Had a one day ski rental for the wife and I. We both had a great time, mostly because our set up was spot on. Boots fit perfectly, and the skis were well maintained. By far the best rental experience I’ve had! See y’all next time.

Awesome customer service!! Ordered a new bike which showed up with a chip in the paint (super well packaged, life happens) and called the shop after hours and left a message. Charlie called me the next day, was very apologetic, had already ordered touchup paint and frame protector sticker kit. Shipped both to me free of charge and included some nice water bottles!! Couldn't be happier with my purchase!!

I was looking for a Specialized Levo SL in a small, with the COVID supply chain issues it became a 6 month ordeal. Even being friends with a Specialized Rep did not help locate one and I was starting to give up. While on the Specialized site I found this shop had the bike I was hunting! I put in an email query and Parker called me almost immediately, confirmed he was looking at the bike I wanted. When I explained I lived in Texas and would need to make arrangements he said he was putting my name on it and to stay in touch about pick up. He was extremely helpful and we corresponded via email further about the details.

Two weeks later I had convinced my husband to take a road trip (it didn't take much convincing) and let Parker know. He told me he would not be in the shop but promised I would be taken care of. I called the day before and confirmed the bike was there. We came in and I was very impressed with the staff and also happy to see a friendly shop dog (hi Indy!). The manager took time to set up the bike properly, explain how the e-bike worked, and gave me suggestions on my first rides to make it safe. He also told us which trails to try.

While we were in they made some adjustments to my husband's Stumpjumper free of charge. We left and enjoyed a wonderful ride on the trail that was suggested. While I am not local, if I am in the area this will be my "local" bike shop. Listening to how they interacted with other customers in the store I could tell customer service is a priority. The whole staff made a 16 hour road trip worth it, we have been biking for 20+ years and this is one of the best shops we have been to.

Patrick was super helpful with trail ideas, he was also very thoughtful fitting our bikes. The bikes were in great condition. Highly recommend it!

This shop is awesome. They are super helpful and always look out for their customers. On one occasion last year, we were visiting and we forgot my wife's pedals. We were prepared to buy a set and they instead let us borrow a pair of Look pedals for free for the entire weekend! Recently I took my Yeti in to have a chain installed, and not only did they take care of it less than 15 minutes (and did a pro job), what they charged was really fair (maybe even too low!). Just an awesome shop with employees that clearly are passionate about riding and bikes!

Great buying experience! Brie was so helpful and knowledgeable, just awesome to interact with. Rode multiple bikes at both the Carbondale and Basalt stores, and everyone we chatted with was so friendly. We visited multiple bike stores throughout the state and ended up going back to the Basalt store to purchase this Yeti I couldn’t get out of my head :-) Thanks!!

Great service! Parker, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. Had new tire and tube put on within 15 minutes. Awesome to go into a shop and get taken care of quickly. Love having a local brick and mortar to support.

I had an extremely positive experience with the crew at Basalt Bike and Ski. I worked primarily with Charlie and Stef on my new build. I had some rather esoteric requests for how I wanted to set up my bike and Charlie was super helpful fielding all my questions and requests. Charlie listed to my requests, gave some helpful input with options and pricing, and was personally dedicated to making sure my build went smoothly. I knew from the start that the process of customizing and tweaking a stock build were going to be cared for by Basalt Bike and Ski.

Scott at BB&S has been helping me get my boots to fit better without any pressure to buy new ones. He is a super great guy and very patient with me. I liked the folks at BB&S so much I took my wife there to buy new skis. Last ski season I took my skis in to get tuned and they did a great job, they even had them done by the very next morning. If you need anything done with your ski setup I would go here, I drive up valley 20 minutes to bring my stuff to them even though there are closer places to me, I trust BB&S to take care of me, great folks.

Awesome bike shop! I’ve had experience with many shops in the valley and only go to them from now on. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I’m very particular about bikes and the maintenance for them. They always meet my expectations. Highly recommend them!

I have been a customer for years, loved the old location but the new location along with the service area is very accessible. While most bike shops rely on sales and rentals I have found the service, especially with top end wrenches to be the best in the Valley. I have purchased several bikes and pairs of ski's over the years from Joel and his crew. I have had several very high end projects, and over the top builds done to my vision of one of a kind bikes. The staff has spent many hours with me to get the desired results at a competitive price. I also have seen many of the top riders in the valley also in the shop on many occasions. Its kinda a gathering place where everyone knows your name. Even new customers get personalized attention. Over the years my needs have been met without fail and I always send friends and my clients to Basalt Bike and Ski Charlie V.

Rented bikes for a ride up the Frying Pan River. Friendly and helpful and good directions to get to the river from the shop. Pleasant staff. The ride was great and we recommend the shop if you're a visitor to the area.

I was on vacation and rented a mountain bike for a day and they were fantastic to work with. They took the time to ask me what type of trails I like to ride and then gave me some suggestions and showed me on a map how to get there.
They were very helpful and the bike was well maintained and rode great.

I got my first mountain bike this season and don’t know a lot. Since I’ve gotten it, I’ve have had so many questions and concerns about my new bike.
