Butcher's Sew Shop

We love having the Sew Shop in our Bella Vista neighborhood. They offer excellent after-school and summer youth camp sewing programs. There are also evening adult sessions. Great to see men and women designing and sewing there.Everyone looks happy and engaged when we walk by. We wish them continued success.

Instructors are friendly and nice. I enjoyed taking sewing 101 so much I signed up for more classes.

I've taken a number of beginner sewing classes. The instructors hate patient, enthusiastic, and informative. It's great to walk out with a finished item. Highly recommend.

My bf and I took a sashiko class here and it was so fun! It was our first time ever sewing so I was nervous but the instructors, Cat and Emily, were amazing!

I’ve taken two classes here (with no prior sewing experience) and loved them both! 101 was a great introduction to the basics. 201 (jacket making) was definitely a stretch for my abilities but Emily was an amazing instructor and so patient with me! I can’t wait to take a class with her again!

I took a jean workshop with Butcher’s and had a great experience! I was intimidated to make my own jeans, but Mali was great, clear and patient, she walked me though the whole process. I highly recommend taking a class here!

It's about time I wrote this review! I cannot say enough good things about Butcher's. I took my first class here in June 2022. I immediately fell in love with sewing and I have to attribute most of that love to this studio. I have mostly taken classes with Emily and Cat- two of the most wonderful human beings and patient teachers I have met. Butcher's fosters an incredibly welcome and encouraging atmosphere. I have always felt comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I recommend them blindly, and I look forward to taking more classes.

I love Butcher’s!! Sewing 101 exceeded my expectations. The classes were informative and fun, and I felt welcomed by the instructor. I also love their Instagram, always posting cool sewing videos. I can’t wait to sign up for Sewing 201 :-)

I just completed Sewing 101 and Mali was my instructor. Over the 4 week course we learned how to make a tote, a mask and a zippered pouch! It was my first time touching a sewing machine or even attempting any projects and it’s safe to say - I feel comfortable enough to start my own crafts at home. Mali was very helpful, informative and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. I will definitely be taking more classes with Butcher’s Sew Shop!

I had a great time time taking sewing 101 at Butchers sew shop. I made a beautiful bag that I continue to get compliments on! Also took the embroidery class and made a lot of fun projects to share with family and friends.

Had my first Sewing 101 class today. I haven’t sewed once in my life and I thought it was great. In one class I learned enough to make a lil bag and understand sewing machines enough figure out how to work my Grandma’s ancient Touch-tronic 2001. Glad I did it and looking forward to next week!

My 7 year old son asked to attend their camp. He learned about it thru school. I decided to humor him. The price was right and the camp fit our schedule. However, to be honest I did worry that it was going to be a complete disaster. My son is extremely physical and sewing camp seemed like a pretty docile activity. Turns out, this was the best camp ever. The staff are magical. They are extremely good with children and kept my son completely engaged. The teaching quality is top notch. My son came home with completed projects that were impressive by any standard. The photo below is what my son created in 2 days. He made the curtains, puppet and everything. Who knew? This place has totally blown me away.

I love this place!! I drive from Harrisburg for classes because I enjoy it so much! Great teaching, stylish and accessible patterns, and an all around inspiring atmosphere! Both locations have a great aesthetic too. Nice work!

Amazing instructors. Kind, patient, and great sense of humor. They supply every tool that you need (Just need fabric, notions, pattern).

Mali and her team make sure everyone in the Butcher classes have a great time while learning all sorts of sewing skills.
