Garden Center at The Home Depot

The Rockaway Home Depot location is great. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I often do in-store pick-up here. For large items, they always have it waiting behind the counter, in a shopping cart for me, ready to roll out to my car. They have great prices on holiday and seasonal decor. The Rockaway location also has a large, well-stocked garden center. Prices are competitive and they stand behind their one year guarantee on plants. The self-checkout kiosks are easy to use and cut down on any lines that may form at the regular checkout during busy hours.

Martin in building materials was especially helpful showing good initative in getting some plastic roofing cut so we could fit it in our car. Kenny is manager facilitated the cutting with a phone call. Ourcheck out by Maria in garden went without a hitch. Really several employees besides the ones named were helpful to us. We were very pleased by the level of service and will definitely come back!

Garden department answers your questions as expected, with helpful information

I mostly go there for indoor plants. The plants I get there usually survive and are pretty cheap. There's a 90 day return policy which is great for plants.For everything else, prices seem high.

Great place. Summer plants are being replaced with fall shrubs and plants. So hurry in for those last minute summer plant buys

I went to get some supplies for landscaping, most of which must be kept in the parking lot due to the limited space in the garden center. I was able to get what I needed and check-out in about 20 minutes thanks to my preparedness. If you are unsure of what you need and plan on browsing the racks, then get ready to fight the crowds and wander for 1+ hours. On the other hand, the staff is very helpful.

The people that work there were not helpful at all each person told me to go down different lanes and the item I was looking I could not find so service at rockaway location was bad. 1 person she work in paint dept and she told me to get what I was looking for and she was right.
