What a great pub in Matthew’s. Just what we needed. Walk in and you feel like you’ve been transported to an Irish pub with Irish hospitality. The owners are both from Ireland and give excellent service. Very personable. Great selection of Irish whiskeys, scotches and bourbons. Even some from Japan. Love the big beer garden in the front. Very comfortable bar counter and we made new friends. Love that it’s not covered in TVs. 2 TVs behind the bar only. Great walk up window for drinks when you’re outside. Really nice patio furniture. Great prices on drinks too considering every place is Matthew’s keeps getting a lot of expensive. Haven’t had the food yet but the couple next to us said they’re the best burgers in Matthew’s hands down. Will eat them next time and update review.

Best Irish pub this side if Dublin, a town I know well.

Guinness, poured easy and slow, accompanied with deluge of CRAIC - that's good natured irreverent humor, fast-witted, with rappid fire response expected, IF you can keep up!

Food trucks nearby offer goodly fare, abundant outdoor seating when kinda small indoor bar overflows with cheery patrons.

I stopped by MSH after my Sunday league soccer game … we took a 6-0 beating, but man did this place fix me right up. Beers were ice cold. Food was incredible - one of the best pub burgers that I have EVER had in my life. Wow - just WOW. And the fries were also amazing! Riley and Jacko behind the bar were stellar! This place is a great addition to the area. Do yourself a favor and go check them out. -Marco

The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is extremely friendly and "Social" and the ambience takes you away and makes you feel like you’re hanging in a local pub in Ireland 🇮🇪. Oh…and did I mention the expansive Beer Garden with tables, fire-pits, games, entertainment, and food (The Social Burger) & ice-cream…

We love supporting small businesses and Matthew's Social House is definitely worth the business! It's the only place we've found that has Magner's Irish Cider on draft, as well as other Irish classics. We've met both of the owners and they're welcoming and chill. There are also games available and a pool table.

They have the Peacock Channel, for those looking to watch a game on that channel in the Matthews area...I must've called like 20 different bars in the Matthews area and none of them had it. Additionally, they have a pool table and a great outdoor lounging area with picnic tables, heaters and cornhole boards. They also close much later than most bars around Matthews, even on the weekdays at 2AM. I highly recommend this place for the hard to find Peacock Channel sports games and evening leisure.

I've only been here a few times but each of those times was a great experience. Outstanding burgers and the fries... the amazing fries... I ordered 3 portions off their food truck🤣.

Great friendly service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to grab lunch, a drink, or even sit outside for a meeting. Be sure to ask about the Irish bacon fries!

This place is awesome! I live in downtown Matthews and love seeing new places open and hate it when they suck. This place is a welcomed addition to Matthews ( obviously my opinion). Just a side note the burgers are delicious and the buns are somehow shipped in from Spain (found this out when I asked the owner about them because it made the burger). And yes, the owner took the time to answer my silly question even though it was busy.

Finally found a real good burger in the area. Gary is a great lad , you can find him behind the bar. The Hawaiian burger is cook to perfection on their spanish bun 😋. Will definitely be coming back more often

My fiancé and I came to MSH a few weeks back when we were visiting Matthews as a potential location to buy a house. This pub alone is one of the most significant reasons we will be looking to buy in Matthews. The owner Gary firstly, pours a fantastic pint of Guinness. But more importantly, is so kind and personable. He found out we were looking to buy a house and talked to us at length about the town, the pub, and what it's like to live there. Gary's kindness is evident throughout the entire bar, as everyone at the bar found out we were looking to move to Matthews and also welcomed us and answered any questions. The other people at the bar refused to let us pay for our drinks during our visit. I have spent a lot of time on the road for work and moved multiple times, this is one of the best atmosphere bars I've ever been to. Just like when I spent time in Ireland. Looking forward to being a local here!

Fun, lay back atmosphere! A lot of outdoor seating and a great outdoor space.

A big outside area. Plenty of seating and tables. Some swinging benches on one side. A collection of ice-creams offered at a window. A nice horseshoe shaped bar inside the venue. A good selection of liquor, beer, and cider on tap and shelves. A pool table with fresh felt in the adjacent room. A food truck with burgers and loaded-fries offers convenient service via the bar tenders and menus inside the bar. All nestled behind Carolina Beer Temple. This new business is one of the few places open until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. It is spacious enough to serve your whole crew. The bartenders - such as the sociable Missy and the Irish gentleman (blanking on name) whom used to work at nearby O'Malley's - are friendly and professional. Lots of laughter and socializing when I was there from 11pm-12am in the evening. I bet parents and kids would really enjoy the outside area during the day (especially with The Local Scoop ice cream being there.) Enjoy the offerings of Downtown Matthews!

Great location with a very friendly staff. The prices were very reasonable and food was good too.

I was passing through the area and the appearance of this place caught my attention. Once I walked through the door, I was greeted by the bartender and engaged in small talk. Next thing you know, I had spent 3 hours there and I think I befriended everyone in that place! 🤣

If you’re passing through Matthew’s, you have to stop and experience this gem of a place.

I absolutely love this place! What a fantastic addition to Matthews. The people, the beverages, the atmosphere, the burger truck…it’s all GREAT! Best service you could ever ask for, too. Gary is the BEST! This is definitely my new spot in town.

Great new bar in the heart of Matthews. Open late, great atmosphere, indoor/outdoor seating, corn hole, pool, games. Burgers and fries available. Friendly and fun!

Neat little spot! Pool tables, ample outdoor seating with picnic tables and shade. Limited food options, but it was good, great whiskey selection
