Black Bear Diner Los Banos

SPECTACULAR food!!! Unfortunately, I got better service from the hostess than my waiter. Never ignore your customers and leverage their drinks empty. I would still eat here again, and I Highly recommend this location.

I've gone to the LB Black Bear Diner several times. The place is growing on me. The food is generous, a bit greasy, but that's the point of diner food-a good treat. Today the menu had the philosophy on it, the creedo. I thought I took a photo to share with family who'd visited from abroad (they had grilled cheese sandwich comfort food) but the photo is blurry. I remembered reading something about having affordable portions needing takeout boxes and something about hopefully having authentic staff with personality. Seems accurate to me. What I see is that the diner creates a welcoming atmosphere with the wooded decor and attentive staff. The staff don't hover over diners to ask if everything is okay, but pay attention when asked for help. It seems as if the staff takes pride in the work, treat each other with respect and maintain a good work environment which keeps the diner humming. They busy themselves cleaning which makes the place spotless- now that's a welcome. The menu said there are 140 diners in CA now? Perhaps this business treats its staff right? I sincerely hope so and the place thrives. I enjoy going to Black Bear Diner and taking others there too for the experience. Thanks

I had a wonderful experience with Silvia as our waitress. We were immediately greeted and seated by the hostess. Silvia delivered exceptional service to us at our visit. She was very friendly, checked up on us to make sure that everything was good, and delivered our food and drinks quickly. I ordered a club sandwich with fries and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend Black Bear Diner to others. Thank you for a great lunch experience!!

This restaurant is a great place to eat! It's very welcoming and family oriented. Food was good and the customer service was great. A young lady named Alexis was very helpful and made the whole experience enjoyable and she gave us lots of attention. Anyone who goes to this restaurant I hope she helps you out cause she was amazing. You can tell she loves helping people and enjoys what she does! Thank you for the great customer service!

Absolutely loved my experience at Black Bear Diner! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The food was exceptional - generous portions and bursting with flavor. The service was top-notch; Alexis was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially during these times. Overall, Black Bear Diner exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return for another delicious meal

This place was perfect for me. I'm from Alaska...enough said...lol. Food was delicious. My waitress was friendly and attentive. Come hungry! Had the Grizz: 2 pancakes, 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage links, 1/4 ham steak. My only complaint: Because the pancakes were so thick, they were a little doughy in the center. Otherwise, the flavor was good. Fantastic place!

Had a wonderful experience here food was delicious, atmosphere was awesome, and service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and had a big smile serving us throughout our meal which made for an enjoyable time. Thanks so much to Alexis! Will most definitely have to come back soon.

We love coming to this black bear! The service is always great. We had dinner and Angel was our waiter. He was very attentive and friendly. He checked in with us often to make sure everything was as expected. I was really impressed with him because he was handling multiple tables at a time and did an excellent job attending to everyone.
I had the surf and turf (new to the menu) the steak and shrimp had great flavor. They did overcook my steak but I didn't mind. Ordered medium and it was more medium well. The baked potato was good but the green beans were a bit bland.
My partner ordered the meatloaf and he loved it.
We go here often for breakfast and personally, I enjoy their breakfast menu the most.

Mina is a very gracious hostess. Waited on us in a timely manner. Asked if we wanted water, coffee and came around to see if we were enjoying our breakfast. She made our visit very pleasant, will return.

We were passing through Los Banos and decided to grab something to eat. We stopped at the black Bear diner. I got the sweet cream waffles. They were good but the thing that would have me coming back would be the service that we got from Lexie. She was super sweet and awesome she told us about all the specials that were going on that day, she always made sure we had everything we needed so if you ever looking for somewhere to go eat make sure you stop in and get Lexi as your server.

Absolutely love this place ! Never a bad moment. Our server Alexis Parra was just absolutely amazing and made our experience here unforgettable. Despite it being a bit busy, she always made sure we had everything we needed. Food was great too ! Always get such a homey feeling when I come !

Was given service by Isabella, not only was she prompt with our orders but also gave extra attention to the special request. Her happy inviting smile was definitely a plus. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant!

We had mina as our server she is very nice and on top of all the customers. Defiantly made the meal enjoyable not once did we have to look for her she was awesome and knew exactly what she was doing. Would defiantly come back!!!

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and kind people! I do have to say though, I blame the waitress named Mina for the wonderful experience of it all and for the quick, effective, and efficient service, and most importantly good coffee. I have been coming here ever since I moved to Los Banos. I have been super impressed with the service and friendly atmosphere. I have to mention Adriana as a server she has made me feel most comfortable dinning with her friendly demeanor and unmatched service keep me coming back and not looking to go anywhere else. My coffee cup is never empty and she always ask if I need anything.

Went to black bear a few days ago, and had Lexie as our server. She was super friendly & helpful. Gave great menu recommendations and was super fast. Loved her! The food was great, I always love this place!! Shoutout to Lexie for slaying our table.
