City Bus Burritos and Tacos

Great food & the only place I eat after leaving a concert at Cat's Cradle.

I go about every 10 days and it’s always amazing. They have the best carnitas tacos and all around the best value tacos in chapel hill! Also the owner is so nice and really cares about the customers!

One of the best burritos in a town with tons of competition - super fresh ingredients, plenty of options, and they do a great job with alterations / dietary restrictions. Make sure you get the hot sauce - they’ll warn you that it’s spicy and that’s no lie.

First time here last night after a concert at Cats Cradle, everything else was closed in that area for food. Service was nice and quick....but the food 😭was even better! I hate I live almost two hours away. I will be dreaming about that barbacoa quesadilla for the rest of the weekend. I can't wait to come back that way and try again.

Y’all ain’t even know how much money I’ve spent on the #5 breakfast burrito 🌯 at City Bus 🚎 (currently known as Taco King USA 🚌, until he gets his other bus fixed up). The location is in the parking lot right in front of Carolina Detail place.
Mac or Emilio, the owner of the bus handles the monetary transactions while his wife does the cooking. He sells a variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, drinks, etc.

I cannot talk enough about the #5 breakfast burrito which contains chorizo (Mexican sausage), bacon, eggs 🍳, rice 🍚, and beans. Get that green sauce too. Ughh. 🤤🤤

PS. He is consistently closed on Mondays, but is typically there everyday from 8PM-2AM (even though his hours state otherwise). He is sometimes closed on certain days when he has catering events, although there is no social media coverage when he’s not gonna be there 😡. I’m still addicted to his food though.

One of the best places for Hispanic food in the Chapelboro area in a taco truck format, a comfort late-night craving for so many residents of this area! Long live this place!

Nice people, good tacos. Looking forward to trying breakfast burrito now that I know it exists. Will update soon…

Update: I went back that same night for dinner and then the next day for lunch again. Got the #4 breakfast burrito the second time I went (the bacon one). Wasn’t as good as I expected it to be, probably should’ve gone with the #5 (the chorizo one). Tacos haven’t done me wrong yet. Will give breakfast burrito another chance someday.

Tacos are fantastic, and they are open really late. Benches, and a heater for customers as well.

Absolutely delicious Chapel Hill taco truck perfect for late-night eats. The prices are amazing and everything I've tried from this taco truck is phenomenal. I'd definitely recommend any of the many taco offerings (pastor and carnitas are my fav) as well as a papusa or two.

as a foodie, the best taco place on franklin. classic street tacos no frills done well. I got the beef tongue, carnitas, and chicarron tacos and they were all good, though the amount of meat given was on the low side. the salsas are legit. what really made it was the bean soup(free w 3 tacos) which was filled with chicarrones, hot dog, and tomato. comforting in this cold weather and super homestyle.

I've been a consistent customer since Macareno first came down to NC shortly after I first moved to Chapel Hill for grad school in 2013. There is nothing more comforting than these tacos. I always get random assortments of barbacoa, choriqueso, al pastor, and carnitas. Mix up both red and green sauces with some limes that he gives you and enjoy. Protip: Sometimes he has pickled jalapenos, and carrots. You should try them.

Popped in at advertised start to nobody bein there, but all my late night visits have been fire.

The breakfast burritos and the pupusas are 🔥. One of the only taco trucks in the area that is listen on Google maps so you can always check if they're out.

This bus by far has the best tacos and burritos in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Area. Guy is also super friendly and the food is always fresh.

Choriqueso. Period. Get three. Not two. Lots of green sauce. A little red sauce. 100.0 sanitation grade best in the city.

Papusas, tortas, gorditas, sopes, and tacos. This isn't Taco Bell. Order adventurously and you will be rewarded accordingly.
