We decided to make a quick detour on our way back to Austin from Frisco. Luckily we chose Cleburne State Park as that detour! We purchased a day pass. The park was very well kept and beautiful. Calm and definitely not overcrowded. With spring break coming to an end we were afraid with beautiful weather it was going to be packed. Much to our surprise it was a beautiful little getaway. We chose to rent some kayaks and hangout by the playscape area to let the kids run off some energy and enjoy the water. We will definitely be back for a full weekend of camping and hiking!

We needed to relax and do what we wanted with the best dog in the world ❣ Duke is a 12year old Yellow Lab that has a heart of gold. He is so sweet, curious and friendly. Everyone in our camp area was responsible with their pet babies. Keep them leashed. The 2 volunteers that where cleaning restrooms and picking up wood chips by the beach were always an enjoyable encounter. Very hard workers with a smile.

I drove out here on my day off to check it out and take a hike down the trails. The trails are mostly maintained, though some have washed away and eroded to somewhat treacherous climbing in spots on the two trails (pink and yellow) over by the spillway. The green trail and the dark purple trail by the entrance/restrooms is my favorite of the day to hike and I'll be taking them again next time. I found a cool walking stick and saw some wildflowers starting to bloom as well. I'll be back further into the spring and early summer to see the wildflowers and picnic further into the park. I had a good time and looked forward to returning.

Cleburne State Park was convenient to stay at for visiting Fort Worth. It's a steep, curvy road up to the campgrounds, but campsites were level. Cedar Grove site 10 was nice. It's a short hike over a little bridge to the bathrooms. The bathrooms are heated with hot water but need some serious cleaning. Zero AT&T cell service and little antenna reception. Saw deer and nice foliage color in December. Hikes were fun and well marked.

Cleburne State Park is absolutely gorgeous! The trails are fun and have different levels of difficulty. We walked the trail that led to the waterfall that was hand carved in the 1930s. The camping spots include tent camping, RVs, screened in cabins, and cabins for large groups. There's a playground for the kids to play on as well as a little store to get some convenience items you may need. You can rent kayaks, and there's life jackets for the kids to use in the lake.

Nice little park on our way home from Glen Rose. We collect various trinkets from all the state parks we visit and I always search the Google reviews for what their selection looks like so for fellow patch/pin/etc enthusiasts I snapped these shots of their options. I felt like they were also the most reasonable price wise (thankfully, because the state park pass discount isn’t accepted there) happy hiking

First time visit. Went on a weekday so no crowds. Lots of great hiking trails. Be prepared and pre download maps and your favorite GPS ap. Most of the trails are well marked but there are a lot of “extra” trails that aren’t mapped, so know where you are going. We did the Spillway trail and it was moderate with lots of up and down elevation changes and we were rewarded with beautiful views of the water cascading over the spillway. Park staff were friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. I highly recommend this Texas State Park!

Staff is welcoming at entrance . Park is full of trails and water body lake and water stream . Enough shelter , screen and A/c shelter there , camping and multiple RV sites . Park is scenic with hilly terrain and wild life sighting is normal with plenty of birds .kids play area is also big and clean . Best restroom facility you can find in park . Overall a good fun day , close to nature place . You all ,Must go , do trail and have fun .

I highly recommend this park. We live close by so to split away for a quiet night or two - this is the place to go. We got an air-conditioned cabin. It's pretty basic - bunks with bare mattresses but that ac was awesome. We took our 3 year old with us and walked the dam to the spillway & it was gorgeous. Flowers & butterflies were everywhere. Great place to see some stars! Will be back ASAP.

Great place for the kiddos to go hiking and learn outdoor skills. The 3 tier water fall is beautiful and easy to hike to. I recommend the lowest waterfall if you want to swim

We drove here from Palacios for the solar eclipse. It was worth every mile we drove. This place provides a great experience.

The primitive camping area was very clean and level, and the trails were clearly marked. Really enjoyed the waterfalls at the spillway. It appeared they are doing some improvements to the park but it didn't impede any activities.

Great campgrounds for families! The playground is in great condition! Clean restrooms and park overall. Lots of hiking options for all skill levels. Kayak rentals available next to the shoreline and firewood bundles for sale next to the restrooms if you forgot to bring your own. Some of the sites are too small for more than one tent (we stayed at 5), so check the map before you book a camp site.

Great park with wonderful staff! Came for the total eclipse! But the bluebonnets and paint brushes were out of this world!!

Very cute state park. The park road is a bit narrow and winding so use caution if you are in a larger RV, our 27 ft was able to navigate with no issues. We’ve been here in August and December and each were great in their own ways. The swimming area is nice and the trails are pretty great.

Stopped here on our way out of Dallas for a hike. Great trail options and plenty of restrooms around. The scenery is beautiful.

Trails were nice and easy to navigate, with varying levels of difficulty. The lake provided nice breeze, keeping us cool while hiking. Enjoying seeing few patches of bluebonnets, wildflowers and other signs of spring on the trail. The spillway was dry but still a beautiful sight to see. We hiked 50% of the trails there, due to time. Hope to come back and hike the other half.
