Scott and I had a one week experience fishing Lake Fork with James Caldemeyer. We showed up during a cold front first couple of days and bad weather / tornadoes and storms a little South on the fourth day. The weather made it very tough for fishing. James did an excellent job locating large Bass during post frontal conditions. We caught several bass ranging from 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 lb bass. Great trip we've already planned for next year. James is a great guide, we learned quite a bit!

James is the best Bass guide that I have ever fished with! I consistently caught 5 to 8 pound bass during the entire trip !! More important to me, is that James is a man of faith. He demonstrated this throughout the trip with my son and myself. We have another trip planned this Summer. I wouldn’t consider using any other guide on Lake Fork !

My wife and I have been fishing with James since 2017. This year we fished with him for two weeks and had the fishing experience of our lives!! James knows Lake Fork like the “back of his hand”! This trip we had variable weather conditions and despite weather changes, days after rain, wind direction changes, we caught sizable fish every day! Hands down the best fishing trip ever. For four days, my 3 friends and I caugh a lot of large mouth bass. It’s Easley the most 4-7lb large mouth, I have caught in my 50 years of fishing. Had an unbelievable day on the water with James for my first ever time on lake fork. I was able to catch my pb at 8.90lbs as well as my first dirty thirty with a 32lb bag. I got the pleasure of going out with james for a half day in mid august. The fishing had been tough all week. He still got me on fish and taught me how to go about finding fish in deep water. I really enjoyed that he took the time to awnser all my questions and show me how he uses his electronics to find them and then actually catch the ones I find. After our half day I went out many times over the next few days and was able to find bass in deep water and continue to catch throughout my stay at Lake Fork. I highly recommend James! I had a great experience and learned more in a half day with James than I have in the last 5 years watching you tube videos on how to find deep bass with electronics and catch them.

We have been bass fishing Lake Fork for years. About 8 years ago, we decided to try a guide on the lake to increase our knowledge of the lake and learn new areas. We looked at many guides and it was obvious to us that James was our guy. This was the best decision we have ever made when it comes to bass fishing. When my sister, niece and I decided to get away for a late July weekend and do some fishing, I contacted 5 different guides in the Lake Fork area. I wasn’t sure whether anyone would take seriously 3 women who don’t know much about fishing, but I was hopeful someone would respond and help us fulfill this bucket list goal. Of the 5 guides, James Caldemeyer was the only one who picked up the phone and called me back. We had a perfect experience with him. James is a humble man and patient guide. He fishes with some of the best guys out there and reels in big trophy catches, but he also took seriously three gals who just wanted to learn and enjoy the sport. He patiently taught each one of us how to spin cast and he was expert at identifying what each of us needed to adjust to get our casting right. He kept a watchful eye thru the whole trip so that we didn’t have any accidents or hook each other instead of a fish! 😁 He worked hard to find us spots where we had a good chance of getting bites in spite of the extreme, unfavorable heat. And it was a success! We’ve done some bank fishing before but have never caught large bass like these. James coached us each time we got a bite so that we learned how to “set” the catch and successfully reel them in. It was a fantastic day, and we are deeply appreciative of James working hard to teach and empower three ladies so that we now feel confident to go out and try it again. We give our strongest recommendation for using James as a guide for your next fishing adventure!

Had a great time with James. He's definitely a big bass guy! Only caught 2 fish but one was a 5lber and the other was an 8lber!! If you want to target Trophy Largemouth James is definitely your guy!

Made the trip out from Arizona to fish lake fork for the first time with my 13 year old son. We hired James for 2 half days of fishing. His service and expertise was top notch. Can’t wait for next year!

James is your go to professional guide on Lake Fork. You would be hard pressed to find someone who knows this lake more than James. We booked two full days of fishing and James worked hard to get us on the fish. Both days were over 100 degrees and the conditions were challenging. James helped us catch our personal best and our top 5 fish would have been over a 30lb bag. When others were getting off the water we stuck with it and it paid off. I have been on several guided trips and was impressed with the quality of his boat (The Bass Cat won me over!!!) and all of his tackle was in excellent condition. You can tell he takes pride in his everything he does as a guide and as a professional fisherman. We look forward to booking with James again soon.

Just finished a spring trip to Fork with James, and as always the weather was a factor. James knew we were after fish of substance and not just numbers.
He had a plan and stuck with it and taught us a lot about fishing between fronts when the fish are stuck in transition. I ended up landing a 7.76 (close to my PB) and my Dad landed just under a 5. A couple of quality fish coupled with a ton of knowledge and just down to earth conversation made the trip. James was awesome. Even when the fishing was tough, it was nice just to have conversation and learn from somebody that's on the lake day after day. If you're looking for a trip to one of the Trophy Bass Capitals, I highly recommend James and his services.

James is an extremely knowledgeable guide and a fantastic host. We were faced with scorching heat and James was still able to put us on some fish. One guy in our group caught his new personal best! James has everything you need from the best experience and equipment to great conversation. All you have to bring are good hook sets because he’ll take take you wherever the big bass are. Would highly recommend booking with him. Our day on the lake was the highlight of our trip and plan to come back and book with him again.

My friend Tim and I went to Lake Fork this week for my birthday. Given we had heard there was a tournament over the weekend (with 1000+ boats), we were a bit concerned about our chances. But James Caldemeyer came through big time. He put us on the fish at every spot, including the last one which produced these two monsters (PBs for both of us). Our last 5 fish together weighed well over 35 lbs. Aside from the success we experienced, James is extremely knowledgeable about the lake and fishing in general. He provided both of us with great instruction along the way that will certainly make us better fishermen. And being with James was a ton of fun as he tells great jokes and we had great conversation on a number of topics. His boat is prefect for fishing and was extremely comfortable.
