Was actually pleasantly surprised by this place. Plenty of space, attentive staff. Food was very good, probably the best spot in JC for veggies omelette filled with lots of vegetables and cheese🍳. The burger was also good.

I love White Star! I have been here quite a few times to grab drinks or get dinner. My all-time favorite and repeat order is their vegetarian burger, salad and fries! It’s so delicious!! You cannot miss it! Highly recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood.

Such a good burger... Wow. Amazing service with knowledge and it wasn't too busy on Saturday at 11am.

Edit: the fries and bathroom are perfect and spotless, respectively. And Damon (Alex) was laid back and chill yet knowledgeable and incredibly professional.l

Been here a few times now and haven't been disappointed. The burgers are great (I prefer the double burger, double cheese) and the fish sandwich was also really good. This is a great place to come have a drink and some food if you're ever in the neighborhood.

White Star Bar is a wonderful neighborhood gem! It’s the kind of place when you walk in, you know the bartender and the hostess remembers you! The food is always good, definitely suggest any of their burgers, salads, wings, or cocktails!! If you have the pleasure of Tom working behind the bar when you go, he will definitely bring a smile and laugh to you brighten your day!

Good spot. We liked the cocktails and food. The Mac and cheese was appreciated by our son. The bang bang shrimp, buffalo cauliflower, Nachos Grande are good options to try out. If weather permits, seating outside is good place to have your food.

Had lunch at White Star and it was delicious. We got their fish sandwich and lamb burger. Both were amazing. Got sweet potato fries and mac and cheese with it and was a great combo. Enjoyed our meal here. There was outdoor and indoor seating which was plenty.

Great Mac n cheese! It wasn’t too heavy but still had a great flavor. The bacon had a really nice Smokey flavor to it as well. Will have to try other items on the menu next time!

We attended a rehearsal dinner here up above the main dining space. Our server was attentive, quick and friendly. The food and drinks were fantastic and everyone enjoyed themselves. The space above fits around 15 to 18 people and is private enough to have some conversations as well as not feeling congested or crowded. No complaints, they were great to us the whole time.

I love this restaurant, from the staff to works there, the cocktails they make and to the amazing mouth watering burgers. They’re the winners of best burger in all of jersey city. Our server was so nice and helpful. The drinks made by the bartenders were perfect and not at all watered down. I am so coming back here for date night again.

Meat is always fresh and deliciously cooked.
Fries are one of the best I have ever tried.
I like their "tradition" to name burgers after some parts of Jersey City, very interesting and easy to remember.
Free Coke refill makes it even better when you have big burger with fries on the plate.

Absolutely amazing food! Loved the turkey burger, chicken tenders, flatbread pizza, chicken sandwich (careful cause aioli sauce is really spicy, ask for it on the side cause it's still worth the flavor), nachos, hummus, guac burger and fish tacos.

Awesome dinner experience in the summer! Refreshing drinks and delicious Turkey burgers. Personally, outside seating vibes are >>> inside

Burgers are tasty, truffle fries are even better. kids love them.
They name burgers with local street names such as Paulus Hook, Van Vorst, Exchange place, etc

Big thanks to the staff that was very accommodating when we came. It was our first outing with new kiddo and they helped us find space where we could sit with the stroller and helped with some "pumping related logistics" as well. It was our first time coming here and the burgers lived up to the high expectations. Even our 5YO finished every bite (which never happens). Looking forward to returning!

Great menu (we always get the burgers), cute outdoor seating. Recommend reservations as it gets busy (walk ins for 2 people, outdoor seating in the spring/summer is around 40-45 min).

This place is really close to my house and it has some amazing vegetarian options. I ordered a French Onion Soup and a Vegetable House Burger on the side of sweet potato fries, the ingredients in them were so fresh and the overall taste was yumm. I really liked their playlist too ☺

Came here during brunch, the lamp burger is a must have and they have nice outdoor dining , the overall service was great, definitely want to try some of their other dishes.

Just the ticket. First time eating here and it was the exact mix of elevated/casual bar food that we were looking for.
Will definitely come back
