I came here for Wednesday trivia. It was actually really fun and they had cute Christmas decorations! The staff is soooo sweet! The waitress we got was super nice and they didn’t have an ingredient for a drink I wanted and the bartender personally came to our table to ask me if it was okay for him to switch it out. The food was also good too! I would definitely come back here for trivia

Friendly waiters and spacious. A bit noisy. Food is great and manager checks in frequently to make sure all is well. Will be back for sure.

I recently organized a retirement party for a colleague with only a week’s notice, and Hudson Hound was fantastic in accommodating us. A big thank you to Jen, who was exceptional in helping us select the perfect menu and ensuring we had enough space for our guests. The service was outstanding—everyone was attentive and friendly, making sure our evening went smoothly.

Hudson Hound offers the perfect ambiance for both casual drinks and hosting events. If you’re looking for a place that combines great service with a welcoming atmosphere, look no further. We have spent several evenings and brunches at Hudson Hound, we love it! Jason and his team are nothing short of experts in the client experience. We also have hosted 2 parties there, one was a child's birthday party and the other was a Saturday evening adult birthday party. Both were executed flawlessly leaving our guests with a wonderful experience and memories! I can't recommend them highly enough. Jen, their event coordinator, was not only extremely attentive to our requests and inquiries but a great partner planning both events!

Had a private birthday party here. Very impressed with the quick and attentive service of Nicole! Nicole was incredibly friendly and always on top of the ball. The atmosphere is amazing and the restaurant is very well decorated. Bar tenders are super friendly and the place is lively. The restaurant is handicap accessible including the bathrooms. There is no sign on the bathroom doors indicating accessibility but it is.

This past weekend we had our daughter and her fiancé’s engagement party at HH. From start to finish it was a great experience. We live over an hour and a half away and chose HH in Jersey City as a middle point for family and friends coming from all over. I choose it sight unseen. It’s a great size, but charming with lots of bright light.
I conversed many times with Jen before hand and she was responsive and helpful. She even sent photos. Extended staff helped us unload our car when we arrived. The day of the party, Alana was wonderful even jumping behind the bar when needed. While running the restaurant she consistently checked in to make sure things were running smoothly. She was great.
Kyle was our server, but that title does not even come close to what he did that day. He was so helpful and attentive and went well above anything I could have wished for. He was a real rockstar! We were late for setup (city traffic) and he made sure everything was executed perfectly. Thank you! The place was so great that after the celebration, many stayed to hang around at the bar. My only complaint was that the catered food we ordered went so fast. We ordered plenty, but it was soooo good, people came back for seconds and thirds. Thank you for making our family’s special celebration wonderful!

One of my favorite local pubs in JC. Great relaxed atmosphere with American Irish food. Everything is delicious... I have yet to be disappointed at this place. The service and cocktails are great.

Just had my daughters Roaring 20’s Bridal Shower in Nuckys Speakeasy last night. We really wanted something different with a cool vibe and this place did not disappoint. Sarah Rath the manager went out of her way to work with us and make our vision come to life. The bartender, Lily, was excellent, professional; served us all quickly and with a smile, and there were a lot of special requests. No one waited for a drink and everyone was so impressed by her talent and good nature. Food was great. Sarah helped me pick out the menu and she prepared a special menu card for each place setting. She helped us set up before the event and all through the night she checked in frequently. The job that Sarah and Lily and staff did was outstanding. There is absolutely not one thing I could complain about. It was really a perfect night!

We are from the UK and have lived in Jersey City for many years. Just a week ago, I mentioned how much I miss being able to go to a local pub for a Sunday roast dinner. On my walk home, I spotted Hudson Hound and to my shock, they had Sunday Roast on the menu. The food did not disappoint at all and the live music was a real bonus. Delicious roast dinner and the paté was phenomenal too. The gravy, Yorkshire pudding and mashed potatoes were so full of flavour! Beef perfectly cooked. The ONLY thing that was a bit odd for me was the roast potatoes weren't crispy and were spicy. They weren't bad at all, but weren't as traditional as I was expecting, especially as everything else was. The whole experience was great and I look forward to coming back!

Let me just say that our server Sam was attentive and made our visit enjoyable!

Lets start with the drinks!!!

House Margarita 8/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ was pretty good.. I usually do not like House Margaritas cause of the cheap Tequila that is used but unlike others this was pretty good!!

