Mr Submarine - Drive Thru Only

First visit and never noticed it was down the street from my job!! I will be returning for the fresh subs!! Very fresh meat..very fresh rolls best I have since been here in Richmond not hard and stale like Wawa.. and other places. Not overly filled and sloppy to eat!! Love them and the customer service was impeccable and a lovely change from what we are and experience today.. dive thru only makes sense and safe for every single person and controlled and moves fast the line was long which means what???!?! THE FOOD IS GREAT!! A must try... I had the turkey and cheese sub combo well worth the price .. the sub is big!! And did I say fresh!!?

Best steak n' cheese I have ever had! The fries were fantastic as well! Not overly salted like other reviews have mentioned. They were perfect. Fantastic drive-thru service as well.

I haven’t been here since I was a kid and randomly decided to go today for a steak n cheese. I know they’re good but I forgot how great their subs are!

I love trying steak and cheeses but just recently moved to Glen Allen and became closer to Mr. Sub. I remember they have a drive thru, making it even more convenient! The wait wasn’t long at all, lined moved fast and yet the food was fresh!

I got a steak and cheese sub with everything, fries and a sweet tea 😋

Reasonable prices combined with taste. Fast service coupled with satisfaction. Mister paired with Submarine.

Chicken parmesan and steak and cheese are great! Portions are huge that it can be split into two meals. Fries are addicting but a bit too salty. Drive thru line organization is messy however. Not enough cars can fit into a line leaving you wondering where to go. Static noise dominates the drive thru speaker. Makes you say, I hope that's my order!

Overall, it's good.

Really some of the best sandwiches around and the service is always kind and happy! So many great things to choose from as well. Always seems to be a line.. because people love it!!

I've been eating here for 30 years. Robert has been on the grill for over 25 years, and the Steak and cheese sub is easily the best I've ever had. Philly doesn't hold a candle to these subs.

The holy grail of Italian subs can be found right here, the standard for all others. I absolutely love their Italian sub, the perfect combination of all ingredients and I ask for extra banana peppers!! Get out and get you one!!!

Went there for first time. Speaker was very clear, great customer service, great food. Strongly suggest to anyone.

Some of the best subs in the city. Don't go here if you're looking for "aoli" or "arugula" or "brown mustard." Go here if you want a sub with LTO and solid working-class vibes. Also you can't go inside.

Mr. Submarine is great! Simple menu, maybe 10 sandwiches plus some Italian dinner offerings, fried sides. But the quality and taste is worth a visit! The bread for the sandwiches is fresh and soft as you'd want, the vegetables are fresh, the meats are flavorful...If you get there after 11 (opening) there is almost always a line at the drive-through which is their only pick up option, but it moves fast. The staff is quick and friendly too. The prices, especially in 2023- are extremely fair-considering the quality and amount of stuffing the cram into that sandwich.
Personally, I opt for no oil/vinegar in mine, I don't know why sandwich places do this- its dumb. If your ingredients are as fresh as they are here, you don't want vinegar covering it up.
I can't say enough good things about Mr. Submarine. When I want to treat myself with a hearty samdwich, this is where I go.

I’m 99% sure I keep Mr. Submarine in business. I eat there wayyyy too often but the food AND service are just that good.

I’ve driven past this place a million times and have always made comments about how their drive thru line was packed.

Well now I know why. This steak and cheese & fries was killer. Old school sub spot.

The great thing about Mr. Submarine is the consistency. They change nothing as far as ingredients, and no new goofy "lineup" of subs. There's no need. Just good, in your face food with genuinely kind and upbeat service to make your day. There's always a line, but they move the line pretty fast. You still can't go inside as of late March 2023. Get the classic Italian cold, or the cheesesteak and you can't go wrong. Long live Mr. Submarine.

Lovely customer service from Elena! Our friends are regulars and we can understand why. Food was fresh and great portion. Budget and people friendly.

If I get anywhere near a 50 mi radius of this place I must pull over and have the best steak and cheese so ever and fries best around and worth every bite I mean penny 😆

The gyro sandwich is the best in the city it's a beautiful thing
