Pat helped me on my first engine rebuild. 83 Toyota 22r. Honed and cleaned my block, head, and small parts. Gave me good advice on buying headers instead of honing old exhaust manifold. Would recommend to anyone that needs parts honed or cleaned.

Took my wife's 01 subaru forester heads after a blown head gasket. Valves need work. This was first time using this machine shop. Went above and beyond my expectations. Very happy with quality of work. They look brand new.

These guys are fantastic. As a complete amateur non-mechanic I was trying to get a '98 Forester with blown head gaskets to run again. Olympia Engine Builders machined both suburu heads (must be done when HG blow) for something like $90 AND they had it done in less than 24 hours (which may be atypical, seems almost TOO fast). Then, when I snapped a camshaft bracket bolt in the head during reinstall they removed it and installed a helicoil for something like $35. Again, this only took a day. Bringing this great little car back from the dead wouldn't have been possible without them. Highly, highly recommend.

Read his reviews. Pat is short for prick. He's built a 2.3 Mazda dizi and he doesn't know what he is doing.
1. He doesn't know how to check bucket clearances and all were way out of spec. The engine sounded like a diesel.
2. He assembled the engine and didn't set timing correctly and handed back to the owner

The owner of the car then installed and found out the timing was set incorrectly and when we fixed that and fired it up the engine sounded terrible because improper tappets were installed.

He sells me the car and I fix the tappets by ordering the proper sizes.

Fast forward to today. I kinda shrugged off that guy's account of his experience with the business but boy was I wrong. I pull up and he comes out and asks what I need. I tell him I have a 2.3 dizi motor that needs bored, decked and check the crank. He looks at it and says well I'm going to have to charge you 700 to disassemble it. It's already down to the ladder frame so he would have to remove 10 bolts there, and another 8 for the connecting rods and it's fully disassembled.

I tell him that's the "I don't want your business price" and he says he's super busy. None the less I say I have a head that needs work too. He then says what needs to be done.

Gee what needs done with all heads that walk through your door. They need to be checked for straightness, valve seats checked and valves need to be checked for straightness along with new valve seals.

So he then asks me what he is supposed to do with the old Pistons and rods from that motor and I lost it. He's a machine shop...spare metal is picked up by your recycler and or there are local guys who go around picking up metal at every dealership/shop that allows them to take it.

I tell him I'm going to write a review and he literally tells me "you're not a customer".

That's right I'll continue to take my business to machine shops that know what they are doing. Even if I have to drive a little more..

I'll post a picture of the invoice when I get to the car that has the receipt in it since he will claim he didn't do the work.

I try to understand other perspectives and not leave negative reviews but I wouldn't want anyone else to be treated in the same dishonest, confrontational and disrespectful way as us. My son was quoted a flat rate for resurfacing heads and then upon returning to pick them up the next day, there was an additional charge for 50% more on top of the quote. The owner itemized it as "removing the pulley gear" which was never discussed when we dropped the part off and should have been mentioned. But the money wasn't the biggest issue, it was his attitude toward me and the way he bullied my son when we had questions. I called to ask why he didn't mention this fee when we dropped the heads off (or called us to okay the additional fee) and he didn't have an answer. He later told my son it was because he wasn't paying attention and didn't have time to call us and ask...that's negligence on his part that he then passed on to us. When I told him I would have appreciated a call and that wasn't right to surprise us upon pick up, he told me if I didn't like the price I could just leave our parts there and forget about them, call the police, or file a claim with the better business bureau. What on earth?! He also condescendingly said to my son (whose car part it was) "if you didn't have your mommy call to ask about the charge, and instead discussed this like a real man, maybe I could have cut you a deal." Absolutely unexceptionable. Bullying a teenager is not a good look. A customer should be able to call and ask for clarification when they're paying for a service. Stay far away from this business. They're untrustworthy, extremely disrespectful and then confrontational on top of that.

Would NOT recommend these people. The owner wasn’t honest about the price and charged me more than he said. When I went to talk with him about it he told me not to tell him how to run his business and that I could pay the price, leave the part, or call the cops. Then proceeded to be extremely rude the next time I came in.