Apps:
Dry Rub Wings were moist and on point! It had a sweet spicy flavor to them which was good! These are for sure 9/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pigs-in-a-blanket were ok. The dough was a crispy flake texture to them but went well with the yum-yum sauce that came with it 6/10⭐⭐⭐

Entree:
1/2 Pound Burger - Fully loaded was the best burger I have ever had! Juicy on the inside Medium Well with Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoe, Bacon, Avocado, & Fries 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dessert:
Chocolate Lava Cake - this isn’t really a lava inside cake but the flavors were there with the taste of espresso in the sauce was devine! 8/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The ambiance was chill and TVs on with the games!!

Overall will come back again for sure!

Really chill and cozy spot. Gives a nice pub-like atmosphere. We went for cheesecake and coffee there. But the food at the other tables looked good too! The server was really nice and attentive. Would definitely come back again to try the food.

Our go to place Friday evenings for almost an year now , and we are often lucky to find a place . Love the appetizers, and my daughter is a fan of their fish and chips ! Service is 100% and there are different attractions at times , one was a Harry porter themed fun room with butter beer for kids !!

Couldn’t be more enthusiastic about how great this bar has been since opening, their Harry Potter trivia has been amazing and completely disagree with the below 1 start review about the same evening. From my experience the duo who did all of the complaining were rude, obnoxious and from what I could see only came to complain. They didn’t eat, they didn’t drink, they just gave out. Hudson hound is a really wonderful addition to the neighborhood of jersey city and reviews like that really go against then ethos of constructive criticism

Excellent pub restaurant in downtown Jersey City featuring classic Irish staples like fish and chips and shepherds pie.

My wife and I visited here a few days after opening and the food was great, especially the sticky toffee pudding which is heavenly. Don’t leave without it. Seriously.

The service is also quite good, and the prices are reasonable. We found out the outdoor area is dog friendly too, which is a plus for us as we have a dog.

Overall it’s easy to recommend this, and I’d suggest anyone check it out.

The one suggestion I’d make (which I will say applies to a lot of bars in JC) is that I found the beer and cocktail selection a little basic, and nothing really jumped out at me. With that said it’s still a large selection, which is appreciated.

We were there on Saturday to watch Liverpool vs Arsenal (English Premier League Soccer). The staff are so very nice and welcoming - always with a smile. Plenty of TV screens to watch sports. Food was very good too. Felt like such a warm and welcoming place. Thanks for being here in the neighborhood guys.

Unequivocally recommend this dining experience. It is a superb restaurant with excellent cuisine prepared and served by a wonderful staff who are very welcoming, courteous, professional and attentive. The dining area is beautifully rustic, very spacious, important for the indoor dining experience mindful of safe distancing between patrons, in addition to outdoor dining. Absolutely wonderful! The food was marvelous as was the presentation.

Went there one time for a quick drinks with some friends. Didn't stay for the food but I heard the food is good. I plan on going back to try the food.

Absolutely delicious. Full Irish breakfast just like you're on the isle. A unique take on burrata with butternut squash puree, prosciutto, and pickled onions. And the Irish soda bread - yummy! Spoke with the owner - he was a nice guy and a transplant from Ireland (as is the chef). They were supposed to open on March 20 (ugh). Go out and support this #smallbusiness, you won't be disappointed.

I saw this place had a full Irish and I needed it you see because the last one I had was lacking, no puddings, which, it's not like they're my favorite thing but if you're gonna full Irish then go ahead and Irish me fully. And they did. It was delicious food, the breading on the tomato was a nice touch. I ate it too quickly. They had a Brewdog IPA (Elvis Juice) that went well with it, and then let me do a black magic (Guinness and Magic Hat #9).

They were also nice enough to let me move to a bigger table outside when my friends joined for some drinks along with a hairy baby!

Oh and they have a gluten free beer for my partner who said it was great. She wouldn't let me have any it was so good (not true, I was perfectly content with what I ordered). Ten for ten would recommend. Heck I'll take you just to go again. I do wish it wasn't only a brunch thing though.

We found this place, by chance, on social media. Walked past it lots of times but never knew what it was. Instagram/TikTok piqued my interest and then I saw it did a Sunday Roast AND a rhubarb crumble.

Roast beef, chicken, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, gravy and the all important Yorkshire Pudding. Amazing. The Crumble needs to be a permanent fixture on the dessert menu. The Guinness was good too. Great service from Jen and her team. Then we asked Jen about downstairs...

She took us down to Nucky's. Jersey City now has a special speakeasy with sublime service from Steve. When he pours, he reigns. A margarita tasting of Key Like Pie cheesecake, a peach and apricot Old Fashioned? You have to go downstairs.

We look forward to returning, on the ground floor and behind the bar...
