This is 3 places in 1! On the corner is a dinner vibe with outdoor tables. Very traditional American food. Next to it is a window walk up coffee shop. Next to that is Clayton’s Mexican Takeout. Walk in the door to order and there’s 2 tables outside so you can eat on site. The portions are huge, the flavor is great! We came in and got the King Monster Burrito and the Coronado Surf and Turf Burrito. Both were amazing! We will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu!

Absolutely delicious food. Don't let the size of the place deter you. Got the birria California burrito and it did not disappoint. Great price for the amount of food.
A must stop if you are craving this style of food in the area.

Fantastic hole in the wall burrito annex just behind the main Clayton's coffee shop. Food was ready quick, though be careful to listen for your order because they often yell dishes rather than order numbers.

Ordered the birria California burrito, and it was outstanding, with plenty of filling.

The best pure Mexican takeout in San Diego. Carne asada fries and rolled tacos are a must!

It is a hole in the wall that delivers the best tacos and burritos. We tried their street tacos with shrimp, veg burritos, and chicken burritos. The tacos and veg burritos had us come back second time. You have tables outside for a quick bite. Definitely give it a try and you will like it. The places has a good traffic all the time and service is fast.

Food has been amazing every time. The one time they messed up our order, they rectified it amazingly. Always great and fast service. Definitely recommend.

The first place we stop when we drive from Texas to San Diego. We bypass the entire city and cross the bridge just to come here before we do anything else in town. That's how good the food is.

No seating inside but we were able to grab a table outside. Portions were very generous and prices were reasonable. Great spot to stop in for lunch

The Coronado burrito was amazing! So big it fed me for multiple meals. The red sauce is one of the best I’ve had in the area.

I’m not exaggerating when I say these are the absolute best carnitas I have ever had in my life. I’m so glad we discovered this our first night in town because we will definitely be coming back throughout our stay. If you’re in the area do yourself a favor and visit Clayton’s!

I ate a pair of breakfast burritos here last week and they were fabulous. The to-go counter is bustling, the food is delicious and the breakfast is really good. There's also a to-go coffee counter directly next to the Mexican food counter which makes for a great quick breakfast combination!

Hit the spot. Just got into town and took a flyer and was very pleased with everything. Carne Asada taco was great and their Chicken taco was legit. Also had a fish taco. What I really liked was the homemade chips and salsa. Salsa was very fresh.
