El Agave Mexican Cuisine

This was perfect, just what we were looking for! My husband and I wanted some good authentic Mexican and knew somewhere in Freehold would have it. We were thrilled to find this place and had exactly what we were looking for! Right from the empanada appetizers at the start, one of their amazing burritos and a dish I can't remember but it was listed as 7A under the dinners! It also came with three little salsas and sauces which were all excellent! We will definitely be back to try more of their meals! Also, the decor is very cute and the service was great!

Omg 😲 Everything Top Tier . The portion size is excellent. Clean silverware, The dishes are so authentic. The rice is delicious. The sauces nape, I mean the viscosity of it is on point , no breaks. I'm so satisfied. Go see Diego he is a great server , check back and made sure we were happy. The lighting is so beautiful. I mean of I was 14 again I would have my quincinera here . I'm very happy. If any body says that this place isn't good your taste buds must be used to taco bell cus this flavor and taste textures are Devine. The proteins are fire. I mean the pan sear on the meat is Excellent. I had The Siren and my friend had the fried Diablo fish . There's no miss. Don't expect rushed food ,it takes time to make the nummies.

Somehow we've never been here before, and I regret that. This place is amazing! The staff is friendly and helpful. The menu is extensive without being repetitive. Everything was super fresh and absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of Birria and this place did not disappoint. I'm very particular about guacamole and while I enjoy it they're very few places that do it well. These guys hit it out of the park. Also try their salsa verde and flan. The flan was one of the best ones I've ever had. Firstly it was a large portion and was not sickeningly sweet. Secondly it was dense yet super creamy, just simply great. Can't wait to come back here with the kids.

The food here was absolutely delicious! We got the Birria burrito which was so flavorful. The Mole con Pollo was juicy and amazing on the soft tortillas. Jamaica and horchata were also both the perfect amount of sweetness. Staff was also great! Highly recommend!

First time trying this place, went out with family. With so many places to eat in boro it’s easy to overlook but this place had great food, great light background music, and fast charming service. Serving sizes were perfect, the chimichanga was bangin, no wallet pain either. Will definitely eat here again

This restaurant was awesome, and one of the best Mexican restaurants I have tried in a long time. The food was exemplary and one thing that I thought the atmosphere was incredible. The restaurant had beautiful decor and you felt like you were in a whole new place. Unfortunately at first glance the restaurant is difficult to spot if you aren't familiar with the area but that is not an issue. The customer service honestly is the best aspect. The man who served my party of 4 was such a kind and patient person answering the questions and describing dishes for us. He worked quickly and on top of that when we had told him we wanted to order desert for a party member's birthday they had gone through the effort of getting a candle as well as playing birthday music throughout the store making the night truly majestic. If you ever have time you should go here. Not just for the food but the atmosphere and goodwill of the employees it's simply not something you should miss out on and they have plenty of options for all types of people meaning that if you bring a large party, everyone in your party will definitely have something that they can eat, whether that be vegetarian meat or otherwise. Overall a great restaurant. Cannot wait to visit again.

The food was very authentic. Everything was delicious 😋. We loved it. The staff was super friendly and very pleasant, they aim to please. The tables where very beautiful. The art work and craft on the tables is amazing. We were soooo amazing by the tables. A +

I have been to other places yet this place took the cake. This restaurant was amazing. The service and waiter were kind and patient. The food was amazing and delicious. The decor was unique. The tables, floor, bathroom and space were clean and sanitary. They provide free parking for costumers. Overall just a great experience.

Hidden gem. Authentic large portions delicious! Guacamole made to order. Two sauces - 1 very hot, green sauce nice and mild…. I had the chicken burrito which was the perfect amount of chicken rice and beans - not just full of rice. Wife had empanadas and loved it. Good prices BYOB.

Hidden gem in Freehold! The Mexican food is authentic and delicious! I highly recommend anything that’s topped with Chipotle cream sauce or green sauce. They start you with complimentary chips with salsa and a green dip. The best burrito I ever had in my life is the Burrito Agave! The creamy chipotle sauce it’s covered in is to die for! It was nice and cheesy inside too! I also had the Enchiladas Enmoladas and the Burrito Bandera. Both were also delicious! The green sauce that’s topped on half of the Burrito Bamdera is amazing as well! The ranchera side was good, but not my personal favorite sauce here. I had the rice pudding chimichanga for dessert. It was good, but not something I’d order again. I want to try the Mexican flan or tres leches next time. The menu is huge here. There are so many more dishes to try. I highly recommend El Agave in Freehold!

I can't speak to the atmosphere or service of the restaurant. While I've peeped at it on my walks around the borough, and it looks inviting, I've only ever ordered takeout via Grubhub from this business. I'm disappointed in myself that it took me so long to try it! I suppose that's because there's several other Mexican options in the borough I'm familiar with after living here over a decade? Now I can't stop ordering. Listen, I'm white as hell and born and raised in Jersey, so I'm clearly no expert regarding Mexican cuisine, but I *have* traveled through Mexico quite a bit and this place absolutely matches the deliciousness and quality of the authentic dishes I've experienced across the border. Everything I've ordered here has been excellent but no matter what you do, you MUST order the guac & chips!

Apparently this restaurant has been open for 3 years, i had no idea. The food was delicious. The service was great, they didnt rush us. I hate when a restaurant rushes you through your meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic spot! The food is delicious and the service, superb. We wanted to sit outside but the tables were all taken so they brought one outside for us. They totally didn't have to do that. We would have just sat inside, but they did and we really appreciated it! Will definitely coming back here! P.S. It's BYO

In my opinion this is the best Mexican food in Freehold and maybe even Monmouth county. I ordered sopes with Asada for take out, loved it and came to the restaurant. I love the decor and everyone was friendly. The salsas and the rice are superb as is the black beans. I look forward to coming back and having the Huaraches and trying the other dishes. Worth a visit.

Easy to order, ready on time. Excellent food. Mini flautas, Mexican nachos, asada chimichanga, and alambre mix to dinner were so good. The guacamole was one of the best. Huge portions. We'll be back!
