El Coyote New Mexican Bar & Cantina

Brunch was great. The server had a great attitude. He was friendly and entertaining and attentive. The atmosphere is really cozy with the fireplace in the bar area. Very well done.
The brunch food is fantastic and definitely led me to want to try the regular menu. The only critique was that I ordered my eggs over easy, but they came out over hard, but the rest was so good, I hardly noticed. I did have dessert as well, just because they had key lime pie, and I usually try it anytime someone has it to offer.
It was pretty good. In all honesty, kind of "middle of the road" for me, but I would definitely try the other desserts.

Me and my husband decided to try out this restaurant on a whim and honestly we wish we had visited sooner!!
Though they were busy, the wait time was very little, and we were sat down in a very nice, ambient area.
We ordered the dip trio, plus we both selected the stacked enchilada platter, mine with chicken verde, and his with the carne adovada.
The salsa was smoky, and so good and the chips were nicely salted and crunchy. The guacamole was creamy and refreshing.
Honestly, the green chile queso might be the best queso I've had! It was amazing!!!
Then the entree arrived, and wow. Just wow. The meats fell apart in our mouths, and had just the right amount of spice.
We also decided to order the key lime pie which was super sweet and had this gooey caramel drizzle on top!!
We literally felt bad having to take food to go, we wished we could have ate it all while it was fresh, but it was super filling.
The staff was super nice and attentive!! They were very polite and even offered us chips and salsa to go!!
We will definitely be returning, and it's made its way up our list to one of the top spots in OKC!

Excellent service - our server (Kennedy, I think) was friendly and helpful. She struck the perfect balance between waiting on us and giving us time to enjoy our meal.

The food was outstanding. Chips and salsa are complimentary, but we ordered the trio so we could try some other things. We also ordered the green chile burger and the stacked enchiladas. Everything was fantastic! This is one of my best dining experiences I've had in the past few months.

I loved the decor, too.

This place is great if you are looking for a date night that is special but not pretentious.

First time I went and we sat outside. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Our waitress was very polite and informed us on her favorites. Definitely going back.

I have now tried the stacked enchiladas, burrito, and quesadilla. All of the menu items I have tried have been delicious and savory. Their frozen margarita’s are phenomenal as well and not overly sweet which is SO appreciated. With that said, if you are looking for your standard Okie-fied Tex mex spot and gravitate towards places like Mama Roja, Abuelo’s etc; this is not comparable nor do they claim to be. This is New Mexico style cuisine and it is wonderful. And a great opportunity for you to try something new and of quality. Oklahoma’s tastes and restaurant offerings have excitingly evolved. When trying this restaurant keep an open mind AND palette as you select your meal option and adventure into new delectable flavors. I think you will be divinely surprised. We have had great service, as well as the vibe and ambiance are cozy. Enjoy!🍴

Great service and the second best Mexican food I have ever had close behind Topolobampa in Chicago.

The stacked enchiladas were fantastic and my daughter loved her Birria taco.

Top five place in OKC, will be adding this to the regular rotation. Starting off with atmosphere, would highlyyyy recommend sitting on the patio on a pretty afternoon or evening, on certain nights there is even live music! Service was exception, five stars here. The food, my goodness, six out of five stars on this matter. The queso was some of the best in the city, SEASONED chips, very fine textured salsa. Drinks were all wonderful, would highly recommend the Cactus Lemonade. Keep up the great work El Coyote!

The bar is taco and the enchilada platter are truly really really good. We loved the queso and the house salsa. I got the adavada steak and it was good but I will get the e Childs’s dinner next time,

Had the Birria Tacos. Also, guacamole and salsa. Super good. The tacos had something like a crispy roast beef taste! Mmmm! Great Margarita, too.

Service was supreme! Atmosphere authentic! The food was delicious and the presentation was well thought out. This food is more from the New Mexico Mexican Cuisine. We had an excellent evening experience.

It's the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family, especially on a sunny day.

Absolutely fantastic!! First the atmosphere is beautiful! Second the service is outstanding, we sat at the bar top and our bartender even though she was busy was so attentive and helpful. Third the food was exceptional, we tried the dip trio, quesadilla, and the stacked enchiladas all three where out of this world. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu! There was a pretty long wait the evening we went but it was well worth waiting.

Delicious! Really good salsa and entree. I had the Chile Relleno and I loved that it wasn’t heavily breaded. So much flavor. I also love the atmosphere, it’s a beautiful building and patio.

I would honestly give 4.5 stars if I could because the service wasn’t great, but giving them the benefit of the doubt since it just opened and I’m sure the staff are adjusting.

Such a unique place in OKC - there isn’t another place to compare it to. New Mexican inspired plates, and a great happy hour menu makes this a place you want to try. The Margarita la Casa comes with tajin instead of salt on the rim and it is the perfect flavor, and it never got watery. The dip trio is great, but if you only pick one dipping option, their guacamole is hands down the best. For taco options, the shredded beef has radishes on it which is surprising but works really well with the red chile hot sauce. One thing to be aware of regarding the layout of the restaurant is that it can be tight quarters between some of tables. While I didn’t order a dessert, it was clear to see that a favorite was the sopapilla sundae because almost every table I was next to ordered it. It looked like a dream - definitely on my list for the next visit!

Being raised in the Rocky Mountain region O grew up with Nee Mexican style cuisine. It’s been a minute since I have had the pleasure of indulging but El Coyote definitely tucked at some old memories.
I had the stuffed sopapilla. With pork. It was delicious.
The hominy as a side instead of rice—beautiful. There beans have something in them that is almost floral. Delicious to say the least.
The service at lunch is as great and the food came out quickly.

Enjoyed dinner last night. Stacked Enchilada Plate, Adovada Steak, Green Chile Double Cheeseburger, and Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake. All was great!!! 😎
