Honey Hut Ice Cream

Here of lately after having a good dinner, been craving a good ice cream. Didn't go wrong going here, drove past several times and was always busy. Little did I know but the 46th President stop here last year for a cone.

This is one of the first places I take out-of-towners. You cannot go wrong with Honey Hut -- it's the most affordable, tasty, and quintessential ice cream in Cleveland. Their seasonal flavors are a delight, but I almost always come back to chocolate chocolate-chip.

Honey Hut is almost always busy and that's because their ice cream is the bomb. They have different flavors throughout the year so it's a good idea to check out website before going. Their banana split is better than Dairy Queen. My two favorite sundaes are Tin Roof and Almond Joy (coconut ice cream). On both they give you plenty of nuts. Worth the trip and multiple locations.

I remember this place from when I was a child. It’s been over 40 years and still delicious! Had the sweet pleasure of bringing my husband and adult son to enjoy their first taste of Honey Hut ice cream while we were visiting from Virginia. We didn’t let the cold, wet weather deter us 😉

Their chocolate malt with extra malt is my favorite thing to get. I have tried malts at numerous other ice cream places and no one comes close to Honey Hut. They have an amazing selection of ice creams as well.

What can I say, it's an ice cream institution here. Amazing hand made ice cream with unique flavors next to traditional ones, generous scoops, freshly made toppings, fast service, and good price. It's exactly what's needed for a neighborhood ice cream shop. Definitely worth visiting if not becoming a regular. There's a reason it's been around for 45 years.

July 2021: This place is highly recommended by many people. Even President Joe Biden, visited the Honey Hut to sample their famous ice cream. I ordered the honey pecan malt and was satisfied. Overall, this place lives up to the hype 👍🏽👍🏽

Pros:
* Clean shop, spacious area for the staff to move without bumping into each other.
* Fame. Many people know about this place already.
* Super cool logo and bee mascot.
* If you like chocolate flavored ice cream, then is the best place to get it...hands down like 6:30. They have a wide variety of chocolate (even some coffee, a cayenne chocolate, etc.) flavors to choose from.
* Delicious hand scooped ice cream.

Cons:
* It is always busy so be prepared to wait. Sometimes you have to wait for good things.
* Parking can be an issue during peak times.
* Flavors switch up regularly. The batch of premium flavors may not last long and will be replaced by another premium flavor. This is a good/bad thing because they have some really unique flavors.

Late August 2021:
I've visited Honey Hut a few times now. I've found that it is not as busy if I go around 1 - 1:30pm. The Orange Blossom and Blueberry Crumble flavors are very good. The Honey Pecan is good, but the sweet ice cream and slightly salty pecans throw me off a bit. One thing that impressed me was that they squeegee'd their picnic tables after a morning rain storm so that I had dry place to sit and enjoy. I have changed my rating from 4/5 to 5/5 stars.

March 2022: The Land (Cleveland) had a warm day (upper 60s degF during sunup) and everyone and their brother was out there. My favorite flavors from them are the Orange Blossom and the Honey Graham. I will say that the Honey Hut does not skimp out on the nuts in their Honey pecan and pistachio flavored ice creams. They will probably remain a 5/5 ⭐ for the unforeseeable future.

One of the best ice cream shops in America, I don't agree with the president on a lot but we both agree Honey Hut is great

I'm not the biggest ice cream fun but these ice creams are absolutely delicious! Totally would recommend raspberry vegan one, cookies&cream and honey pecan ones. It explains why even at 9:30pm there's a line to try this amazing treat! Plus, prices are extremely friendly and way cheaper then at big brands. 💯% recommend!!!

First time there. Had a taste for ice cream. A regular vanilla cone was delicious. I like it better than dairy queen's vanilla 😄
This review is edited. I visited this place again on the fourth of July.

Well I heard all fuss about Honey Hut Ice cream so stopped on way back to East side with dad.
I got single chocolate with some hot fudge.
He got banana split sundae.
He ate whole thing with a smile.
I will say I enjoyed rich creaminess of ice cream the ingredients shine making end result not only flavorful and creamy but rich and decatant.
A must try next I'm over by Parma.
Dad loved his. Sundae can you not tell!!!

A delicious way to cap off a perfect, BIG fun evening of Ebike riding along Lake Erie with amazing visual and sensory delights on Whiskey Island and Wendy Park!

This place is amazing, they have daily flavors and from my understand stay open later in the season. I've heard stories of their key lime pie and pumpkin spice ice creams.

So far I've had their turtle pie and peanut butter cup sundaes and they are both incredible. They don't slouch on the portions either. I have tried to conquer a large twice now and have to be fully successful.

I highly recommend them for any one with a sweet tooth. So all of you eating this lol

It Was our first time there this season I had a special flavor blueberry crumble and my son had banana his favorite I don't like being charged extra to order online but it's kinda worth it instead of waiting in the long line

Honey Hut is the original, iconic neighborhood ice cream shop. Our location, on State Rd, was the first to open, and it's been a favorite for years. Love the atmosphere, love the ice cream, and love the fact that they're open year 'round now.
