The Lakeview Hotel at Shanty Creek Resort

Great service, friendly staff and good accommodations. We stayed one night for a work event, no complaints!

Booked a room for two nights to take a ski trip with my siblings. This was probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Rooms were decently priced and clean, with tons of amenities available on site including a fitness center and both indoor and outdoor pools. The blankets weren't terribly heavy, but since we had an in room thermostat it wasn't an issue. There's a buffet in the lobby you can purchase passes to, though it's a bit pricey-the dinner buffet was $40 per adult, and I didn't eat there so I can't say anything about the menu. There's a coffee bar in the lobby too, so you can buy a cup in the morning if you're not a fan of the room coffee maker. The skiing was a ton of fun, but they could definitely benefit from either clearer signage or better communication from employees.

We stopped at the bar after skiing. It's a short drive from Schuss Mountain.
We were impressed by how friendly the staff was.
We were told that while sitting at the bar you overlook Lake Charleviox. It was dark when we arrived so we couldn't see the lake.
There are 2 large fireplaces.

They have several specialty drinks on the menu & Upper hand Light on tap. The Hot buttered rum is delicious!

Staff is friendly, and extremely helpful. The room was beautiful! We had a jacuzzi suite, and it was worth every penny!
Can't wait to book our next golf getaway to shanty creek, and will absolutely stay at lakeview again!

Very reasonably priced, laid back, friendly…while it’s not a 5 star resort, it is an extremely good value for the money and very family friendly. I’ve gone to Boyne many times and would take Shanty creek and LakeView hotel all day long over Boyne, which is overpriced and poor service. The front desk and coffee shop personnel are pleasant and friendly. The shuttle driver Al, is the best, and the entertainment on that shuttle bus that he provided was hands down our best experience. It made our trip. Take that shuttle even if you have no where to go. Seriously, you will laugh so hard, he is a trip

My dad and I come here every year. It is an amazing place. Nice amenities and clean. 7 golf courses within 15 mins (5 within 5 mins) and a nice spa. They put a coffee shop with Starbucks brand coffee in the lobby which is a tasty place. Great views and nice places to relax. The dairy twist in town is VERY GOOD and has a lot of food options.

Our bottom floor suite with hot tub in room was gorgeously decorated and offered plenty of ambiance! Excellent scenery and beautiful sunsets were enjoyed just outside our patio door! Extremely comfortable bedding with plenty of pillows. Beautiful updated bathroom with a separate room toilet and newer glass paneled shower offered convenience. All the staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous! Can't wait to go again!

We had a great time during our 2 day/1 night stay. The staff, playground and grounds were excellent! When we first checked in, there room next to us had a few younger folks partying, listening to loud music and smoking on the deck/balcony. This is all fine, and it was during the daytime but I thought it might be a problem with my little girls going to bed around 8pm. I called reception and Winnie kindly switched us to a different room, and it was perfect. Can’t tell you how much we appreciated the swap, and it made us feel valued at the place. Plus, I didn’t want to be a hassle to the folks next door that had every right to chill and party until the normal quiet hours, though the smoking would have become too much for us.

5 stars for this place, and the best endorsement I can give: I’ll be back.

We skied here for a recent JDT race. The terrain was great for racing and it didn’t seemed to be to crowded on the weekends. It’s was really nice to have a dictated race hill. Nice place, the only thing that slows me down from going more is it seems to close early every season.

Hands down a great hotel with an amazing front desk lady. After the massive wind storm that knocked power to pretty much everyone. We were welcomed immediately. If you are in the area this is the best hotel per dollar. Not just for the room but for the friendly staff. 12-16-21 7:10pm. She needs a raise fyi.

I was here with my wife. She was attending a conference for township planning commissioners. The room was comfortable, with a good view the lake in the valley.
The nearby town has a restaurant we like, Shorts Brewery. The free shuttle to town and back is a nice option.
A lovely cool Summer breeze the entire time we were there.

This is our favorite ski resort in Michigan. It is family friendly, has multiple lodging options, restaurants, and a shuttle that will take you anywhere in the resort.

Sometimes onion soup can be bland. Not theirs. It was very good. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The food was out quick.

We love going here; early Winter was our 2nd time. The rooms are affordable, and clean and the amenities are great. It is not a 5 star hotel - if you keep that in mind, you will be sure to enjoy your stay. You have to visit the the outdoor and indoor pools. My daughter enjoyed the tubing immensely and skiing here is such a pleasant experience. As soon as I graduate from the bunny hill, I am certain I would have way more fun. Dinner at the main restaurant was decent, again, please don't expect gourmet food. The ski rentals were affordable as well. Overall, this was a wonderful experience.

Beautiful area. Room very clean, looked recently remodeled, nice shower. Quiet room, except it was next to an entry door that you could hear people coming in and out from, #330. Enjoyed the pool, clean and warm, looks out into nature. Gym was awesome, like a mini-YMCA, with sauna, whirlpool, weights, great exercise machines. Facility was clean, and staff available too.
One odd thing. When you check in they add to your deposit with your credit card about $50, then take it off when you check out. They ask your permission to do this, but I was caught off guard and said ok. They give you this resort debit card to use as cash in the resort for incidentals...kinda strange, but if you golf or ski there guess it would be helpful.
Facility has some wear, but always very very clean. Staff is serious at the front desk, but everyone else very friendly and helpful.
Oh, and pay attention to the map they give you. Very easy to get lost when returning to resort at night. They have a nice shuttle I wish I had taken to town and back. Yes, we got lost.
So, we would return, just didn't fit in a 100% as we were neither retired, golfers or attending a conference there.

Beautiful Northern Michigan resort. I stayed there for a conference overnight for 3 days. The food was excellent, the staff very attentive, the rooms clean, and the location amazing. Fall colors were peaking and the view of the lake was not to be missed. I would come back for a family vacation in an instant!

Wonderful hotel. We visited Torch Lake, which was beautiful! We stayed here and all of the sights were gorgeous. The staff was super friendly. There is a sitting area with playground out. There is a pool on the outside, but we didn't go to that, although the photos I'm providing are of the lake and of the view from the cafe. There is an elevator to help you avoid steps and it is located on the outside of the facility as the check in floor is located up steps. There is a back deck that overlooks the lake (we didn't stay on that side). There are dividers for minimal privacy as well.

This place is truly a hidden gem! The facilities are clean, the staff are very accommodating. The skiing is fantastic! The nearby town, Bellaire, is quaint and had a couple great spots worth the 5 minute drive. Our room had a full kitchen enabling us to enjoy more time at the resort but with the option to dine out
