A & J King Artisan Bakers

Nice bakery with tons of fresh pastries. Looks like they sell whole sliced or unsized loaves too. Some indoor seating and high chairs are available. Loved the coffee!

We live right around the corner and come here all the time! The staff is so incredibly friendly. Our favorite menu items are the nest egg and salmon bagel. We recently discovered their weekend bagels and they're AMAZING. I wish they had a few more dairy free or vegan items since I'm dairy free but they are always accommodating for dietary preferences. We love our neighborhood bakery!

From all the bakeries we went to in Salem this one was our favorite by far!

We ordered two buns with vegan cream cheese, a banana chocolate chip muffin and a coffee.

AJKing is great. Their pastries and baked goods always hit and are worth it. I haven’t been let down anytime I’ve come here. Their sandwiches are great. You can hang out here without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is great for catching up with a friend or people watching outside. FOH workers are all very professional and friendly.

I've been a fan of this place for years - their scones are perfection - especially the ginger pear. They used to have a huge plate glass window where you could watch the bakers do their thing, that has now been turned into extra seating - which is a good thing, because they need it!

Expensive but amazing truly a good choice if you want something sweet for your morning. The sticky buns, kouign-amanns, apple tarts, cookies, scones, muffins, and breads of this location are phenomenal. Any time i go here i usually end up spending about $100.00 and my goodness is it worth it. I'd share pictures but i ate it all. 10/10 definitely try this place.

This place was amazing! So cozy and welcoming and in a perfect location in the heart of Salem. The baristas were so sweet and funny while being helpful. Our food and drinks were ready quickly and were delicious. We got the lemon danish and coconut scone and both were fantastic. I got a latte and my partner got the sparkling lavender lemonade which they are still talking about because it was so delicious. The perfect place to spend a rainy morning - we cant wait to go back.

One of the best french bakeries on the north shore. Get the kouign-amann and whatever danish they are offering that day. Last time I was there they had a cheese Danish with orange zest and pistachios. So yummy. If you know you know!

A & J Bakery was such a refreshing experience in Salem Massachusets. I am a traveling wedding and event photographer and needed a good quiet place to meet up with a friend before things got crazy and we headed up the coast. Coffee was delicious, our savory croissant was devine and best of all, the customer interaction was legitimately friendly and thoughtful. my friend brought her 2 year old who was fiesty and vocal and customers and staff treated her kindly and with laughter instead of resentment. i was so impressed. The wood tables and the natural light and aesthetic presentation of the shop was also lovely. when i return to Salem, i'd want to make A & J my stopping ground for client meet ups (and of course pretty much eat my ENTIRE way through their whole menu.) #priorities lol THANK YOU A&J! You guys were a highlight on our trip!

has become my favorite place to get coffee and croissant in the morning. Vanilla latte and almond croissant are very good. So sad only pick up or take away during the pandemic. Hope the situation get better and we can have coffee inside the cute place.

To start with… I’m not the bread fan AT ALL, but this place exceeded all my expectations. When I order sandwiches, I normally eat the filling but never eat the bread. This is the only place where I not only FINISH the bread, but want more of it 😅 absolutely best bakery in the area!

Really the best croissants 🥐 not sold in Paris! Also, had a very delicious gumbo, that was like a trip to New Orleans! Service always very fast! Also, love their baguettes 🥖 and Kouign-Amanns! Spectacular French bakery!!

FABULOUS pastry and bread made fresh. The service staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We even got a bag of espresso beans and some pastries to go after we ate because everything was so tasty. Thank you for a great low stress experience.

There is literally no better place to get bread, or baked goods of any kind... not to mention their incredible coffee! The quality and artistry that goes into the product here are unmatched anywhere else in this region. The staff is skilful, friendly, and prompt. The owners are visionary and down-to-earth. Everything about A&J King Artisan Bakers is the best.

The pastries here are sooo good! Great place to start your morning in Salem!! Very close to the main downtown area and all the attractions.

This place is FANTASTIC! Its not located on the main streets of Salem, but it is absolutely worth finding. Everything is locally sourced, which means the menu is always changing, depending on what it in season. If you visit, I strongly urge you to try a grape pie, which they make totally from scratch, from the flaky crust to a filling made only with fresh Concord grapes and sugar. It was beyond delicious. Be prepared to wait.
