We visited Villa Nueva Bakery early in the morning and were pleased to find it wasn't crowded, unlike the neighboring Panera Bread which was bustling with people. While Panera has a corporate feel and offers generic food, Villa Nueva Bakery provided a refreshing change. We didn't come all the way to Coronado Island to eat at a breakfast place that you can find on every corner in America; we preferred the idea of dining at a lesser-known local restaurant with better food.

The tuna sandwich with avocado and sprouts was hearty and generously sized, especially considering its moderate price. The pancake sandwich could rival those from breakfast chains in terms of size, flavor, and price. Additionally, they also have day-old discount muffins, which shows they are conscious about not wasting food by throwing them out. When visiting Coronado Island, it's places like Villa Nueva Bakery that you should seek out, rather than the big chain restaurants that often offer little value for their overpriced menus.

Went here for brunch on our first day to Coronado. The lady at the counter was pleasant. Food took a little long to arrive but I guess that means it’s freshly prepared.

We ordered the Turkey Club Sandwich, Granola Bowl which came with a Muffin and Chicken tenders with Fries.

The coffee was okay.

No toilets in the restaurant, had to use Starbucks’ next door.

The best place to have breakfast in Coronado. Super excited to learn that they will be opened until late during the summer with tacos on their menu.
The owners walk the talk, service and food are amazing. I am not a professional photographer but these are the best huevos ahogados ever!!! Great salsa roja!

We went here back to back days because it was so good!
The French toast is a MUST HAVE! The apple filling they provide for it makes it go to the next level.
The classic 2 egg breakfast is delicious.
Very welcoming environment.

We have visited this place twice now and I can say it is very good. We have tried so far pastries and hot chocolate. They also serve cooked food that we plan on trying in the future. Service was excellent. We will be back

We came across Villa Nueva while walking downtown Coronado and no intention of eating here. But as we passed, we noticed many people sitting outside eating and their food looked really good. We got coffee and pastries - the coconut pineapple muffin was delicious. And then decided to get breakfast. The food was so good we ended up coming back a second time for the breakfast burrito and chilaquiles. Definitely recommend!

Cute authentic little place for some delicious food. Muffins are huge and fresh. Cobb salad was just the right size and they made my matcha perfectly. I would recommend and go back.

I stayed here for a weekend in Coronado and I wanted to eat locally for breakfast when you walk in at first it looks like a regular pastry café but they have a full sandwich menu and possibly more I only read the sandwich part I believe it’s family owned and they go out of their way to make you feel more than a customer the young ladies that work behind the counters are wonderful and their customer service exceeds the staff went out of the way to customize my sandwich and the food and the sandwiches are delicious

I had a great time enjoying a double cappuccino at Villanueva.
In another life I enjoyed the chilaquiles, but that was a long time ago. Perhaps it is time to desayunar alla once more!
