I used to come here during my college years around ‘98-‘00 and found great discoveries. The shop today looks exactly the same and kept the laser focus on comic books, to which I give kudos because lately shops like this carry way too many merch and toys and other noise that take up so much space.

Fat jacks comicrypt is super good place if you like comics action figures and cards! They have every thing you want as a comic collector! The store has every copy of everything in comics and pretty much everything else!

Lots of comics and good prices! Mostly newer releases and sorted alphabetically. I didn't see a cat, but definitely am going back for more!

These guys rock !!!!!!!!!!! I went in and couldn’t decide, so many great Comics to choose from! I decided on some classic ones I used to collect years ago the punisher war journals, they also have complete graphic novels and series to choose from.

A cool comic book shop with a great variety of Comics, from DC and Marvel to more vintage Star Wars and Star Trek. Great to visit if you want to discover new series.

One of the best hidden gems of center city. They have something for most any tastes or needs comic selection wise. I've been going here since around 2008. This is my go to shop if I'm looking for something obscure or just flat out not ordered by other local shops in the area. The prices are more then fair compared to the real market. Easily the most approachable shop in Philadelphia. Between the selection of back issues and knowledgeable staff you really can't go wrong.

This is my weekly LCS. Great friendly staff, a wide selection of trades and graphic novels and even some board games etc.

Awesome store that I just discovered. If you are looking for both new or old back issues this is the place. Probably the only comic book shop in history that doesn't mark up every single back issue by $5-15/each. They either have it at sticker price or a $0.50 markup. Love it.

If you’re in Philly or happen to be near Moore College of Art & Design, stop by Fat Jack’s. There is a lot to see and sift through that is definitely worth checking out. It’s spacious for good measure because the amount of comics ready to be looked over is astonishing. There should be no reason to not be excited to find that one or ten comics to be added to a collection. The quirkiness of this establishment is that it blends both modern and older comics together. This allows new comers and veterans to share a special experience of exposure and curiosity. What’s fun about here is that it doesn’t shy away from what people are looking for. How? Well, they have an adult section specifically labeled for adults only and keep it separated a good distance away from the kids section. The great aspect of this place is that there are labels that help navigate where you want to look into. If you’re not sure where to begin, a staff member will happily help you. Jack’s has a lot to offer and if interested you may find what you can’t find online.

The best comic book store (and oldest) in the Delaware Valley! Nice selection of comics both new and old, plus cool accessory items along with the greatest customer service one could ever ask for. Conveniently centered in Philly's ever-growing central business district, this little shop has the greatest merch in-stock and I highly recommend all pay this location a visit..!

A local institution and the storefront is literally iconic! I have gone to this store since I was 10,lol! 44 years later and they finally asked,"Who the hell are you?" #jk Great staff, good people, fair pricing and extremely knowledgeable about what's new and what's hot as well as back stock and the fantastic years of silver,golden,80's 90's etc! It has a very good selection of graphic novels and comic books, they have a discount shelf with books, and $1 old comics in boxes as well.

Best comic book store in Philly the store is really well laid out with a huge back selection of comics the staff are some of the kindest professionals with decades of knowledge & experience. Their prices are incredible on rare comics there so good there criminal. So if you love comics you should definitely check out Fat Jack's Comic Crypt in Philadelphia PA.

This is my favorite comic shop in Philadelphia! It is a great spot to go hunting for back issues to fill out your collection. They are well organized, packaged carefully and priced at fair market value. I always find what I go in search of and often a few gems I didn't even know I wanted.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but my favorite "employee" is this really cool cat that gives off the vibe like it is the one actually running things.

Before taking a recent trip to the Philadelphia area, I googled "Best Comic Book stores in Philadelphia" and this was the first place to pop up. The reviews left on here by other patrons doesn't justify the experience I had. This store had a very wide selection of back issues to go through and were reasonably priced. In the 45 minutes I spent in the store I seen one cat and it wasn't hefty at all. It wasn't hard to navigate through the store, but I did ask for help one time from a gentleman who was more then gladly to help and point me in the right direction. I ended up leaving with 7 books of stuff I couldn't find in my area, some of which I had been searching for awhile, and I even got a discount because my girlfriend had a birthday in the month of November. All in all, I had a great experience and will definitely be singing their praises when I get back home, and will definitely visit again when I'm back in the area.

This place is magic, it's been around since 1976. Their crypt of comics is astounding. I found (with the help of super cool staff) 3 treasures I had been looking for for years and years. I asked for a recommendation and was really blown away by a comic I had never heard of with beautiful art. I bought it on the spot. All in all really one of my favorite experiences at a comic store after 43 years of collecting!!!

Great comic book store all around. The managers are super nice and knowledgeable. Their selection is excellent!! The location is tough for parking. If you like hunting for comics this is the place to go.

Always has newest selection on Wednesdays. Very knowledgeable staff that will bend over backwards to help find the comic you need, and has provided good recommendations for me in the past. Note: Cats wander around store, so be mindful of you have allergies.
