sit and wait on your food. Food was fried in fresh oil (you could tell) and it was damn good! This was our first time and I promise we will make it back over the bridge very soon. If you're ever in the need for real Southern style food go here. Plus they close at 8pm. It looked shabby but it was a warm and inviting feeling.

Beside the well designed menu options, there is a free salad bar with options of refill.
Even sourdough bread is available here.
The service is great! The staff was helpful and super nice.
It isn't a cheap place, but you it certainly worth the value.

Classic down home food in store NOTHING'S BETTER GLAD I LIVE A BLOCK AWAY

I am an EMT, and I came over to Pitt's BBQ with my partner when we were posted at Capital Fuld. Pitt's is right around the corner from the hospital. We both had oxtails with mac and cheese, he had sweet potatoes and I had collards. The food was amazing and prepared right there while we waited. It was so wonderful to have a home-cooked meal. Mostly we eat at Wawa three times a day, so this was a welcomed addition to our ordinarily bleak existences!
