Captain's Choice has taken great care of our Ye-Old 1987 SeaRay for years. Thanks to their wonderful maintenance, it keeps on running. They summerized my boat in short notice- many thank yous. Russ helped with a tricky trailer. All around 5 stars. Great business.

I can’t even begin to say enough good things about these guys!! We are here on vacation and our boat quit running. I sent Don a message on messenger and he responded at 11:15 pm that alone is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE . He told me to bring my boat in the next morning which I did. He sent me to service to see Tyler. Tyler said he would try to get to it the same day!! Another GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not only did they work it in they fixed it the same day! They were EXTREMELY fair on repair cost much lower than I expected. These guys are amazing and absolutely know what old school customer service is about. I will now be a forever customer even though I live in Brighton,MI I will make the trip the next time my boat needs service. I would also like to thank the marine service tech that fixed my boat. What a great group of guys here they truly knocked it out of the park. Thanks again I truly appreciate you all!!

My experience with Captain's Choice.... Honestly, ive never even heard of them until this year when I was searching high and low for a place to work on my fishing boat.

Fishing boat experience (first time customer) - I had bought a fishing boat from a friend that needed carb work so I called a few places to see about getting the work done. Shop one returned the boat in worse shape than when I dropped it off. Shop two threw some red flags with the way they interact with their customers, so i picked it up and started searching for a shop that actually cared when I came across captains choice. Granted, I was a little leary due to the small size compared to some of the larger marinas I have been to over the years. I gave them a shot and they came in with a better price, and more sound diagnostics. Come to find out, the carbs weren't out of sync, the engine was toast. They did show me every piece of evidence proving such as well. I went a different route with a smaller engine, doing the work (swapping outboards) myself.
- Over all, a great experience with them, given the circumstances.

Vessel #2 they have worked on. - I picked up a jet ski that needed a starter (or so I was told). I went to two other shops before coming back to captains choice (never hurts to have more than one estimate) for diagnostics and quotes. Took it to captains choice for the work to be performed and they came in less expensive than any other shop ive talked to. And... they even fixed a couple other small issues for me. Haven't had an issue since with this jet ski. - now I'm becoming a loyal customer.

Vessel #3 - I bought a cabin cruiser they had done a decent amount of work on over the years. I took it out over the weekend and had a hiccup while out. I called them and they promptly got the vessel in and are doing what they can to get me back on the water as soon as possible. That right there is customer service at its finest. Thus making me a die hard customer and will no longer be price checking anywhere else, getting second opinions, etc...

If you made it this far in my review, let me recap by just saying this. captains choice is a no brainer for me. 100% of the time, they have been cheaper, better quality of work, and more respectful than any other places I have been. Will they always be cheaper than the next guy? Probably not, and I'm okay with paying the extra after seeing the capabilities of this shop. When you come here, you almost become part of a family. Thats how it feels anyways. I will recommend my friends, family, or anybody to check this place out and give them a shot at earning your repeat business as well. They have definitely earned mine. As long as I own a watercraft, they will see me anytime I need work, parts, or accessories. 10/10 highly recommend.

I’m a total fine of Captain’s Choice Marine in Bellaire. I had a fuel problem with my 40 hp Tohatsu and a bilge problem on our boat. Taylor took my call and told me to bring it by, and she listened closely to my concerns. The next day Tyler called me said that it was fixed that I could come and pick it up. He took the time to review the particulars and how he addressed them. You don’t get this kind of customer service by most organizations. This treatment of customers is a hallmark of this family-run business, and they are proud of it - as well they should be. The next time I have a problem with our boat, I’m going to Captain’s Choice. I had some concerns about my repair, but Don dealt with me in a forthright, fair and courteous manner. Problem was resolved and I would highly recommend Captains Choice for outboard service.
