Twisted Rolls Chimney Cake

What a novel concept for people of St Louis. The chimney cakes are absolute delish. The cake is baked in the shape of a hollow cylinder and is served warm where the steam rising from the cake resembles a hot chimney. It's a Hungarian concept that is apparently very famous when it comes to their street food and carnivals.

We got the Pistachio Chimney Cake. The cake was made from a sweet yeast dough that was rolled into a long rope and baked around a cylinder. The original is coated in melted butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and when you pick the flavor of your choice you get that mixed with the cake. The pistachio is very decadent and initially you'd be munching on your ice cream, but if you break it up you can swirl it with the ice cream and the baked dough. Pretty incredible. Me and my husband definitely relished it. We'd be back to try out the pancakes and waffles.

Had heard about this place from a coworker and decided to check it out on Mother's Day. I ordered the Lotus chimney cake, my husband a fruit pebbles milkshake and my kids had scoops of Superman ice cream in a cup. The chimney cake is interesting. As others described, its a conical dough that they then cover with your topping and then put ice cream inside of it. The dough is made after you order so it's warm which kind of conflicts with cold ice cream so it was a bit messy to eat (they do provide gloves, haha) so I ate my ice cream first then attacked the chimney cake. Lotus is Biscoff cookie flavored. My kids loved their ice cream and while mine was good I'm not sure I'd order it again, because of the messiness level. I 100% definitely would return to try the crepes. The staff was very kind, patient, and helpful.

A new favorite for me… I enjoy coming here where the atmosphere is sweet and families eat yummy treats together. My husband and I have tried 3 different flavors of chimney cakes here and love them! The crepes look great too! Update: tried a milkshake and WOW, those are really good too!! 5/5 starts for sure.

What a fun treat! We got the classic, Oreo, hazelnut and flake chimney cakes and a chocolate & strawberry crepe. Seriously, so good. The classic is a cinnamon sugar pastry that is the perfect complement to soft serve ice cream. We’ll be back!

I ordered the lotus, and it was absolutely fantastic! It was warm throughout, and the vanilla, soft serve with the perfect compliment to it. We waited about 10 minutes for my lotus to cook, it was freshly made on spot. My husband ordered the cheesecake shake and really enjoyed it! We will certainly be back.

definitely a must try! we each got a cone and they were really tasty! not too sweet! staff were really nice! i will say that be prepared to eat quickly as they melt really fast and the roll part is super super hot and it melts the ice cream quick! and grab the provided gloves it is much easier!

Tried Chimney cake for the first time at this new spot in Saint Louis, and it’s an instant fave!! The dough is so yummy, the ice cream and the flavors are amazing. The overall food quality is top-notch. Highly recommended to everyone. Such a great place, and fantastic atmosphere.

IMPECCABLE SERVICE, AND EVEN BETTER PRODUCTS! the lotus chimney cake, was stuffed with twisted chocolate and vanilla ice cream. It was beyond tasty.
The patience of the staff was a breath of fresh air.

Stopped by here randomly with my daughter. We shared the Oreo chimney cake and loved it! The dough was flaky and a perfect combo with the soft serve. We will definitely be going back!

I am a person who doesn't like ice creams and sweets in general but this place is very different. The mix between the warm and cold is great. I had the pistachio topings, and this was phenomenal 😋😋😋

I will definitely visit this place when I am in St. Louis next time.

Owner was amazing, offered my 2 year old a free scoop of ice cream and refused a tip (naturally will be double tip when I absolutely come back) chimney cake I’ve never had and was cooked to order and was delicious. You don’t see a lot of places making this quality of crepes around, with so many good flavors and toppings. I can imagine the waffles and pancakes and other items are high quality as well. Will have to try next time! Give this place your business you won’t regret it

Amazing! It takes a little while but it is very worth it to get the twisted cakes. I'm sure everything else is spectacular as well but we thoroughly enjoyed our ice cream. Way better experience than going to a normal ice cream place. We're definitely going to come back and try the crepes.

I've been wanting to try this place, and we finally were able to. Oh my goodness! It was as delicious as I hoped it would be. It's clearly a family run small business, which makes it even more special. If you are looking for a little sweet and want to support a local small business this is it. We will most certainly be back.

OMG 😱 I am so amazed of what I tried today I have tried twisted chimney roll that I have never tried before highly recommended. I love the texture I love the taste it’s so sweet you can get it in several different flavors, hot and cold at the same time you’d be amazed of the way they do it, I recommend everybody to go try 😇😇😇😇🤤🤤

I stumbled upon Twisted Roll Chimney Cake and since it's practically in my neighborhood, I couldn't resist checking it out the very next day. These guys are all about their Chimney Cakes (or Kürtőskalács), a unique treat hailing from Hungary and Romania – it's like this awesome cake-shaped spiral filled with deliciousness.

So, I brought my 11 and 9-year-old kiddos along. The guy who welcomed us, turns out he's the owner, was super friendly and gave us the lowdown on their offerings and their origins. They had quite the variety, which took us a hot minute to decide on. In the end, we settled on an Oreo cone and a classic cake.

The cool thing is, everything is made fresh to order. You can actually watch them craft and bake these goodies, customizing them with your choice of toppings. The Oreo cone was a hit with our choice of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate, and a whole Oreo on top. The kids were over the moon with it. And here's the kicker – that cone had a hidden surprise inside: chocolate chip cookie goodness. Talk about delightful!

Now, let's talk cake. It came with not one, but two dips: white chocolate and Nutella. And let me tell you, the cake was on point. The combination of that dough with the crispy toppings was a flavor explosion. We're definitely planning a comeback to try out their waffles, mini pancakes, and crepes – they've got us hooked!
Highly recommended and it’s a crowd pleaser.
