Another great tubing adventure with Saco River Tubing. Our first trip, 4th of July week was canceled due to the unbelievable amounts of rain. Totally understandable. This trip didn't disappoint. We were going to be a bit late because rt 16 had construction and was down to only 1 lane. Unfortunately, coming from 2 hours away, we had no idea. Called and woman was understanding and just said get here as fast as you can :) got there actually close to check in time (30 minutes prior to shuttle departure - very clear in the 5 emails they send you leasing up to your trip), checked in and tried to find the 3 mile shuttle parking. Got lost because we totally missed Lindsey's Paint Store. So we missed our scheduled shuttle, but we called the office and again, very accommodating. Got us on the next shuttle. Shuttle driver couldnt be more clear that your tubing adventure is NOT GUIDED AND UNATTENDED. Rest of the tubing the trip was great, as always! Can't wait for August's trip!

The river is absolutely beautiful and the staff are wonderful. We went twice this year, once for tubing and once for kayaking, and had a wonderful time for each.

Great company to rent from if you're going kayaking or canoeing for the day! I've used them for a few years now. They have various length trips to take and the views from start to finish are beautiful .

High recommendations! SCRC is certainly well worth the dollar value for a day on the Saco River. This company is well organized, professional, courteous and your safety and great time in mind. The registration property is well maintained and seems to be always busy. I suggest making your reservations online to save time, and to be sure that you get an early start. If your doing the long run, plan it early. The 5 mile is worth the money, its seems much longer when the day is done. We did 2 canoes, and 1 single kayak . We had sandwiches while we waited, but you can pack your lunch in a small cooler to take along because you are encouraged to stop along the river to take a break for some lunch, swim in the river or drop into the river with several spot that have rope swings along the river (this was especially fun). If you're careful you stock a cooler with food to take along. They offer cooler floats that you tether along on your canoe or kayak. Use of the drybag is handy for lunch also and these are available to rent ($10) but not as roomy as a cooler. Things at the store are reasonably priced. So this company doesn't hurt your wallet. Sunscreen is a must. Its mostly sunny, and there are shady areas but you know how that is when your trying not to get sun burn. The only thing that I feel is a negative at no fault to SCRC is that some people consume alcohol while on the river. Some tend to be obnoxious. You pass several campgrounds that are along the river and see many swimming along rivers edge. You are encourage only to stop at the many open spots along the river that aren't associated with the private campground or private property. This company offer tubing, and shorter distance trip, but the longer the more enjoyable. We kept saying when does it end???? The bus driver (curly headed bearded guy who wears a hat and sunglasses) we had when they bring you to the initial drop off point was enjoyable. He answer any questions we had and was great with the kids that were on the bus. These guys work hard to make sure you have a great time and are safe. You get the life jacket, with the rental. I hope this was some helpful into about this canoe company. I would definitely recommend for the family or even a couple looking to get away for a nice weekend together.

We kayaked and had a good experience on the Saco river. Lots of tubes to navigate between towards the end of the trip.

Beautiful paddle on July 5, 2021. River was flowing at about 530cfs after getting rain on July 4th weekend. Would recommend Saco Canoe Rentals Company and hope to be back in the future!

Low water level yesterday 7/13/21 (lots of signage alerting water anywhere from 6"- 8' and they're not kidding lol), kayaking 5 miles was about 2.5 hours of hard working fun. Sure, we got stuck in sand a few times, but it's nature and expected; Part of the experience. Good stuff! (Definitely wear sneakers or water shoes)

We saw a bald eagle, a beautiful crane coming in for a landing with a huge wingspan, got to float among a flock of Canadian geese on the river, and the views were just lovely.

And yes, there are tubing folks floating and creating walls of tied together madness and campers swimming along the shore at points, but if you are in a kayak...smile and say HI and maybe EXCUSE US (like we did) it's no trouble paddling by. Funny what being nice can do... hahaa!

Easy online registration, Port-a-Johns available, clean equipment, and friendly employees who load and reload your kayak! Winnah winnah chicken dinnah! We had SO MUCH FUN. We definitely recommend Saco river kayak rentals and will be back soon.

A group of 7 of us went here and did the 5 mile kayak trip. It was fun, once you’re actually on the river there’s no micromanaging or anything. You’re free to do what you want.

Definitely a close second to floating the Frio, Comal or Guadalupe in Texas. If you want clean natural beauty at an extremely slow pace, the Saco with these guys is where to be. The crew was cool and efficient. My tube was low on air and didn’t make for the best trip down the river but I made it after a 5 hour float!

Awesome service. They rent you watercraft, they shuttle you to a spot, and you travel back to their location to return the watercraft. Does what it says on the box for a reasonable rate. Contrary to the illusions clearly held by negative reviewers, the owners and staff are not literally the God of rivers, and do not control the river conditions, nor the other users of the river and their habits. They also cannot magically teleport you back in time to catch the bus that the other 12 patrons arrived on time for if you're late. These are good folks who run a good business and we had a great time.

We have been coming here as a family(20 people) and have never had a problem. The staff are friendly and efficient. We have come here for the last 4-5 years. Reading some of these complaints: 1. They get busy and try to get people on the river as soon as possible. CHILL! 2. It's nature expect to do a little work when the river is low. If you want know work go to a lazy river at a park. Sorry for the long review but just wanted to let you guys know you do a great job. You don't get told enough., Can't wait for 7/21

Very busy this time of year but I had a great time. The shuttle guys were great and they even helped me get the boat out at the end of the trip. This was my 5th time and I will definitely go again. They take all of the hassle out of going for a paddle. You don't have to load and unload boats, no need to bring two vehicles, it's so much less work it's great! Great for beginners as the rapids are pretty tame and the Saco is fairly shallow as well. Paddle On!

Great (and fairly cheap) way to have an afternoon of fun on the water. For total of just $60, we got 2 kayak rentals, a waterproof bag rental, and were driven and dropped off 5 miles (9 miles is a great option too) up river, then we thoroughly enjoyed kayaking down river back to our car. River conditions vary widely depending on the season offering real challenge during the spring melt. By summers end it is an easy, shallow float. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great spots to pause around every bend to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.

A must do! Made reservations online. Completed forms online. Only had to pay at the office and got right on the shuttle bus. For the 1 mile tubing trip they take you up the river so you float back to their parking lot. No waiting for a shuttle to pick you up. Great company with awesome people! Make sure you reserve early. And make sure you have water shoes.
